- മഴക്കാലം വരുന്നതിന് മുൻപേ പുരമേയൽ തീർത്തു.
പണ്ട് മുതലേ ഓല മേഞ്ഞ വീടുകളിലെ പുരകെട്ട് ഒരാഘോഷം പോലെ ആയിരുന്നു. പണിക്കാർക്കുള്ള കഞ്ഞിയും ചോറും പുറത്തെ അടുപ്പിൽ വച്ചുണ്ടാക്കാൻ ഓടിനടക്കുന്ന വീട്ടമ്മമാർ. ചരുക്കോല (പഴയ ഓല ) തട്ടി നല്ലതും ചീത്തയും തരംതിരിച്ചിടുന്നതും, ഉമ്മറം അടിച്ചുവാരി വല്ലത്തിൽ ( ഓലകൊണ്ട് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ കുട്ട ) ഇട്ട് കത്തിച്ചു കളയുന്നതും പണ്ടത്തെ സ്ഥിരം കാഴ്ചകൾ ആയിരുന്നു. ഇന്നത്തെ തലമുറ കാണാതേയും അറിയാതേയും പോയ കുറെ കാഴ്ചകൾ.

സലാം അലൈക്കും ഉസ്മാനെ. ഉണ്ട് ഉസ്മാനെ ഓലപ്പുരയിലുള്ള ചെറുപ്പ കാലം എങ്ങനെ മറക്കും. പുര മേയുന്ന ദിവസം ഒരു ഉത്സവം പോലെ ആയിരുന്നു ഞങ്ങൾക്ക്. എന്തെല്ലാമോ നേടിയ ഒരു തോന്നലും. പുര മേഞ്ഞ പിറ്റേന്ന് പള്ളിക്കൂടത്തിൽ ചെന്നാൽ പിന്നെ അതായിരിക്കും കൂട്ടുകാരോട് വിശേഷം പറച്ചിൽ. പൊളിച്ചെടുത്ത പഴയ ഓലയിൽ നിന്നും വീഴുന്ന ചുവപ്പ് കളർ ഉള്ള അട്ടയെ പേടി ആയിരുന്നു. പഴയ ഓല അയൽവാസികൾക്ക് ഒക്കെ വീതിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുമായിരുന്നു അടുപ്പിൽ തീ കത്തിക്കാൻ. അയൽവാസികളും സഹകരിക്കും പുരമേയാൻ. അങ്ങനെ വീടിനെയും, വീട്ടുകാരെയും, പരിസരത്തെയും, മഴയെയും ഒക്കെ ഒത്തിരി സ്നേഹിച്ചു വളർന്ന നമ്മുടെ ഒക്കെ കുട്ടിക്കാലം. മറക്കില്ലൊരിക്കലും.

I was born and bought up from rural place. It's been like 7, 8years I'm staying in city. While i was living in village i was so excited of going to big cities but now i just feel like going back to my village in cities you'll see less humanity and more evil. Village Life is always the best no stress, just a peaceful life.
