I got mine in Ocean Flame color (you can see it in all my videos up to this day). Buying it was a great decision. I’m grateful for your help through this video
I've got all kinds of guitars. I love them all. My HB SC custom II has now three plus years. It's my Swiss army axe, I can jazz I can shred. I can do acoustic. I love it
Great video very easy to follow just bought that same guitar today loved the lemon color been waiting for an EVH stealth that's on backorder too ..rewarding myself for living in 2020
Very nice review and playing Sasha. I have the SC550 in Paradise City Flame. I love how the thing feels and sounds. Traded in my 2020 Epiphone Les Paul Custom for an EVH Wolfgang because the Harley Benton is all I need for that Les Paul sound.
Just got one of these this week. I agree with the review. Seems many of the reviewers got strap locks with theirs, mine did not but then again its not in the description on the Thoman website. Love the neck and clean tones. Does not feel like a LP though and is more ergonomic in design nor is it that heavy, not compared to my HB TE52 anyway.
from what I can see/hear through the obvious limitations of an youtube video, to me it sounds like the tone control is good-for-nothing, except coil split... I actually liked that. But the guitar sounded amazing and looks gorgeous.
@@SRguitar I have this exact model and I also have the black Floyd Rose version. I originally bought a pair of Iron Gear Rolling Mill pickups for this one and an Iron Gear Dirty Torque (b) and Blues Engine (n) combo for the Floyd. Finally I swapped them around to get the result I was most happy with thus this one now has the Dirty Torque/Blues Engine combo and sounds great to me. I was never happy with the Roswell LAFs, lacked musicality, definition and clarity to me.
I have an Epiphone Les Paul Special II Slash edition guitar and this looks like a pretty good copy. I think the Harley Benton sounds better than the Epiphone.
I have the MkI with the original Wilkinson PUPS but now come with Roswell's but I don't see any difference between the MKI and MKII guitars, apart from the Harry Potteresque font!
Seems to be a lack of bass on those pick-ups. I noticed it on other videos too. Maybe it needs drive and eq pedals but then it's not the guitar you're hearing. Finish flaws too. Budget guitars over £200 in 2022 should not have finish imperfections. Thomann need to look over their shoulders at their competitors' in house brands.
The colors on the Thoman website make these guitars look terrible... They look so much nicer on UA-cam... Probably hurts their sales to have such bad pictures on the website.
These reviews are great and all but when I hear THEY sent me one I cringe. I mean they are cheap and QC is a bit over the place. It would be a lot more fair to randomly order a guitar to see what you'd get. Me and a friend ordered 2 older HB450 Les Paul's with the Wilkinson branded pickups. One was OK and the other one had the bridge drilled as a lefthand on a righthand guitar. Low E side tilted forward. This slipped though QC somehow.
I've heard about issues with QC but I got lucky. I bought the SC Custom for $170 just before the series II was announced and mine was absolutely perfect, besides a few minor cosmetic flaws - that were also on my Epiphone at over twice the price. My buddy ordered a bass and never even got it, they somehow triple charged his account and then his bank refused the transaction as fraud. Left a bad taste in his mouth about the brand so he went with something else. My experience was great, they even let me change my shipping options after the order was completed.

I am torn between this SC Custom II and the SC 550 II. I have to make up my mind by July...
Review has info about guitar weight - i press like
Haha!
Me TOO
Do you still have this guitar and play it ?
Even the previous version is great. But the improved upper fret access is just sick on the new model.

Great to hear that you are satisfied with the HB-guitars too! ;)
It reminds me a lot of the LTD EC-256, and that's not a bad thing at all.
With the better comfortcarves its more like my EC-1000
Great video! Thx. I think it is so light because it is so slim to f.e. a SC-550.
Yeah that’s right, it’s definitely slimmer than a standard SC
I got the very last p90 sc custom ii...it's awesome.
Superb demo Sash! Wow.
Thank You! :)
Awesome review and Guitar sounds very good , how it goes with half step down ( guns n roses tuning ) and drop C tuning ?
Very nice performance, congratulations....
Looks/sounds like a nice instrument Sasha! \m/
That should be +- the same guitar of my epiphone Les Paul standard pro, but for a half of the price.

How are ya liking the TE-52 ?
Just got mine and it came with strap locks, weird
@@averyplaysguitar how do you like it and are you still playing it ?
like Slash, your playing is great, love the Guitar, great video. Thanks
That opening jam was awesome !!
Thank you 😊
Another HB that plays and sounds so much more expensive. Nice video
Oh yeah! Thanks!
Great performance! Bravo!!!
Back in my day good guitars were expensive.

Danke
Damn. I think this video just made me buy a new guitar (although im going to get the one with the floyd rose on it) and a patreon membership.
Great that i could help you with that video!
Thank you a lot for the support!
I have the same guitar which I changed the pickups on.
That’s cool! Which pickups did you put in?

Great review/demo!
Good review!! Bought it!!!
Is it a thing of a beauty or what?

Its also the gear you use
I don’t think that all. Of anything the Epiphone’s are a step above the HB’s not that the HB’s are bad. I have plenty of them.
Hallo Sascha

This guitar looks identical to a Carlos Santana signature PRS o saw for sale on Kijiji a couple months ago.

I always thought the font looks like the font in the Purple Rain album.
Upper fret access
No coil split on my Wilkenson equipped SC-Custom from 2016-17. I would like that feature. The logo is not an issue either way.

what song is that you played when you split the coil with the hammer ons at 7:16 . i recognize it but can't put my finger on it.
Slow dancing in a burning room by John Mayer :)

Hello. Pickups too moody. Need to replace. Btw, nice video
That headstock shape ruins it for me
Lol really
Seriously?
