- A single night tournament, where the only way to win... is to lose! With the use of Cagematch.net, we found out which WWE have lost the MOST in 2023, and threw them into a tournament to determine the biggest loser of 2023! Who made the cut? The answers might surprise you...

When you include live events, it makes complete sense that the biggest losers are going to be all of the heels. That makes it extra sad that Gable made the cut.
I suppose it makes sense if you consider that Gable probably faced Gunther on house shows when Gunther wasn't tagging with the rest of Imperium.
Gable was still a heel for the first several months of the year, then when he turned he started losing IC title matches to Gunther on house shows. There's also a funny stretch on the recent European tour where Alpha Academy was putting over Vinci & Kaiser despite being the faces.

As dumb as it sounds racking up losses like that on a house show is a good thing. It’s showing the company has faith in Gable to safely work night after night after night.
40:24 AAA has tournaments named 'Ruleta de la Muerte' (singles) and 'Guerra de Rivalidades' (tag team), which the LOSER advances in the tournament, because the final match of the tournament is a Mask VS. Mask match where the loser has to remove his mask!
The German Wrestling Federation (GWF) had such a Fun Title, it was called "The Loserweight Title". You had to win a Title Match to get rid of it.

3v3 house show matches of Imperium versus flavor of the month. Gunther probably never gets pinned but because he is on the losing team he still gets the L
Notice how all 3 members of Imperium are included. They lost a lot of house shows.
That's what I was thinking, I mean, I get that it's less that GUNTHER has lost a lot and more that his crew have lost a lot, but even then, shouldn't only the person taken the pin be the one who's in the tournament?
being on the losing team is still a loss, and that'd also mean we'd have to go through and find every instance of every person who took a pinfall loss for their team which would be way too much of a hassle!
This could open all kinds of possibilities.
First blood matches where guys immediately race to cut themselves open without ever touching each other.
Submission matches where both guys start complaining to the ref as soon as the bell rings that theyre injured and cant go on.
Elimination tag matches where one team covers each other trying to get one guy eliminated.
Call the PPV "Cowards Castle".

Imagine a singles match that neither man wants to win, so they fight and try to make the opponent cover THEM. So instead of kicking out, it's the person that's covering trying to get off the opponent or touch the rope.
It could lead to hilarious situations.
Im honestly surprised no company has pushed a reverse tables match where the first person to put themselves through a table wins.

Gunther’s losses have to be live event team matches where Ludwig or Giovanni take the pin cause Gunther literally hasn’t lost on tv in how long and that was DQ with gable months ago and hasn’t been pinned in over a year
This concept is actually kinda unique and a company should do it in real life. Like, they could take the 8 wrestlers with the worst win/loss record and put them in a tournament like this one in which the "winner" gets (kayfabe) fired... it's essentially like a tournament in reverse. Has any promotion done that before?

I don't know if it was about biggest losers, but I believe there's a lucha tournament where you advance by losing and whoever loses in the finals has to unmask.

No, they shouldn't do this. It would be an absolute disaster and logically make zero sense why they would even have a match in the first place, just get DQ'd, count out or better yet both wrestlers in a match get counted out. Then if its FCA or No DQ you have the issue of interference. It would be absurd.
The only thing that came close to this was the Feast or Fired bullshit in TNA and that was simply because they really wanted to fire Chavo.
Could be a good comedy thing maybe if the company has two brands you could kayfabe fire the loser

decent ok matches. especially compared to Gunther's matches with Gable, Bronson Reed and Ciampa, and of course Sheamus and McIntyre
Wanted to mention this somewhere and this seems as good as anywhere. If you do a tag team tournament in 2k23, set the stipulation to random and then select yes to control partners, if the stipulation has tornado tag you will control both wrestlers at the same time.

In all seriousness WWE has had a pretty good year storywise/in-ring wise. Of course you could pick out the same old WWE bullshit (RAW being 3 hours is still one of them) but overall they've had a good year! Its a great time to be a pro wrestling fan, regardless of all the tribalism going around. You can be a fan of multiple companies and can also disagree with certain aspects of multiple companies. Sorry for rambling on, just excited for the future of the business!
