Pretty much and I call my T@G a "Bed on wheels." When I got mine in 2015, there weren't any factory boondock versions yet. So I'm currently in the process now of converting mine to a boondocking T@G, but without the microwave
@@coyoteself I really don't understand why they can't give a option without microwave. Especially for Boondocking. What a loss of valuable storage space!
@@shontoo6979 A dealer can install a kit that removes the microwave and puts in matching cabinetry to give you more storage space. I agree that the microwave is kinda silly and useless.
as for the cooler is I bought an ice maker and make my own ice. another trick for the yeti cooler is have another to put drinks in that you get in and out of a lot. Don`t keep opening the yeti cooler and the ice will last for a couple days depending on the weather outside, Also I have the Nucamp Tag XL boonedock and the only thing I wish it had was an outside 110 outlet. I personally don`t like the 3 inch matresse`s that come with it. I have a foldable cot I use that sets up 8 inches off the floor and it allows you to store items under it. And as for the sink drain yes it does drain strait to the ground but you can drain into a bucket or container or you can ad a garden hose to drain it away from camper. also I am going to pick me up a colapsable hose so you dont have to carry a bulky water hose around with you all the time if you go somewhere to have electric and water hookup. Also make sure you always have a water pressure reducer for these. some campgrounds have high water pressure and the tag xl can only handle up to 50 psi water pressure. I carry 2 of these.
Enjoy watching you guys. You really showed the truth of how the kitchen worked, the sink and stove were too high for use and that door needed a rope to pull down..
It just depends on your height. I am 5'7" and had NO problems reaching up and pulling down the hatch. It is a great trailer for those looking for quick weekend getaway.
There's storage under the beds. It's actually quite a lot. I'm getting one on Friday, but not the XL or the Boondock. The kitchen is closer to the ground with the smaller wheels.
In a rain situation the large door would shelter you and your kitchen but most folks will set up a tarp system or some other type of shelter as this type of trailer is used with a much more outdoor style of camping then most RV trailers. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching
Nice look at the 2021 T@g! As far as the sink question, you are correct. There is a drain under the sink. We typically connect a small length of hose to it (approximately 1ft), and run that into a collapsable bucket. Then we just empty the bucket as necessary.
You know that is exactly it. For the right person this could be the best weekend rig ever! You are going to end up like me with one of every type, haha. Thanks for watching.
@@DoesSizeMatter I'd guess that within a year most of these buyer's will be up grading, that much for just just a place to sleep off the ground is nuts.
You can rent a practically brand new one of these on Outdoorsy for about $80 a day, I think I'll try one out for a weekend, I'm anxious to see how much it effects the range of my ID4 AWD EV, I'm expecting about a 40% range reduction, so about 150 mile range with the trailer
That's a great idea and we would love to hear how it goes. You also need to consider the weight of cargo you bring, like water, food and your stuff but it would be an interesting experiment and we look forward to the results. Let us know and thanks for watching

@@DoesSizeMatter Your welcome. 2021 do have a more usable stove. Also, my 12v frig only last a day on battery, so I use a Yeti 40 qt in the back of my Colorado.
That’s about what we paid as well for our 2018... Ours came with a Norcold fridge and I’m glad we have it... We tried not to run it while dry camping, but we bought a second battery that we swap out and we run the fridge now on and off during the daytime... We also treated ourselves to a jackery solar generator that will run the fridge if necessary. The Yakima rack on.the xl can hold two kayaks. The T@Gxl is perfect for us.
At $27,000 to $33,000, it doesn't look like Ill be trading in my 2015 T@G for a newer (slightly ) larger XL Boondock and yes the sink does drain straight out to the ground
They are pricy but they seem to be selling well so I guess folks think they are worth it. We hope you are enjoying the one you have. Thanks for confirming the drainage situation. We get that it isn't unheard of to drain a sink to the ground, it's just not our personal preference. We would even rather see a bucket put in place to capture the drainage for it to be disposed of elsewhere. No need to attract bugs, rodents or bigger things and it would just be nicer for the camper that comes into the spot next. We appreciate you sharing and thanks for watching
@@papa54321 We have not researched that model so we can't speak to how much space or amenities it has but you asked about boondocking in the T@G XL so that was what we were answering. Most other RVs are self contained and work great for boondocking.
