Hi @Maven I've seen a lot of videos and I'm still confused, so I appreciate your opinion. I have a Plan that is composed by several projects. Projects are carried out by a single team, but each project has different stakeholders. What I would like to have is something like a tree organization. The team would have access to all the documentation and information of any of the projects but stakeholders would only have access to information relating to their project. I thought I'd create one site per project and one Hub site to aggregate all projects. Do you consider this the best way to organize or do you have a better suggestion? Regards, Joao
@@SharePointMaven so, I have to create a site for each project and create a HUB Site facilitate the navigation and communication of the development team within the various projects. That's it?
Hi SharePoint Maven! I am curious, the company I work for has sub-sites for our regions and then sub-sites within those sub-sites for each client site in that region. For the structure of this (we are beginning our move to Hub-Sites and Modern SharePoint) do you recommend creating a region hub-site with each region having sub-sites for the clients? Or something else?
Hi Nester, there is no right or wrong answer here - it really depends on how you want navigation to work. If each region is independent - you can then create a Hub for each. If you need one common navigation for all - then 1 hub
@@SharePointMaven Alright that makes sense. I appreciate your quick response. You make amazing material for SharePoint admins so thank you! Keep up the good work and stay safe!
Hello SharePoint Maven, I was wondering if it is possible to nest hub sites? An example of this would be a hub site for the company intranet, and then additional hub sites for different departments that are linked back to the company intranet.
This was excellent, thank-you. What are the recommendations for tying hub sites together? What would your "landing" page be for the intranet? Also, if you're wanting to create document stores with strict permissions (like a "Partners" Hub Site with strict permissions and a "Technology Department" Hub Site with different permissions (presumably, they all become available in OneDriveForBusiness?), can you do that? Do you still use "subsites" at all?
Hello Greg. Is it possible to associate a hub to another hub? Like having an Intranet hub for company comms but then other hub for the different departments associated to the intranet one? Thank you
Thank you very much for this excellent explanation. I was able to understand about the Hub Sites. Does any feature share across site collection in the hub site condition?
Thankyou for this explanation. I've been trying to decide what I actually need and wondered if you van help. There are 4 of us who want to share calendars, contacts and files. We want local access as well as online and all to sync. One of us lives in an area of very poor broadband hence the local requirement and another commutes alot with no broadband. What should we use? Teams (local?) One drive withoffice 365 for calenadrs etc. Please help. Thanks
All of these applications require an internet connection. The only thing you can access without broadband are documents if you decide to sync them via OneDrive sync
@@SharePointMaven Understood. So should I use a Sharepoint site for the files and sync OneDrive to that or sync One Drive through Teams. I'm thinking sharing calendars etc at the same time so permisiions could be handles by Teams
On the hub site, is it possible to have a link drop down similar to classic? In your classic example, you had Departments then a drop down with links. Possible?
How do you Add Multiple Links to the hub navigation when I follow the steps i was able to add one but now I only see the option to edit no option to Add New
@@SharePointMaven When i click edit there is no option to add another I only see a toggle to *Enable site navigation audience targeting* at the bottom and at the top I see the 1st link I added with an ellipse but the only options there are Edit and Remove

Hub Sites are just for navigation. If you need unique security on each site, you need to set its own security/permissions separately.

very informative... just one simple question, Can i use a communication site as a Hub Site?
Thanks for the feedback, Ryan. Yes, of course, Comm Site usually is the best candidate for the Parent Hub Site due to its look and feel and design.
@@SharePointMaven Thanks!!!
@@ryantizon8154 Sure thing
You show in your outlook a complete integration of Teams, like Files, Planner and so on, how to I set it like this?
It is already set up for you automatically when you create a group site
What site template did you use for your hub site? I like the clean look but I cant figure out which one it is.
It is a Communication Site Template: sharepointmaven.com/office-365-group-or-communication-site/

On the hub site, is it possible to have a link drop down similar to classic? In your classic example, you had Departments then a drop down with links. Possible?
Yes, you have to change the style of the menu from Mega Menu to drop-down (in Change the Look)
is there a way to add permissions to a group and then have that apply to all sites within the hub?
You can only sync Hub Permissions using way described here: sharepointmaven.com/how-to-sync-hub-permissions-to-the-associated-sites/
How can you see site hub calendar events on other sites associated with it?
You need to tweak the setting of the Events Web Part to roll up events from associated sites
There is a new security trimming you can apply for hub navigations, details here, ua-cam.com/video/_01qnxyvKis/v-deo.html
Yes, Audience Targeting, I recorded a video on that already as well: ua-cam.com/video/WTEOB1HEt2k/v-deo.html
