I have this book and have read it many times, I also have your book of 70 sonnets for the Christian year, you truly are a great poet and literary genius Malcolm, thank you for bringing your work and the work of others to light in such unique ways, you have truly inspired me to find my own literary creativeness
Dear Malcolm: In the spring of 2019, seven months after my dear wife’s passing, I journeyed to Canada’s west coast to visit my actual brother and to meet you, my new brother! This pilgrimage was the dawn of a life altering transformation. As I told you in the book store at Regents’ College, your poetry, literary commentary, and theology helped me through many dark months of solitude and sorrow during my wife’s long illness and the lonely, cold winter months that followed. It was a thrill to meet you then, and since that time you have been a faithful companion and mentor. Although nowhere near as prodigious as you’ve been, I have been busy creating poetry and song! Thank you for your light and inspiration! Your brother always! Reid.
Malcolm, my brother. I’m now one of those North Americans that have found and enjoy your work. I recently bought and read through your Sounding The Seasons, I shall return to it often. Just beautiful. Cheers.
Dear Malcolm, you are a blessing to my life. I want very much to read your books. Especially this one.. Lifting the Veil.. so beautiful. I just purchased it, will wait for it with anticipation. Thank you for inspiring me, such an appreciated gift. Best wishes to you from Idaho.🌹
Wow - profound. Your introductory words were great, but when you started into your poem it became sublime. Of course, why haven't we noticed how prophetic those words are? Thank you for bringing this to our thoughts.
Lifting the Veil finally arrived in my mailbox, and I am desperately trying to not race through it. Beautiful! I'm on page 47 now, and I've already nearly worn out my set of highlighters, underlining the most thought provoking passages. What you have to say reminds me of the letter that Ralph Vaughan Williams wrote to Swaffham Primary School, when he learned that they were naming a House after him. "I believe that all the arts are necessary for a full life. The practical side of living is of course important, and this I feel sure is well taught in your school. Such things teach you how to make your living, but the arts will show you what to do with your life. It is necessary to know facts, but the arts will enable you to see past facts to the very essence of things in a way which science cannot do. The arts are the means by which we can look through the magic casements and see what lies beyond."
I got this book a week or two ago after a friend of mine told me about it. I'm trying to finish a book I'm reading now by Holly Ordway before I start it, though I've already been flipping through looking at the artwork. This was a terrific teaser.
Thank you Malcolm. Beautiful work, helping others to see. The greatest of endeavours. ‘To see clearly is poetry, prophecy, and religion - all in one.’ John Ruskin.
I am very eager to purchase this book, and as it’s published in N America, it will be more readily available as I’m in Canada. My husband was happy to see that he has the same pipe as you were smoking on this video 😊 Blessings to you and yours. KB
I'm glad I have this book on my poetry shelf. Thank you for writing it. I'm prone to push my imaginative boundaries as I read and meditate upon the scriptures. There is so much that is revealed and yet so much that is just beyond the boundaries. Our wonderful American theologian, Jonathan Edwards often tried to penetrate beyond those limits. His brilliant mind probed and probed but alas we must still wait for His great coming. God bless you and your work.
I don't smoke but I love your pipe, my grandfather cut his own from the block, I can still smell it, his old shed behind the chook pen, surely it deserves a video
I just purchased your book and I’m eagerly awaiting its delivery. I was very moved by your poetry and reflections. It must be difficult to open one’s heart and expose it to a world that might misunderstand and misinterpret what you desired to convey. But rest assured that to those who do receive it and accept it, they are made the better for it. Pax Vobiscum!
Hello, Malcolm, wonderful description of Blake's Jacob's dream. Glorious painting. I would like to recommend a musical work for you......The Protecting Veil by John Tavener. A rather transfiguring work. Tavener didn't seem to get the attention he rightly deserved. I believe "blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see god" refers to those who don't believe in words, who have transcended them. As words are based on polarities. Whereas God, obviously, transcends words. In fact, words and worlds. "In my father's house there are many mansions". I believe Paul refers to this in 2. Corinthians 12. 2. When he says "I once knew a man who entered the third heaven, whether in the body or out of it I cannot tell, only God knows". Durer really was divine. His Melancholia 1 is stupifying. "I must learn to show more restraint, Give up writing and start to paint" Perhaps. When you're next in America I suggest you check out Wyoming. Sublime. Especially table Mountain in the rockies and the cave of symbols where St. Germain has his temple. Patron Saint of America. All the best, Noel 🌹
@@dalenelson8254 I love Arvo Part. Especially his Christmas lullaby and fratres. Sublime. But I can't say what the best Part is. Don't know the beatitudes. But will check em out. Thank you. Noel

Bach’s Goldberg Variations tops these Jonny Come Lately fellows ... especially with Glenn Gould in the mix 🤓

Hi Malcolm, I just ordered your book. Can't wait to read it!

This sounds like a wonderful book. I hope it gets a wide readership. Any plans to get editions published outside the USA?
yes I'm hoping there will be a British Edition
