Thank you for the information. It is very useful. I live in New York City. Last time I visited Nigeria I was scammed by those people who change money outside the airport on arrival. I changed $600 with a man outside the airport on arrival. When I got to my hotel four points by Sheraton at Victoria Island My money was missing 64 thousand naria. Rita New York City W
Fine well done.... But the headline is not perfect.... It should sound like ... How to change money in Nigeria. BETTER WAYS OF CHANGING MONEY... YOU ARE AMAZING WITH YOUR EXPRESSION, AND YOU ARE ALSO BEAUTIFUL.💐💐💐💝😍
God remember you and your family and bless you for your work and your Channel i encourage you to Always be in this positive way its this word ! Thanks you Mrs !
Great tips, I 100% agree. I will also encourage getting a Nigerian bank account if you can because like Sassy stated, it's better to transfer money directly into your account. Also, if you get a domiciliary account, you can send money directly to yourself using World Remit and other apps so you don't have to bring a bunch of cash into the country. I prefer changing as I go and just withdraw dollars at the bank when needed.
@Flaki 😎 Thanks for sharing. I didn't say not to bring cash, but I stated "a bunch" meaning huge amounts. Also I haven't had issues withdrawing dollars from a domiciliary account, so perhaps it may depend on where you are located in the country. I'm sure people will do what works best for themselves.
Nice info Sassy…. My best advice for people is to get some better app online and use this app to transfer money directly to their Naija’s account or trusted person account so that once the land, they have enough to spend. It has worked for me such as this app the Remit Chioce
Funke you said you wanted a comment to make you smile; how about something like this 😂, smiling already? That was insightful great job. Btw have known those BDCs located around Eko hotel, Federal Palace VI etc like forever 😜
I'm glad I found you, because I was thinking about to bring a thousand dollars. But now, that change...thanks for the great tip. I can't wait to explore in Lagos soon.
Hey Sassy… hmm, a flattering comment, eh? Aside from your extremely helpful and timely information, engaging and well-spoken manner and very peasant demeanor, you are extremely pleasant to the eyes of this Oyinbo 😉. Keep up your important work here and looking forward to your next video!
My experience is that anything under $100 is given a lower rate. I'm currently in Lagos since December 2nd, and I get NGN 730 for $100 and NGN 620 for $50, 20, and 10.
Ok. In Kenya USD100 & 50 notes are considered higher value & have better rates, if you have the others get lower rates. Also the series matter most too just like there- 2008 and above most preferred. As even the bureaus give you these series not lower.... some accept to exchange but at lower rate... For the GBP it's std rate for any denomination coz it is a very strong currency.
Great tips. Most people who have never been to Nigeria would not know. BTW, you said to drop a nice complimentary comment: you have a nice glowing smile.
Hello beautiful Sassy Funke, I definitely always enjoy your channel and I wish I could come home this years but can’t. Definitely love your videos and wishing you and your family a wonderful and fabulous Christmas in Nigeria 🇳🇬. 🇳🇬🇯🇲🇺🇸🇯🇲🇳🇬🇯🇲🇺🇸🇺🇸🇳🇬🇯🇲🇺🇸
Thank you Sassy for the great video. I used to contact the guys at Eko hotel via my husband, but when the NIN rules came in the number my husband was using for his contact was not working anymore. Any chance you can share the contact number? I’ll be in Naija for Xmas this year .. can’t wait! 🎉❤
Hotels and airport people always undercut you. If you're in the Ikeja area and have a Naira account, I have some trusted guys I've been dealing with for years that can assist.
Yes Sassy, I always go with bdc's with permanent structures if I am at the airport. I also recommend direct bank transfers. It's easier and safer. I will take note of using higher denominations and newer series. Thanks as always for the valuable content. Enjoy the holidays with your family.
You need to complete a “Permit to travel to Nigeria “ form online prior to boarding. It will ask you to enter your vaccination status and upload your certificate for over 18.
Hi, Sassy Funke, Sorry to ask this question which does not relate to changing money. I saw in one of your contents that you don't have to generate QR code before going to Nigeria, does that mean we do not have to fill NITP form anymore.
How many countries use pounds and dollars as their currencies? And How many countries use euro as their currencies? Then u will know why ur slave masters/ colonial masters is still at work in Nigeria.
She doesn't know what she is talking about. $ and € are the most common currency in Nigeria not £. I think that's why pounds is higher in Nigeria exchange.
@@blessingenobahkare5841 Many times i watch her video and i just laugh, to say Pounds is more popular than Euro in Nigeria is insane, the Aboki she shows in her video was interviewed by her a year ago i think, the rate at the BDC at the airport is the same anywhere in Lagos.
Where can I find a place outside the airport to change money? I had hard time finding last time I was there. The banks we went to wouldn't change money
The UK side must be declared but the Naija side na Man known man, if your friend has Naira notes physically like 20k-30k naira notes, it would come handy in the Airport, if you know what i mean😄
Nigerians or Nigerian banking sector is promoting so much illegalities regarding the serial number stuff and smaller denominations , travellers also encorage it cos if i want to change, i would add the smaller notes, if you calculate the smaller notes differently, i refuse transaction , that's all.
This is goofy ….. money is money it spends the same in the US the value is the value it doesn’t lose its value.. so believe the person spending that money is getting every value of that dollar

There's a shortage of forex in Nigeria right now and it's very difficult to withdraw $/£ from domiciliary accounts. Better to bring the physical cash

Hi dear, sorry this is off topic, but have you heard that Covid rules in Nigeria have been scrapped?
Scrapped? How? Fully vaccinated? No need for post-arrival test. That's about the only change I am aware of.
