I did Kickstart last fall and I am starting Animation Bootcamp next week so I thought it would be good idea to watch SoM tutorials to warm up. I really appreciate how you explain everything without talking down to the viewer. This is so freaking exciting and useful. Thank you!
What a neat trick to do complex camera moves -my life will never be the same. It is also very refreshing to see someone tackle a bigger project, addressing all the challenges that come with it. Thank you, sincerely!
Your tutorials are amazing. I can watch other tutorials that make these crazy complicated visuals but it just feels like I’m following a recipe without knowing the “why” behind everything. After I watch your tutorials I always come out with a game changing skill that I’ve been struggling with I.e. pre-composing or graph editing. Thanks for your awesome work and outstanding teaching!
I think this tutorial just shaved at least two months off my learning curve. Seeing the decision making and the whys and hows is so valuable. It’s like a cheat for all the messy trial and error I’d be struggling along with. THANK YOU!
I just found this video because I wanted to improve my Kinetic skills and I'm so thankful! You rly are a good teacher, thank you! might consume all your videos after this haha
WARNING!!! The title of the video is misleading!! I came here to learn kinetic typography. Instead I learned a pack of really useful information while following the construction of an actual project, from tiny "secret" tips to big boss "monsters" helping me work easier better and more effective. Best part - is speaking your creative ideas aloud. Thank you for great tutorials. The best around!
You guys are a true mentor who's a big heart and helping mind. Your teaching style is really awesome. So many new things I am learning through the tutorials. I can't express how much I am grateful to you. Even I have made up my mind learning all the tutorials I may get a premium course from you. Then I will ask which course will suit me. There are 160 tutorials except for podcasts & interviews. So by adopting those tutorials, I may step to an intermediate level, then which course you suggest I go for. Not now but next year (In sha Allah). Thanks, Thanks, Thanks,.................. a lot.
It's a truly awesome tutorial. I don't see a lot of likes on other parts of it. Probably, mostly people search short & sweet tuts, but they will never learn as much as you can learn from this long video with all process explanation. So great thanks from my side that you show up this tut pay free!
Except for your description of how a foot falls for walking... that was the exact opposite of what actually happens in a normal gait cycle. Should be heal first, then ball, then toes. I realise this is practically irrelevant but I'm still here.
This is awesome- basic question though- when you set the purple background you had a highlighted background on top, how did you make this? Was is a a preset you can add or did you make it in illustrator? Thanks!
Great tutorial as always. Thank you Joey. I've notest that as you add the second null (move02), it changes something in the first one. that's why the sudden hitch occurred. I was wondering how to solve it in a way, that you don't have to go back and correct the hitch again. because it the best way to control the camera and combine movement from one to the other.
so.... I don't really know what I just did, but when I created the second move again (about 30 times :)), the hitch didn't occurred. But I'll still be happy to get the 'How to do it right and override the hitch' explanation
01:07:00 When I duplicate the null and parent the first null to the second one... it screws up my motion path 😭 even after I fix the Y-axis like in your video
@@schoolofmotion I haven't, it sounds exciting. Thank you for the tutorials, they are very helpful and atm I'm editing my first kinetic typography video.

that last tip about using nulls to control the camera was very interesting!

Soooo good tutorial, even after almost 4 years :) Thank You
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge man and to do it the way you do it. Very pleasant to hear, very precise, very generous. Love you
My favourite movie ever! Great tutorial, thank you ☺️
really helpful with camera nulls thanks you
You're very welcome.
Best Nuke tutorial I've ever seen!
Thank you for these TOP notch tutorials, they really are among the very best out there. Brilliant
Great tutorial. I learned a lot of great tips!
you remind me of hank from breaking bad. i loved the tutorial. probably will consume all your videos in the next few days.
great tutorial but one question? whose heel lands after the front part and toes? that's a weird way to walk.
It helps me a lot. Thanks for your job.
I'm curious who walks landing on the front of their foot first, unless they are trying to be sneaky.
I love this format, tnx :D
Hi! Thank you for this tutorial, but the project files' download link aren't getting sent to my email.
How you guys don't have more subscribers and more likes I will never know. Great stuff!

1:06:29 Thanks for finding that problem. The real torture would start if you didn't find it :D Awesome tutorial! I am excited for the rest
love the quality of this video and the channel
Is there tutorial on the moving words “a nutcase?” Part where the text sort of moves in a 3d perspective?
You are the GOAT
learned alot. Thanks
This is just awesome

Yeah, how did you do this? It seems useful!
I would do it by creating a circle and then adding a ton of gaussian blur
Great tutorial. Top notch tips man, thanks a lot \o/
Thank you!

@@gurshalom8557 Maybe you can answer for me - why is it even necessary to parent Move 01 to Move 02?
@@smshh33 Because if you don't, the camera will stay without parent
Thank you so much! :))
very useful!
excellent.

this tutorial is god
Hello! Particular effect is missing. Without it how can I complete this tutorial? :) :/ It's a third party, paid plug-in.
crack it
@1:02:55 What were you about to do with the middle keyframes had the animation turned out choppy? Rove across time or auto bezier?
A null layer keeps on being created in my comp(Footstep_arc)on using Scale Composition script. Please help to use this scrip without any bug
this is just awesome.....
38:03 that's the only thing i didn't understand .. Maybe someone in the future could explain me this...
Movie name is "The Neverending Story".
Thank you sir
awsome sir
awesome!
Non of the any tutorial project file is working, it's some sort of strange z-file-compressor is there, which my windows platform does not recognize.
try just changing the file extension to .zip. It should work fine.
Wow, worked. Thanks man
can i use for my youtube intro?
Did you wake up in the morning and record this or did you not sleep all night, because I can see that it's 6 am? Was just wondering.
We wake up early at SoM. Have you heard of the #21earlydays challenge?

Looks like a radial ramp.
Did you actually do this at 5:39am?
This is a good watch so far but good god that app that keeps jumping up from the bottom right is driving me crazy
Download's not working, even tried installing the older version of aftereffect.
Hi Fashina! Please reach out to our support team : support@schoolofmotion.com
lmao 100k+ people watched the first part then 32k on the second and 16k at the 3rd part
How called the style of your intro?
We can call that a quick shape experiment. We had a more complex one storyboarded but time got away from us.
project file not showing in cs6 version
Are you using a modern CC version of After Effects?
@@schoolofmotion no cs6
