  • In this video I show you how to make a wood sign on a 24" ribbon and carve outset numbers in a cloud background. This is an easy technique that looks spectacular. I carved this wood sign with a handheld router and a 60 degree and 90 degree bit.
I buy my bits from the following places, I'll leave the links here:
The first place you need to look for all your wood sign supplies is here: www.makeawoodsign.com/shop/
On Amazon, this is a great combination 60/90 degree bit. Purchase it here: amzn.to/2IJ9N9t
Please visit my biggest inspirations, Eric, Dave and Vicki Rhoten at www.makeawoodsign.com or on UA-cam at / oldave100
I hope you enjoy the video and I look forward to your comments.

    Greetings from Australia
The sign looks great and what a neat approach to freehand the letters.

Hi, this one was on Western Red Cedar but I've used many types from pine to ash. Cedar carves very nicely and lasts a long time. I tend to used shallow cuts, anywhere form 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep. These ones were 3/16 inch deep. Best of luck!
