my only problems are that the regular shoes look like cynderblocks, the eyes aren’t smoothed with the muzzle and the super spikes aren’t like sa1 and sa2.

That model isn’t actually too bad to make. Made a few OCs in blender in that style before. Though I handled the quills and eyes differently. Might try to replicate the look of the quills at some point.

His later artwork in this style was some of my favorite Sonic representation period. It really peaked around Sonic Rush.
I used to draw Sonic and those pictures are the first thing I would go to for reference.
This is actually amazing. The 2D Sonic goes 3D directly with no touchups, smoothing or anything. Just the good old design

Curious on the materials they used. The modeling and rigging part is not too bad. I made a sonic model myself before for practice. But I’d love to be able to use the materials they use to get the colors to pop like that.
An art style like that, a new voice actor for a fresh take on the character, and fun gameplay would bring me right back in to the franchise.
Never seen the fandom so united to have a game in this style. It’s honestly so cool, I really do think this mod popped off and it could honestly be one of THE coolest models in Sonic
Cartoon style is neat, but I really prefer Frontiers' style because it leads to beautiful visuals

I really miss seeing this artstyle in the official games...it helped the character feel SOOO much more lively than many of even his recent 3D renders.
It’s probably the most iconic style of the franchise. I think it was dropped after Rush Adventure. I really love the character art in this style especially for the Advance series.
I can see a 3D Sonic the Hedgehog Collection with Adventure 1 & 2, Heroes, Sonic R, Shadow the Hedgehog, & Sonic ‘06 in this Art Style.
The mod looks so good that I want someone to make an mod on the movement and have them have the Spider-verse Effect that would be chefs kiss.

This was how Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 and Heroes looked in my mind when I was a kid. I feel like this is the "right" visual direction to take modern sonic in, instead of trying to make everything hyper realistic. Gives it a funky y2k vibe.

The only game that matched this style in 3D was the Sonic Shuffle Intro, which I absolutely adored as a kid.
His mouth automatically switches to witch ever side the camera is on just like how it would if you were drawing him I love it.
