Most underrated player of all time. He's a top 10-15 (higher in my book but I'm trying to as objective as possible) but no one sees it but Flyers fans and non-Flyer haters.
Claude Giroux is my favorite player and I was at the Boston game where he did the fake between the legs to a backhand goal in overtime

That's 2 years ago... his best season ever with 102 pts... he's aiming for maybe 60 this year. He's never had and never will have a 50 goal season.
B B 1) 102 points is a fantastic season 2) Claude giroux doesn’t have as many points this season bc the system has changed to where he’s not as relied on, same with coots. Last year they were each playing like 25 minutes a game and the main offensive players. This year giroux plays less than 20 a game and they have one of the most deep offensive teams in the league, so giroux doesn’t have to be the only one scoring. New coach, new system, and all players have their own roles that work to make this team successful. 3) Better watch out if playoffs do happen this year. giroux will leave it all on that ice knowing this is his best chance at the cup yet. Dude has more heart than any player in the league. 4) Obviously he’ll never have a 50 goal season, but he has more 50 assist seasons than just about anyone currently in the nhl.

2) I disagree. He's slown down a lot, so has Voracek... that's why Coots has less points. He's less relied on because he's not having a great season. Giroux is my favorite player man I'm not bashing him. He's just not that good anymore. He can't keep.up in speed anymore... I sure hope you're right about the playoffs.
B B the lack of speed this year has definitely been noticeable, but I’ve thought that about giroux before, after his 58 point 2016-17 season I thought he was declining, and so did most people. Also, idk if you’re much of an advanced statistics guy (I’m not too big into advanced stats )but from that perspective this has been giroux’s most complete season. His possession metrics were insane this season and it’s hard to ignore. I don’t think he’s getting worse, he may be getting slower, but he’s adjusted his style and is playing a more complete game. This has been his best defensive season by far. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what the playoffs (or next season) brings.
B B also, couturier is playing just as good as he did last year, he’s just playing 3 minutes a game less than he did last season so his point totals aren’t as high. In voraceks case, he’s played better than he did last season, especially defensively. He’s also playing like 2 minutes a game less but producing points at the same rate per 60 minutes of ice time. Alain is rolling all 4 lines, giving the bottom 6 legitimate ice time, and it’s a main reason why the flyers are so deep when it comes to scoring. He’s found a balance within the roster that would have allowed giroux and couturier to play 20+ minutes of ice time in the playoffs and not be drained. Playing them sooo much in the regular season in the past, giving it their all just to make the playoffs, and then expecting them to keep doing in the first round, never worked out well. I like giroux better now than I did last season, points are not everything.

Jack Finn I'm not sure how he wasn't a hart trophy finalist this year tbh. Seriously though, I can see Giroux leading the Flyers to a cup in the next five years and possibly reaching 40 goals.
It's because he such a great passer. I mean, look at every player that plays on his line. They end up being the leading goal scorers most of the time. And, he's a great 200ft player. He's the best face-off guy by a lot. He's the best passer. His hands are only bested by Johnny Hockey and Kaner. His shot is actually really good. He kills penalties. He blocks shots. He'll get in the odd fight if he has to but he will hit. He's faster than he seems. He's super clutch. I think he's the most well-rounded player in the NHL. No other player puts up his level of points and does all of the other stuff. His hockey IQ is second to none. He sees 3 plays ahead.
Console MonsterX thanks so much for posting this. I’ve always felt this about Giroux but people love to shit on him. He’s actually pretty fast but he doesn’t seem like it. He’s just been the most consistent player in the last 10 yrs or so. He does it all and I’m really hoping he brings the cup home to philly before his career is over. Of course now that we are so close the nhl shuts down. Haha
