I was in the simulator today for the first time. Hitting a 5 and 3 wood today for the first time. I managed to hit the tee from under the ball every single time. The tee would just fly into the canvas and the ball would just fall to the ground and stay where it was. I picked the smaller tee after the first few shots. Same result. Golf continues to amaze me. Such a unique sport.
There’s been a few comments like this. It’s very interesting, as it’s definitely harder to hit straight off the deck… perhaps doing this forces you to improve strike? A bit like getting a smaller driver head or iron head forces an improved strike? Having the ball slightly above ground though for most does help, I think one of the presenters on NBC golf said, why would you not take the help of something that makes golf easier? What about drivers though? Tee height on that club also makes a massive difference! How high do you generally go on that club?
Hhhmmm interesting… I’ve experimented with both over the years. I definitely prefer just a short tee pushed into the ground as far as it goes…. Have you tried stabbing the ground with the iron to create a ramp or do you just go standard tee box lie?
I can’t believe how much difference tee height can make to the distance irons go! Let me know what tee height you prefer for your irons and if you have experimented with tee height.

It’s such a confidence based game, one minute all is good the next it’s like you’ve never hit a ball before,… ahhh golf.
I don’t use tees ever. I hit everything off the deck and am a way better player now. It’s made me a much more consistent ball striker.

Thinking about it… probably should do another video with no tee and short tee to see the difference too…😂
I actually stopped teeing up irons altogether. I find I’m much more consistent and accurate. I only tee up woods and possibly hybrid

Me too
@@DK_Golfer I do a standard tee box lie.
