Thanks for this detailed information. With my 9k games, I am grinding the Super Conqueror line... I can confirm that Churchills and Black Prince are patience and perseverance exams. Then, you are rewarded by Caernarvon, but first you have to grind for to the second gun (the last step in a long stepping effort). Unless you have free XP enough to unlock track, turret and gun, what I would recommend. Obvious blue thumb here.
AT 8 is borderline OP especially with the turbo. Great armour and great gun. The "weak" spot is 152mm which bounces most things at tier 6. And if you can hide it which you often can on the city maps, you can bounce tier 7 and 8 tanks.
I had a blast playing the AT8 in the recent Top of the Tree. It is slow and games can be boring and frustrating, but blocking 7k dmg in a bottom tier game is a great feeling.
the Leo1 was my first tier X. im a huge fan of light tanks and at the time it was the closest thing to a tier X LT we had. havent downloaded the game since i got the new PC in august. these kinds of videos make me miss it, but then i see some of the new tanks recently released and i remember.

IS-2-II is actually an great tank in my opinion, if you use the dpm right and wiggle your turret while reloading its really great, I 2 marked it as an new player with I think 2.4k average.
15:40 7,5/5,5cm is a so called queeze bore. This means that the projectile at the beginning is 7,5cm in diameter/calibre and gets squeezed down to 5,5cm diameter/calibre, resulting in a very high muzzle velocity.

I have almost all tanks tier 8 and for new players, for missions, beginner friendly tanks up to tier 8, could suggest: LT: RU/USA, FR MT: UK, JP, GER (E50 line was more pleasant) HT: RU, USA, JP TD: UK (FV line), USA (E4 line), GER (grill line) SPG: GER, USA, RU
15:40 I know its pointless me mentioning it, but thats a squeezebore gun! the end of the barrel is 5.5cm, wheras the breach is 7.5cm, so the shell gets compressed at the end of the barrel, making it go very fast

I'm a sidescrape lover with my kv4 and I actually don't enjoy the KV 1s and the IS simply because they lack armor for me, I mean you literally can get slapped in the turret cheeks whenever you're peeking. The IS-3 for me is where you can turn up the hardbass.
15:40: the conic gun actually squashes the shell, benefiting both from a larger propellant charge and a smaller surface area to penetrate. this doesn’t work with HE, though, so the tank doesn’t have that round. it was also dismissed IRL due to lots of wear and tear. nowadays, tanks use "Sabot"-rounds (eg APFSDS, armor piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot) that have a metal cage that gets removed by the drag when leaving the barrel, and the fins make rifling the barrel unnecessary, which reduces friction very much and thus allows the shell to have more energy, while still beeing small enough to have a small surface area of armor to penetrate, which is how these insane penetration values like 800mm RHA (rolled homogeneous (steel) armor) equivalent get achieved.

Very good video! I have to mention one little quirk on the Indien-Pz. that can save you in a lot of situations. The Indien has a V-shaped hull on the sides. You can reverse sidescrape against tier 10 and you will troll them, it's a lot of fun! Go on tanks gg, and see it for yourself, it's actually amazing how many players can be baited to shoot at you thinking they will easily pen you. That's how I got through many many situations on city maps, and I was quite an annoying little sh*t. The turret on the Indien is also troll-ish.
i went down the k91 line relatively soon for my t10 tanks, i think it was my 2nd or 3rd t10 and ohmygod the gun is so immensely reliable and the sleek profile makes it such a sneaky tank. it sorta feels like a dpm and camo focused leo 1.
I play around 2 months. Very good review. I have like winning rate 44% - this could help definately to raise it. Finally I understand a bit which tech tree to select. I am a bit angry to WG - for unballanced battles and for premium tanks that cannot be destroyed... I will not spend that much money for this game - not for gold. Only for premium. Proggeto 54 is actually a great tank and one of the best tier 8. It has speed of the medium, solid armor, 220 penetration which is great and 320 alpha. Gun depression is -9 so you can play it hull down. I would just like that apcr have more penetration and to move backwards faster.Tier 9 and x are bad for me but with progetto 54 i have one of the better stats.
I think you were a bit rough on E50M. It has a very good turret, decent sidescrapping, very good accuracy and only somehow lower dpm,. but comeon dpm IS overrated, by itself it won't keep your tank alive. Not to mention that is THE ramming machine. But surely not for new players. Enjoyed watching this, thanks for your work.
TO be fair, for me M103 is a brutal war machine. one of if not my favorite tier IX. and i dare say i feel the same confidence in this vehicle as in the Concept 1B. and i actually like the Mi03 a bit more. but both of em are just beasts. T110E5. Im starting to like it but feels underwhelming in comparison to the tier IX at least imo.
Bruh having played the M103 and the T110E5, the armor on the M103 is ass, and yes it does have a sweet spot in my heart but it sucks nonetheless, E5, on the other hand, is way better and more versatile.
I've had an account for wot for about 13 years now, been playing on and off so only have 3k battles. Anyways, when I was grinding up the E5 line, there was an option to go from the mediums to the heavies with the Sherman jumbo, which is what I ended up choosing, I don't regret it, still have my jumbo and love it, and I wish this was still an option for new players.
13:00 Maus is my first tier 10 tank xD and I love it so much, extremely fun to play. I don't remember exactly but I got it after only a few months after I started to play, no regrets at all
I think this whole video is great and most of the things you say holds true the only exception is that the AMX m4 54 line went from well poo to the best tank in the game within a year.
I save up my free xp and just go get what ever tank I want. So far I've got all the tanks that impressed me, so now I'm just waiting until another one gets buffed into greatness, like they did with the Patriot! I love that tank now!
Regarding the Jagd E100 line: The Ferdinand is a fantastic tank. It’s gun has great penn and damage. It’s slow but not horribly so and if you throw on some camp it goes a long way in survivability. I’m also not sure why you feel it’s armor is so bad. It has a great slope and performs EXTREMELY well in hull down positions. It really bounces a lot even when uptiered. Also the 105 hetzer is one of the best Tier 4 tanks in the game. I highly recommend you try them out again as they’re both incredibly rewarding to play. The rest of the line is terrible though.
A few incorrect things with the French: The B1 does not get tier 4 only mm; you are thinking of the german B2. The BDR is the best heavy tank at tier five hands down. The ARL 44 is decent. The ARL V39 with the 105 is probably the most underrated tank at tier 6; it's amazing if you play it right since it has a surprising amount of armor and speed and alpha.

8:33 I don't think you realise that Manticore is not a damage dealer but an excellent scout with camo values better than the EBR. Otherwise why do you think it's used in competitive play?
Yes, it's a better passive scout. The EBR actually has better camo values than the Manticore but only just. The reason why it is used in competitive is because it is the best passive scout in the game. However it's not about competitive play for this list of tanks. It's about random battles and if you should grind it. Manticore is a pain to grind and T-100 LT is better for just random battles.
You inspired me to return to the game and get serious to make it to tier 10. I have an irrationalbiased towards French tanks. and British light tanks, pray for us sinners. Oh and I have already started down the French artillery line lol.
If you want to get russian tank destroyers, go for KV-2 and then forSU-152. SU-76M is such a pain in the ass to grind, you have almost 0 armor and you deal 80 dmg on avarage. SU-76M will take away your will to live. Trust me.
The grille 15 is a good tank mainly because of its speed but the wt auf pz 4's 12.8cm gun (560 dmg) is more reliable than the grille's gun. Not to mention the turret can fully rotate unlike the grille.
Well... I grinded Jg. Pz. E100 as my first tier 10 and i can tell you that i regret it in terms of Mmking, but not regret it in terms of the Tank type. Enjoyed the Ferdinand tho XD
Good video Max. Though not sure with your assessment on some of the old tanks that you say are good in current WOT like the T8 & 9 US Meds. These old tanks are really meh nowadays, and can use a buff.

B-5 and B-28 were a pain in the butt for me to use(its inaccuracy is higher than a nerf gun)but it was worth it since the other tanks are just busted edit:I was told that I went for the most non beginner friendly path

I must disagree somewhat with your conclusions about the AMX M4 line. TL:DR It's not beginner friendly, because of couple lemons, but it's still very much worth researching, as it has some true gems. - The tier X, I hear, was well buffed recently, though haven't played it yet. - Tier *IX is excellent,* as you said. One of my best performing tanks. - Tier VII-VIII are a bit frustrating for being hevies. The 65t is better stock, as you said, but it's a good thing. It means it's playable. - *Tier VI is good fun,* though a bit slow. The armor works against smaller guns, but the *105mm gun* on ARL 44 served me well. People fear the alpha gun, so they didn't think and aim enough, so they bounce more than they should. - *Tier V is actually god tier.* I know on paper it shouldn't be, but the pen and alpha are excellent for the tier, so you can trade effectively. People think it doesn't have any armor, so they don't bother aiming. You can actually sidescrape. I catch the shells with my huge tracks and the lower plate is troll. It's *the best tier V heavy,* if you know how to use it. It's one of my all time best performing tanks. - Tier I-IV I won't mention.

After 8 years (with breaks in total of probably 6 years) I was finally able to get my first tier 10: T110E5 🎉🎉🎉
Im in the same boat just got my first tier 10 too (Maus). Been playing for 9 years (breaks around 6 years too)
I also got T110E5 as my forst teir ten, at around 500 hours, do I got it in less than a year of playing as F2P
It happened to me too... I started playing in 2014 and now in 2023 I'm gonna get my first tier X (obj 277) with really long breaks haha

I'm going through the 121 line as my first medium tank line and it's great so far. The Type 58 is absolutely stellar!

What i learned about the T-28 is that its better to block with the back, but still might be risky

For the Progetto 65, and the Standard B, field mods kind of fixed them, But you have to grind through those just to get that extra DPM

I went with the t95 line as my first td line , later went thru the obj 257 line as my first heavy and obj 430 as my first med lines
the T95 and T28 are fun to play specially when you hit people and you just bounce their shots.

Yugoslavian tech tree, the tier X M84 heavy MBT is somewhat Vz 55ish.
the leo is a really nice tank, it's a bit harder to play, but is really nice to play...

B-5 and B-28 were a pain in the butt for me to use(its inaccuracy is higher than a nerf gun)but it was worth it since the other tanks are just busted

I must disagree somewhat with your conclusions about the AMX M4 line.
TL:DR
It's not beginner friendly, because of couple lemons, but it's still very much worth researching, as it has some true gems.
- The tier X, I hear, was well buffed recently, though haven't played it yet.
- Tier *IX is excellent,* as you said. One of my best performing tanks.
- Tier VII-VIII are a bit frustrating for being hevies. The 65t is better stock, as you said, but it's a good thing. It means it's playable.
- *Tier VI is good fun,* though a bit slow. The armor works against smaller guns, but the *105mm gun* on ARL 44 served me well. People fear the alpha gun, so they didn't think and aim enough, so they bounce more than they should.
- *Tier V is actually god tier.* I know on paper it shouldn't be, but the pen and alpha are excellent for the tier, so you can trade effectively. People think it doesn't have any armor, so they don't bother aiming. You can actually sidescrape. I catch the shells with my huge tracks and the lower plate is troll. It's *the best tier V heavy,* if you know how to use it. It's one of my all time best performing tanks.
- Tier I-IV I won't mention.
