Thanks for a very informative video. I'm new to airbrushing and will be primarily be painted railroad cars. Just picked up an Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS and haven't found a lot of tutorials on siphon feed brushes. Yours was very useful. Thanks
Can't see Iwata's Chinese production facility making a bad airbrush. I have a gravity feed Tamiya rebadge OEM Sparmax (Iwata) collab, no doubt made in the same facility. Superb value and works very well. Also have a several other airbrushes including Badger's venerable 150 syphon feed. Syphon feed works well. My first airbrush it served me faithfully for two decades as my only airbrush back in the day when they were exorbitantly expensive. I don't like the plastic bottle of the Neo. Available as an accessory for those wanting multiple paint cups for different colours for their artwork? Yes. For plastic model hobbyists, it's naff. I think the former looking for greater cup volume in conjunction with higher pressures is the target demographic they are pitching the product at. However IMV Iwata should have coupled it with a metal cup similar to the one the base model Badger 150 comes with as a primary cup rendering it a useful alternative for modelers. The alternate additional supplied with the base 150 as was packaged is a single glass jar with a metal cap catering for both type of user. That said, pretty sure Iwata will have done their market research homework noting the trend in internet forums is to promote gravity feed as akin the holy grail -99% of the time by those who have never pickup up a quality double action syphon feed just regurgitating the mythology they read somewhere.
