      I used to play tuba in high school band. You are sitting there with about 30 lbs worth of shaped brass with a big fuck-off flaring bell at the end, the entire point of all that metal to turn the action of your lips buzzing together into a LOT of noise. To this day, any tuba player will get a very sadistic and evil grin when the music has the notation of either "fff" or "fp." The first because you will be the only instrument the audience hears for the duration of that note, and the second because of how high you can make the second row jump out of their seats!
      (fff = fortississimo or "As loud as you can play it," BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! fp = fortepiano or "very loud attack then immediately soft" BWAaaaaaaaa)

      Most musical pieces can be melded together as long as they are in the same time and sound at least decent if you find a good spot for it.

      ​@@banriswirl6414no its wrong, its not the reason why they can be put together... time and sound doesnt matter, You can play every song over any other song, at the moment they are on the same scale, or on the same relative scale( which mean that you can play Am ofer a C major rythme, which those two scale are relative), and using mode scale according to the theory of this specifical mode scale(each specifical mode scale have its own ''relative sclae '' that can be used to be played over using the mode, exemple mixolidian A minor, will being able to play over E major rythme. but also over 2 other note that dominate a rythm riff )..... the rythme the time and the sound have nothing to done with it, its why you can play metallica fade to black solo over megadeth tornado of soul solo spot , those two song have different beat and different sound and time , but all of those part are using A natural minor scale, over an Am minor chord arrangement. which the 2 have not the same beat j to the same time note the same sound, but they sound as good one over another. you can also put the solo of tornado of soul and playing over fade to blakc end solo spot
      Sorry but man, music is not as easy as you think, its doesnt matter that the song have the same beat rythm time or sound, if they are not in compatible scale they wont work together, and if they are, it will work together.
      Here in the video, the orchestra playing a b flat major if im correct, and the dude playing imperial march which is in g minor, a relative of b flat major. Its the only thing that count here. The sclae

      If a trombonist is playing fortissimo, then then can generally outvolume an entire orchestra string section, or at least match it. Relatively straight air passage helps tremendously with volume, as well as the pipe+ mouthpiece size.

    That WAS clever! Prokofiev's score for his "Romeo and Juliet" ballet is one of my favorite works - and for the brass players to switch to the SW theme in the midst of a particularly ominous section of the "Dance of the Knights" was nothing short of brilliant! BRAVO! ENCORE!

      LMFAO ouch. i remember those after school sessions that ran for 5 hours, if you made a mistake you were SURE not to make it again or else you’re disappointing the professional conductor they hired to prepare us for the concert. for me though the most grueling part was that, as a percussionist, i was plagued with “conductor will only have us practice the first 50 measures of a piece the whole session and you come in on measure 60”… bored out of my mind sitting by the timpani waiting for my turn

    My brother used to play trombone in high school. He had 2 conductors. Conductor 2 decided he wanted to prank conductor 1 so he taught the band Rick Astleys never gonna give you up. On the last concert of the year conductor 1 is about to conduct a piece of music with the same time signature. Then the entire band Rick rolled conductor 1. So he decided to play it off and start dancing.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

    My dad's band class had a very strict substitute one day, so they all decided to swap instruments. My dad, who played trombone, received a trumpet, the 1st part. The substitute said something didn't sound right, and asked my dad to play his solo. The actual 1st trumpet player, who owned his own trumpet, crawled underneath my dad's chair, and played the solo for him. I've been wanting to try this with my bands for years

    My buddy and me did something similar in high school. The music we were playing was from Lion King and in the arrangement the end of I Just Can’t Wait to be King sounded like the beginning of Under the Sea from Little Mermaid. So my friend pulled up an arrangement of Under the Sea and as the Lion King piece ended we went straight into Little Mermaid on our saxophones. A fond memory indeed.

    Man that low brass is loooooooow! Been about 30 years for me since I last played. I had a valve trombone back in high school. Our band director would write custom sheet music for me because I could play much faster and more intricate pieces than the slides. So much fun!
