She possesses every kind of timber, tone and nuance in her voice, and can vocalize these simultaneously. She can reinvent a song and its tempo and improvise in ways that no one has ever been able to come close to. What an artist .her records for Decca,verve Pablo .the Decca ones often forgotten . .my least favorites ,cole Porter ,Richard Rodgers,still fine .her Gershwin ,so superb ,particularly what she and Nelson Riddle do with Man ,I love . Ofcourse Chris Connor ,Sarah could be cited with recordings Back to the Ella ,her greatest one being Ellington ,Strayhorn being her greatest .then all her live concerts .her recordings will never die
