This exact thing happened to me last weekend. Guest refused to return my car. Was weird from the start of their trip. Swindling the system. Long story short, I had to report my car stolen, track it down. I saw the renter zipping through my city from one end to the other all day at very high speeds. I found him, called the police and drugs were found in my vehicle. Awful experience

@@aymenem5304 Generally if the police stopped the car and found drugs, they would arrest whoever was in it at the time. It'd be a good idea to make sure the cars are clean of anything illegal if someone abandons one or leaves a bunch of junk in i, just in case you get stopped after you retrieve it!

OMG I’m glad you covered this, had a similar situation but my car was abandoned had to go find it myself. Guest got arrested, luckily there was no paraphernalia. So far I’m really pleased how Turo takes care of these situations. Thank you 😊 !!

This is how my car looked after my car was stolen in Anaheim. Drugs, stolen goods, they egged my car, etc... people are so disgusting

Registration isn’t required in all states , the police can run the plate for that info.

We deal with customers like this all the time . Just part of the business I guess. As long as I get paid, I don’t care who gets locked up and what they do.
Has you ever had a car vandalized, damaged, torn up? How did you handle it?
@@naps3386 Many times, many different scenarios. Recent one, Had people jump on the roof and cave it in on a Maserati. I have experience getting everything back to original condition. So I just file the claim, have Turo payout on the claim and I do the repairs myself. I have many trips that start with a 2-300 rental and turn into 2-3grand easily.

@@prettypenni7448 No worries, it’s cool. As long as you do your part in the beginning and cover yourself from all angles, you’ll be covered for anything done by guest. All depends on what insurance plan you have, is what you will pay out of pocket, or if you get lucky and guest offers to work it out with you. Which is 1 out of 10 that will if that.

I worked for Enterprise as a branch manager for almost 7 years and I have had enough of those 😆 Those criminals are crazy enough to say that they got busted because we rented them a black Sienna instead of white

They police had search the car that’s why you see the mess and fuse box open they were looking for drugs
I was thinking that or they were trying to find a fuse for the GPS/wifi/cellular modem to disable any other tracking capabilities.

I’m starting to feel like BMWs or a magnet for all kinds of riffraff. If you go to Turo forms and listen to other host I would say at least if not more than 50% of the issues they have with vehicles above junker cars are going to be BMWs

Turo doesnt have a good system to prove a smell (e.g. smoke/vape/dope). I've had my share. What's your experience in handling dope smokers? For the record: I tell each and every guest "i don't care if you smoke dope, just don't make my car smell like it".
Buy an ozone machine and do it yourself Take good pics because these folks leave evidence everywhere. Turo easily pays out.
