He still releases music and some of his recent songs have a few million views/ plays on spotify and UA-cam, so I wouldn't say he "flopped". He's now independent and makes 100% of that money, so he's probably actually doing better off than some mainstream artists who have record labels taking a huge chunk of the revenue. Just because he's not heavily promoted by mainstream media, doesn't mean his career ended, you just don't hear about it without doing some searching.

Taylor Ray Holbrook is an independent country artist, doing legit almost everything on his own (99%) and he’s quite successful i believe

His first mistake was not to allow a label to promote him. Promoting yourself or self-publishing stamps you as an enemy of the industry, I know from experience having been in the industry for years. The next thing that probably comes into play is that he probably wouldn't give "IT" up to a producer or label executive and so he's been d listed. The amount of manipulation based on certain physical favors is ridiculous and disgusting in this industry.

He "flopped" because he's not following the trend unlike Justin & Ariana. Take a look at David Archuleta, Cody Simpson & Greyson Chance too, they had beautiful voice but couldn't reach the top like Justin & Ariana did, however, Austin, David, Cody & Greyson are awesome in their own way.
