Maybe because she did 85% of the vocals on overload and they wanted the other 2 girls to shine as well. I mean Overload gave Mutya like 15 seconds and Keisha had 0 lines
Pretty much every TOTP act was lip synced. Far easier to produce as no need to have audio engineers and technicians. A few acts specifically asked to perform live tho.

It’s just that heidi was there for a long time and most of their hits were with her on them,S only did the first album before leaving the group but she easily could’ve done all the other songs just like she does them now that they’ve reunited. This right here is the vocal trinity. Heidi could never do what S does vocally.
