Have Rage 2 - 128gb blue. Often using for writing movies ant putting into TV USB slot. Depends on movie format writing sometimes reaches ~250mb which is monster, but usually for older formats. New movies holds ~80mb. Least I saw was about 40mb, sometimes ~150mb. But 80mb would be an average for several gig movie files.
Does this, or specifically the RAGE Elite, have an indicator LED? This is really important because I often don't have any way of knowing if the USB port is good.
Impressive little drive, i just got the 512gb and transfer really fast, for $99 imo its a much better buy than Cosair Voyager GTX or Kingston Hyper Savage. They should have called it XT mini, the XT branding always have been the best from Patriot.
Advertised on various sites as coming with a 5 year/3 year/1 year warranty here in UK.Emails to company bounce back.Shame guess they are more USA market focused.
Does anyone know in what Rage Elite is different than Rage 2? So far I only noticed the red color instead of blue and Elite also has 1TB model. When I first looked at it I thought it would have a higher speed than Rage 2, but that isn't the case.
I read a review that stated that the activity light activates only for write activity -- nothing for read activity. Is that correct? Or does it blink for both read and write activity? By the way, I ended up purchasing a Sandisk Extreme Pro drive. Its performance and casing is excellent. But its slide mechanism, for extending the head, is already starting to fail. So I am, again, looking for a thumb drive, which is why I am once again looking at this drive. Thank you.
I just ordered one of these to expand my "device" memory on my Nvidia Shield TV. Amazing Black Friday pricing made it irresistible, $20. The Shield supports USB 3.0 speeds. On several Flash device web pages they state 3.0 and 3.1 gen 1 are both limited to 5 GB's per second, and only the gen 2 spec are rated at 10 GB's per second. Either way, it should be more than adequate on my Shield. Thanks for your review !
merman93 yes the ruling definitives decided 3.0 and 3.1 gen 1 are the same difference now. Awesome deal btw! I learned a bit after some reading myself 😊👍
Good review. How does it do with copying a bunch of small files? Like 80GB of mp3s?

It does! Sorry I didn't mention that :D
