I am an Afrikaner learning Dutch for fun. I'm amazed that I could recognize that the guy from South Afrika is Afrikaans literally in his first sentence. All the other mistakes also make perfect sense. Valliant effort though! Super interesting to see.
Tim is a brilliant presenter! I understand little to no Dutch, but i also pay attention to the subtitles and how Tim and the interviewees were talking. Well done and great video! ❤✨😁
Interessant te zien in wat een international wereld we leven. Da geeft het de mensen de leven en een land en komen uit de andere, de mensen de bezoeken de vriendje of de zusje en natuurlijk ook de mensen de "nur" reizen.
This is the Airport I arrived in. I was totally tired m. Fell asleep 💤 in Starbucks until I went to my hotel. Learning and reading Dutch while I’m here
I do like to learn more Frans ! Ik verleer het heel erg snel nu na 50 jaar. Ik moet het bijspijkeren. Ik vind dit wel een gezellige club hier. Geluk met Nederlands leren allemaal enz!
dank u wel voor de video! ik ben tijdens mijn erasmusperiode vaak in nederland geweest en ik mis de sfeer daar echt. Ik ben van plan om vanaf september aan de universiteit van Leiden te studeren! wens me geluk O:)
Would appreciate suggestions please? I've been here some time & now working at the language. I'm older & my hearing is compromised so having to read the English subtitles quite a lot in this video. I've picked up a good amount of vocabulary so that helps but the Dutch here is spoken at normal speed so I can't quite keep up. Should I continue or find another source where conversations are conducted at a slightly slower pace for now? (Otherwise, I find this series really good!) Would appreciate some feedback. Thanks
wow, impressive. I had to stop at the dog snack guy to give an interim comment. I am very happy for the dogs in Poland, I just hope they don't get too fat now. I always want to ice skate on this 100 city race in the Nederlands. But instead everyone is skiing in Munich and Solvenia 😞 no more ice on the grachten? Did you ask the guy from South Africa how good his !Xhosa is ? These click languages are fantastic.
Unscripted & well edited. So interesting that it doesn't even seem like a language lesson. .Amazingly, after just a half hour, the little phrases become familar. The possibility of eventually learning is becoming quite real.

Can't you do the subtitles for Discovery too? There are so many grammar mistakes! And then my mother says. Yes, but they studied? Duuuu, not me. But it's wrong!
If this is too fast for you, you can slow down the speed of the video by adjusting it in the options of the video. Click on the gear icon and choose the speed you prefer. :) Otherwise I advice you all of our Super Easy videos, which are made in easier and slowly pronounced language. :)
you can slow down the speed in settings but yes- natives speak fast. You can find some 'slow dutch' podcasts online/on Spotify and slowly build up in speed too.
@@alexwood3459 Hello. Thanks for the message. I have watched some of the "slow" videos, but wanted to comment on how fast they speak on the other videos. Even trying to read the Dutch subtitles is next to impossible. Frustrating!
@@thomaslucia3059 Frustrating? Or maybe challenging? ;) Good luck with improving your listening skills, I'm sure you can do it! With consistency and passion! :)
I really feel sorry for dutch people- very honest, but they seem to have horrific private lives. Flying thousands of km just to see their girlfriends and kids. This is not cosmopolitan society. This is social entropy.
The second guy is so international, he keeps inserting English vocabulary and English pronunciation, I guess he doesn't have much concept of language purity, which is frustrating
Actually, this is a phenomenon which occurs often in the Netherlands and in Dutch. Some Dutch speakers tend to use English words, even if there's a Dutch equivalent that would fit. For some other words, the Dutch didn't invent their own translation, so they just use the English ones. Dutch people accept a lot of language influences. :D
