It really rubbed me the wrong way that Justin was willing to sacrifice his best friend for the competition. And then they framed the story as if Alex was wrong to save Zeke. It really annoyed me.
Yeah, and then they were like “it was all a test to see if you would still be family after the competition” when the reasoning for them hating each other in the first place was so dumb… they could’ve done it in such a better way, and they fallen flat at the end. Smh..
31:04 I mean in the episode Harper finds out about Alex being a wizard she calls them superheroes and Alex admits "Yeah but we do nothing for the good of humanity"
5:19 there was an only child wizard character (played by Junie Cortez from Spy Kids I think), and he was automatically a full wizard. So unfair that having simply siblings makes you have the potential to lose your magic forever
But the things is since he will never have to go through the wizard competition he will never be as powerful as a wizard who did, maybe his powers are weaker in comparison
I think it's selfish of wizards to have more than 1 child and have the competition ruin their relationship or live knowing one of them will live a better and longer life than the others
I have this theory that in the reboot Justin will have given his powers to Max since it was said that Justin decided to live as a normal human with his family just like their dad Jerry did, so maybe Max will be like uncle Kelbo he shows once in a while to see Justin and his kids and bring them magical presents
@@notnat4435 Professor Crumb gave his powers to Justin so he not only became a wizard again but he also became one of the most powerful ones, they wouldn´t allow Justin to live or work in the magic world without being a wizard

The logic of children shows is just unfathomable sometimes😵💫
Well apparently Harper and Zeke were never in real danger since it was all just another test, so if they chose to stay there and continue the competition they would have sent someone to go there and rescue them, but yes they didn’t know it so it was a bummer
@@lauracerqueiramachado8979but what is that supposed to teach them? That you should be selfish and wizard stuff always comes first? Just like when Alex revealed magic to mortals to save the captured wizards, it's seen as a bad thing 🙄

This to me was always the thing I hated most about the show growing up, Alex was always blamed for everything even when it wasn't her fault just because it was convenient to do so. Yet whenever the other characters displayed flaws they are NEVER called out on them (like Harper in Alex the Puppetmaster or Justin whenever he does something wrong), yet Alex is always blamed or punished for her actions. I know Alex isn't the best person, but she always makes things right when she makes a mistake, yet whenever Justin stoops to Alex's level he not only feels no guilt for it, he uses it to revel in his revenge, and neither of the parents ever scold him for his actions, like in the infamous Alex's Logo. I still find his actions in Alex's Logo to be worse, but how Justin and Max treat Alex in the finale was awful, they become so abusive toward Alex when she wanted them to save Harper and Zeke. And. Alex is treated as bad for wanting to save their friends.
Yessss someone who gets it😭😭. I hated the Alex’s logo episode ever since it aired and I thought I was crazy for feeling that way but this very much validates my feelingsss 😭. Justin really do be wrong sometimes and they don’t address it. It’s not fair.
The thing is with the “no family wizard” thing Justin was just mad cause they didn’t get magic. Not that the family tree was chopped down. If Alex had won and Justin didn’t get magic he woulda still been a little bitch about it 😂
I might be wrong, but I think they explain it somewhere that the wizard competition from the movie is like an emergency one, like a pocket competition or something
I could have sworn there was an episode where an only child wizard went to school with alex and he had his full powers already and was a troublemaker and put a spell over his parents to make them listen to him until the end of the episode. But maybe he wasnt a full wizard. Could have sworn he was lol
I read this theory that the goal of the wizard competition is to make sure the “family wizard” is the most worthy and responsible one because if they let all of the siblings be wizards their whole lives without any sort of test or criteria then they could get into a lot of trouble or use magic irresponsibly, and the wizards agree to this because whoever wins the competition gets much more powerful than before, a only-child wizard doesn’t have to go through the wizard competition but they will never get to be as powerful as a wizard who did and won
I agree that the reboot doesn’t sound TOO exciting, but personally I think David/Justin being the main character makes a lot of sense If they had maybe continued him at wiztech or something jt would’ve been better, but David Henrie has been the most vocal about wanting a reboot and Selena is just a looot bigger than he is, so that’s what I always expected. I do wish Greg sulkin would get a larger part too, I just don’t see that happening in a justin-centric show
The writers could've done A LOT with the authority that comes with Justin being Professor at Wiztech...kind of seems lazy to just have him give all that up.
@@growingupwithdisney Exactly!!! It was such a fitting natural progression for his character, and ofc we don’t know if the reboot will actually be good, but I think no matter what the original storyline would’ve been more interesting for old viewers
Its been a long time since i watched thia but i think after this whole angel vs wizards is when Justins charracter changed, cause like he wasnt that bad in the earlier seasons, least i dont think
During a Q&A with David DeLuise and Jennifer Stone I brought up the wizard competition and asked why it was only one kid who kept their powers wondering if the writers/creatives ever discussed it. Apparently not though David did ask as well what happens if you only have one kid 😄 But I do agree Justin and Max treating Alex like crap in the finale always bugged me. Especially Justin's treatment of his "best friend" Zeke. The movie was written and produced by people who had nothing to do with the series that's why it feels like such a disconnect. Jennifer and David have both expressed their dislike for the movie in the Q&As. I always assumed each competition was different to keep wizards on their toes/not knowing what was coming next. So the competition in the movie was probably the same one Jerry, Kelbo and Megan all did but the wizard council probably kept changing it for each family (also because the wizard council are dicks like that).
I would love to have magic to keep up with things. I couldn’t keep up and people had to take over. Not everyone is the same. Some people are really good at their jobs and fast
OKAY. OKAY. REWATCHING THIS I NOW GET WHY ALEX WAS ACTUALLY CHOSEN. t wasnt JUST the fact that she turned back to help justin. Its bc of how she handled not having magic. bc both her and justin did good in the run. But only alex really truly got the point of that lesson. the boys just tolerated it
