    Superb troubleshooting skills. Thank you Stefan for taking apart the diode ring mixer! That is what separates you from other techs who simply replace the faulty component. Like you, I need to explore further and SEE what's inside and where the problem is. 73 OM

    Spannend von der ersten bis zur letzten Minute - bestes Abendprogramm - wieder viel dazu gelernt. Einen Ringmixer auf dem Seziertisch von innen zu sehen, ist schon grosses Kino - herzlichen Dank Stefan, 73 Jürgen

    An interest problem - well done! Another thank you for opening the mixer and showing us what's inside. I often tell components to stay while testing them, but they never listen to me either. Regards, David

    I have understood only 30%, but its clear that thorough and systematic troubleshooting must bring good result.

    Interesting fault. Probably the same static discharge killed the front diode and the mixer too.

      Seems so, because the owner confirmed thunderstorms and lightnings. Have to check the surge gas arrester in the input also, which is not shown in the diagrams.
