As someone with medical issues that cause my hands to shake fairly often, it would be a god send. That being said though, click accuracy is probably the biggest skill check we have, so probably better that it doesnt happen.
While I totally respect that with your condition and many others it would be great, I'm always hesitant catering things for a minority when it would so heavily impacts the way the majority would play. I feel like I dick wording it like that, but I think you'd get the point.
It's a minefield out there, but there are plug-ins that send prayer change packets on a hot key. It's not currently detectable, and I wouldn't see a problem in you using them as long as its not to gain an advantage while fighting other players.
The teleport to send players in the wilderness is the max cape's POH teleport being switched with the black chins teleport. This included both the 1 click option and the teleport submenu. If you open the teleport menu from the max cape you might find that the black chins teleport stands at a familiar place of option 7, where the house teleports resided before (and suboption 1 used to be the POH inside teleport comparing to the modern confirmation to go to the wilderness)
no, it reduces the amount of clicks to perform actions and makes everything in the game easier. What they really need to do is make it easier and more obvious to the new player how to bind hotkeys to open prayerbook/ magic book/ inventory etc instead. This way people learn the game doing this and we don't need to talk about adding some weird gameplay changing hotkey feature
Eoc sucks but kinda introduced this idea already. Like eating a shark with a hotkey. Id be down for it because lots of runescape is just navigating menus
@@Jesus-ee4og I think they addressed this already by allowing you to rearrange where the prayers are. Learning how to accurately click is a core part of what makes this game difficult. Games are never improved by being made easier. See world of Warcraft
It's nothing like Eoc, it makes complete sense to utilize hotkeys to activate prayers. We already have hotkeys to activate run off and on, hotkeys to close windows and run through tabs and shift drop. In my opinion this wouldn't diminish click accuracy at all because you'll still need to click your special bar, your magic abilities, your gear, and opponent. At least adding a quick prayers hotkey and maybe saved quick prayer load outs having up to three or so would be nice. Some qol to reduce the carpal tunnel, some people can't just click as intense as others due to hand injuries and they still want to play the game and go hard.
Eoc was changing combat abilities like barrage to have actual effects and without a special attack there was an some enraged bar or whatever it's called with an action bar like wow.
In most games it makes sense. In osrs it breaks the game. 1 tick flicking isn’t sustainable for most people because you can’t be clicking twice in your prayerbook every tick while also interacting with the gameworld, gearswitching and eating/drinking. Prayer binds would trivialize all current content in osrs, the biggest difference being to the most difficult pieces of content which not everyone needs to be able to do, while almost everyone could in the current state if they just practiced enough.
@@KelekaTV EOC calls it adrenaline, and it basically replaced the special attack energy we have now. Barrage and such didn't really gain anything new, but rather you gained a whole bunch of new attacks that you could choose from to use instead, each one basically a special attack on its own, which could be used with any weapon of that class. Basically every melee weapon gained an AGS spec as well as a Dragon 2h sword spec and a Dragon scimitar spec and many more, some of them were free outside of cooldowns while others cost 50% or 100% special attack energy, which you would generate I think its 8% per basic attack or 0 cost "special attack". When you set it up to cast barrage, it would only cast when you used your basic attack, but it works basically the same as in OSRS. Weapons still have special attacks, and in fact they even added basically a Zenyte necklace equivalent that you sacrifice a weapon to in order to store its special attack which can then be used by any other weapon of the same type while you wear that necklace.
I've played for over 20 years, only seriously since 2022, I used to be for some way to hot key prayers to make them more accessible. It felt like a barrier to entry for me doing kind of any hard-ish content. Now, having done some hard content (for me) I feel completely differently, not to sound insensitive but if you can't get to your prayers in time or miss click it's a skill issue, keep practicing. Would be a no vote from me.
On the prayer hotkey stuff, my lazy side says yes. It'd make combat feel smoother and satisfying to instantly flip prayers. BUT. Memorizing where you gotta click prayers and switching tabs is part of the chaos of boss battles and PVP. It's too fundamentally different and would ultimately take something away if it were added. So NO. Bin it.

People like go say osrs is a rythym game, but I think it's more like an FPS. Click accuracy is like your aiming ability and rythym is your recoil control.
normaly i don't respond to these hings , but for me the hotkeys would work amazing , i have a nerve disease which makes feeling and responds time way off and slow , if i could just have my hand on the keyboard on the hotkeys for the prayers , and my mouse in my inventory , it would be way better , now i can F-key into the prayer tab , but then moving my mouse over and select the prayer can be meassured with a calandar ( pun intended with how slow my responds is ) so the keybound quickprayer would help a lot , i actually had quitted osrs over it and started a new rs3 account for it , but now rs3 has more keybinds and whatnot that just having a few keys near eachother doesn't work since a long time anymore , so swapped back to osrs started over , but can't really boss , so i'm kinda stuck as a skiller
I don't like the idea of having hot keys for prayers. What I would want to see instead is being able to set multiple prayer setups. So like you could have a setup with pray melee and piety, then have another one with pray melee and augury. I think that's a better option then hotkey prayer.
Yes everyone in the game has access to direct input and I've personally cliented irons and mains alike to the front pages or top 200s of many grinds hotkeys would level the playing field and inspire more bridding and overall engagement with moving onto harder content
I agree that the main skill in OSRS is click accuracy, and I'd be interested to see how that skill could be brought to the next level if constantly swapping to the prayer book gets removed from the equation. This could be done in other ways - such as a boss that doesn't allow overhead prayers.
Hotkeys defiantly would feel like eoc if it were ever to come to osrs, so no even because you can use runelite to hide / show specific prayers. Menu hotkeys should be the only hotkeys in the game with an exception. I think quick prayers should have a default hotkey. It sounds counter intuitive, but you have to set up the prayers beforehand not like a normal prayer hotkey.
It would also be alienating mobile players but that is beside the point. Quickprayers are already a thing, and there can be easily set boundaries like with the special attack orb being disabled in the wilderness. Rs3 players work around ability cooldowns and can basically use them whenever they are ready, with a universal cooldown that all lay overtop the basic gametick structure we base everything on still. Like everything you can do in that game can be hotkeyed from quickprayers to gear swaps to eating food to activating your enhanced excalibur for heal over time to activating your slayer cape to teleport to a slayer master that happens to be close to the archaeology material you need to farm. This is a far cry from the dystopia that is rs3 if you ask me.
Only format i can see this being acceptable in terms of skill ceiling preservation would be a hotkey for the currently selected quick prayers. Anything that lets you swap on the fly with the non-mouse hand will affect multitasking ability and thus lower the skill ceiling.
I believe a League 6 is inevitable because without a league, there wouldn't be any points, which would create discontinued items-something Jagex has said they want to avoid. So, eventually, I think we'll see a yearly, generic league that lasts for a month to introduce points into the game.
Typically, making an intended action more convenient is beneficial, but this would trivialize much of the content. For example, with Zebak, simultaneously moving and changing prayers would become too easy. The game's content and difficulty are designed around the challenge of moving and changing prayers in time. This change would be insanely overpowered. The game is very accessible, with the most challenging content offering cosmetic rewards and sometimes a slight DPS increase, not being essential for becoming strong. Power creep is a significant issue; we don't need to make the game even easier. A quick prayer hotkey might be a good compromise for flicking without draining prayer, but even that is currently overpowered and exploited.
I would love this and only for this because I'm have limited movement in my right hand and good movement in my left. Really would help a lot of us who like RuneScape for it's simplicity in controls for some handicaps
i get why people would be upset about it but ive thought they should add those things for a while. hotkeys for prayers and spec would feel pretty nice. still takes skill and doesnt feel clunky like it does now. i feel like the way it is now it breaks your immersion of what is actually happening in combat.
It would be a hard yes from me, honestly seems silly how arbitrary what you can and can't do in osrs that you could in any other game. It's the same game mechanics either way and it would be a big QoL for newer players trying to get into the game instead of the weird UI minigame for bossing/pvp. This is from someone who has played since ~2003 and hated eoc
I think they should add it. Some of the more complex bosses in the game will still be extremely click intensive regardless of switching between prayer book and inventory. I think end game content is already hard enough, let the people who don’t have 0 ping and a top of the line internet connection have some fun too.
Oldschool Runescape Is Not A Game That Keyboard Presses Translate To Direct Actions. This Is A Click Centric Game. You Cannot Press A Key To Eat Food, You Cannot Press A Key To Change Equipment, You Cannot Press A Key To Activate A Weapon's Special Attack, Plant Seeds, Chop Trees, Catch Fish, Mine Rocks, Etc... You Should NOT Be Able To Press A Button To Perform A Direct Action That Otherwise Requires A Click. Navigating Interfaces Has Been The Extent Of Keyboard Presses, As It Should Be. That Has Been Fundamental From Day One. Allowing Keys To Be Assigned Directly To Prayers Is Not Cohesive With The Rest Of The Game, And Would Also Make Autohotkey Slightly Harder To Detect (Even If Not Much Harder At All, You Could Argue That It Would Be A Minuscule Difference). I Will Admit I Quit The Game Recently, But For The Love Of God Prayers Being Assignable To Keys Would Be More Negative Than Positive. I Understand The Potential Accessibility Option, But If I'm Being Brutally Honest I Think The Integrity Of The Game Is More Important Than Making The Game Easier For Every Single Person On The Planet. That Doesn't Mean That I Don't Care About People Who Struggle To Play Because Of Certain Conditions, But I Think Giving Cheaters And Highly Skilled Players The Same Advantage As Those Who May Be Disadvantaged Would Be An Overall Net Loss. This Is Just My Opinion About The Game And It Does Not Reflect My Feelings Towards Anyone.
only way I'll vote for hotkey prayers is if we can change it from osrs to lazyscape and bring out osrs 2 without quick prayers, inventory locks, infinite run energy, HD, sailing and raids. as much as I complain about how much I suck at combat it feels like more of an accomplishment going from unable to beat jad to almost hitting elite tier combat diary completion without quick prayers and mega rares
its 1 of those things were people have to make up reasons that dont make any actual sense just to keep it out of the game. Even though we already have half the battle with hotkeys for the different tabs, including prayer.
I personally despise prayer flicking/switching as a mechanic it was a neat gimmick for Jad its stupid on Leviathan there are other ways to make the game more interesting/difficult/complex so for me, fuck it put it in
I dont see a reason why not as an optional thing. Thankfully i dont have any medical problems, but i can imagine that rapid click accuracy can be an issue for those who do have health problems and something like that would probably let them enjoy more pieces of content. Runescape players seem to forget that some ideas may not be made specifically for them and they may not like it, but for some these things could change the game for better
Hot keys for prayers were something i wanted when i first started playing osrs but now that i have a good understanding of the combat system i really dont think it would be a very good addition. The main reason being that it takes out a lot of skill expression. Really the only three interfaces you use in most pvm is the invin, prayers, and spell book removing the need to use one of the most used interfaces would take a lot of skill out of pvm imop.
Im gonna say yes, but only for one reason: 5:27. We HAVE hotkeys in this game that remove the use of skilled clicking between critical things (in this case, different tabs, which uses the function keys). I'd say let it be outside of pvp, but dont allow it in pvp, kinda like how we have the customizable prayers visibility and spellbook sizes that only work outside the wildy. And before you say "it will ruin the skill expression of pve", counterpoint: people are buying inferno capes all the time, what skill expression? The average person doesnt have and never will have the current level of skill expression needed to do high end content and doesnt want to break their wrist to do it. At least ease the barrier to entry so we can see more legitimate players as opposed to credit card warriors.
I'd be *okay* with quick prayers specifically being hotkey-able. I'd be kind of upset about all of the prayers (or a being able to hotkey several quick prayer loadouts etc.), but I also get it as an accessibility issue. I'd be annoyed, but I wouldn't riot in fally over it. While I enjoy my bajillion hot-keys in other games, that really doesn't feel very OSRS, and yeah, click accuracy is our biggest skill piece.
i would be okay with hotkeys being added. i think it makes the game a lot easier and while i wouldnt really want it added I wouldnt mind using them as well.
as someone who has been gated from content due to bad click accuracy, no hotkeys to make the game easier shouldnt be added. let acomplishments be acomplished by the player not solve themselvs
As someone who doesn't use f keys and has near obtained GM I think I'd have to vote strongly against this kind of update. I could see the benefit but I fear it would probably change gameplay far far to much. Click accuracy is one of the defining points of any OSRS player..
I used to have click accuracy (then i got a job as a mechanic) My hands are bashed around but im still a kid at heart and i wish i was good at the game i love hotkeys would solve my fine motor control issue. I already hotkey my prayer page, magic book and inventory
i was trying to use home teleport on my max cape an was trying to send me to black chin spot but luckily it had the warning still as i was in my torva, afking vyres
i think it would be a good thing as long as the prayers able to be hotkeyed were limited to just the overheads making it so if you want rigour you'd still have to click it
Nah, even overheads is too much. It would only not affect skill ceiling if it was one prayer or your quick prayers for instance. But being able to use your non-mouse hand to multitask prayers while moving and eating is game breaking
After having played a good bit of RS3, I can definitely see some appeal to having hotkeys for prayers, it's a really nice feature overall but I think not having it adds to the charm of OSRS. As much as I'd like it, I kind of prefer how it is now.
It's a definite no from me
What about clickboxes on monster. Legs are easier to hit, lower max, body mid, head is critical with low accuracy
As someone with medical issues that cause my hands to shake fairly often, it would be a god send. That being said though, click accuracy is probably the biggest skill check we have, so probably better that it doesnt happen.
Same same same on all accounts.
same here

its 1 of those things were people have to make up reasons that dont make any actual sense just to keep it out of the game. Even though we already have half the battle with hotkeys for the different tabs, including prayer.
I personally despise prayer flicking/switching as a mechanic
it was a neat gimmick for Jad
its stupid on Leviathan
there are other ways to make the game more interesting/difficult/complex
so for me, fuck it put it in
If you want to play a different game then go do that
Im assuming some players already do it, so making it available to everyone would even the playing field
If clock accuracy is the biggest thing then make a ‘head’ click box for low accuracy high dps hit
While I enjoy my bajillion hot-keys in other games, that really doesn't feel very OSRS, and yeah, click accuracy is our biggest skill piece.
some combat hotkeys wouldn't be too bad
All the people using ahk will obviously say no because they want to keep their advantage that they never get banned for.
I'm not even good and absolutely not
DV8 is such a baby
i would be okay with hotkeys being added. i think it makes the game a lot easier and while i wouldnt really want it added I wouldnt mind using them as well.
as someone who has been gated from content due to bad click accuracy, no hotkeys to make the game easier shouldnt be added. let acomplishments be acomplished by the player not solve themselvs
If it was put into the game, we'd need more intense content to match it.
maybe test a League where keyboard activated prayer switching is allowed lol
As someone who doesn't use f keys and has near obtained GM I think I'd have to vote strongly against this kind of update. I could see the benefit but I fear it would probably change gameplay far far to much. Click accuracy is one of the defining points of any OSRS player..
Lowering the top level ceiling is fine, that means they could release even harder content. I'm not opposed to it however I can live without it.
I used to have click accuracy (then i got a job as a mechanic)
My hands are bashed around but im still a kid at heart and i wish i was good at the game i love
hotkeys would solve my fine motor control issue. I already hotkey my prayer page, magic book and inventory
it’s a definate yes for me
i was trying to use home teleport on my max cape an was trying to send me to black chin spot but luckily it had the warning still as i was in my torva, afking vyres
Condor covered the wildy tele bug 2:27
Add the premium prayer fkeys on to the premium membership and its fine.
The bots are doing it. Let's join them.
i think it would be a good thing as long as the prayers able to be hotkeyed were limited to just the overheads making it so if you want rigour you'd still have to click it
Sort based? Hot keys but only for one prayer at a time.
Doesnt debase the top level of the game but allows for some choice.
Nah, even overheads is too much. It would only not affect skill ceiling if it was one prayer or your quick prayers for instance. But being able to use your non-mouse hand to multitask prayers while moving and eating is game breaking
Yes for hot key prayers unless clienters are actually banned and that issue is solved
After having played a good bit of RS3, I can definitely see some appeal to having hotkeys for prayers, it's a really nice feature overall but I think not having it adds to the charm of OSRS. As much as I'd like it, I kind of prefer how it is now.
Runescape mechanics are all about not being able to hotkey overheads....
Hotkeys for PVM could allow for faster paced fights in the future
Hotkeys for PVP is a hard no
