- Jamie Lopez, the driving force behind Babydoll Beauty Couture and the star of the "mega salon" has died...... TMZ has learned.
Sources close to Lopez tell us that she was hospitalized in Las Vegas and died over the weekend from heart complications. A representative for the BBC said in a statement, "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the legendary Jamie Lopez, founder and owner of Babydoll Beauty Couture. On behalf of the Babydoll family, we ask that you give us time to process this great loss." Once weighing 846 pounds, Lopez designed her salon while she was confined to her bed - too heavy to get up and see the world. The show follows her progress, including her 400-pound weight loss and her first walk into a salon. Babydoll Beauty Couture was founded to serve plus-size women.......'s "Super Size Salon," which premiered on WE TV earlier this year, highlighted the salon's staff and clientele. We're told she's about to begin filming the second season. Jamie is only 37 years old.
