    Great info, I've wanted more investigation into power needs. I've been collecting and displaying for many years, and need to use multiple adapters in some cases. But I'm trying to just use them when they are running LEDs. If it has animation, I will try to give it its own power supply. I also looked into the reason they switched from yellow to green on the 4.5v plugs. I don't remember the reason, but I think it was minor and didn't matter in my case. Thanks again!

    Does the Dr. Stretch N Pulls Torture Factory take the larger block being it is an older building? Does the All Hallows Mausoleum take the smaller being it's a newer building?

      Hey there, great question. So it’s not about the physical size of the block it’s self. It’s about the power rating of the block/house. For example MOST newer houses need 4.5vDC power supply’s. Where as older houses have a wider range of power needs/plugs. So it’s more about what the house it self needs an pairing that up with your power supply. In each box there might be directions it should tell you what power rating is needed. Let’s just say it’s 4.5vdc. Then as long as your power supply is rated at 4.5vdc it doesn’t matter what physical size the block is as long as the power rating matches both the house an power supply. Power supply’s physical shapes got smaller over the years as technology got better. So really what matters is that you match the power rating of your house to the output power rating on your power supply. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions:)

    Great video! The same holds true for Dept 56 houses and their light bulbs. Some are 3 volt bulbs, some 12 volt bulbs. They look the same. If you don't use the right ones the house will not light. I have bought house from ebay and there are times people send the wrong ones. I agree with you, always check. Dept 56 usually labels theirs, if not check their website and their adapters are listed and for what houses. The nice thing about Lemax is, usually their adapters on newer models are interchangeable. Not so on dept 56!

    Is the newest 4.5 adaptor suitable for the Meow Mansion, Sugared Pumpkin Shop, and Pumpkin Treehouse? I am just starting out and do not want to blow their lights out😅 And these only free up outlet space? There is no timer? Hope you reply! Keep up the good work!

      Hey buddy! Welcome this wonderful community. I’m happy to help anytime. Yes the standard 4.5v will work perfectly. An you could also put these 3 together on a multi 4.5 adapter as it looks like the Miliamps will draw around 170 ish somewhere in there witch leaves you plenty of head room on the adapter. Just don’t put any more on one if you can help it with in reason. Yes the multi adapters are perfect for freeing up space as long as you don’t over load theme. But after adding theme up roughly there should be no issue with these 3 on one outlet. Thanks again for your message! 🎃

    Hi,
    I don't know if you did do a follow up video to this on power supplies? But with aftermarket adaptors, they come with multiple jack sizes and the power is controlled on the plug itself.
    Do you know whether the jack size for 4.5v is 5.5mm x 2.1mm?

      Hey great question, I do not know the answer to that an I don’t have a way to measure. However. They do feel on the bigger side in comparison to similar adapters I have. That is a great question tho. The safe bet is to always use a Lemax branded adapter. There’s a lot of great deals on pre owned adapters on line. Sorry wish I had the answer for you. I’m defiantly curious my self now haha. Have a good day!

      @@VillagesAndMore The reason why adaptors, when bought as an accessory, have different plug versions is because they should be able to be used with several different electrical items such as lighting, or Table Accents, which do not all have the same plugs sizes and styles depending on where they were manufactured and for what type of accessory. Lemax makes a very simple issue into a complex matter is so that they can dupe users into buying many different adaptors with different types of plugs - with 100% the same electrical winding inside the adaptor - and thus justify having to make many different sizes and stylers of connectors! Just use a 5V USB adaptor - the little extra voltage makes ZERO difference - beleive me - I USE TO SELL LEMAX in the 2010 - 2020 period!!! They hated me for belling the cat!!! Hahahahah !

    Hi! I bought my 1st Lemax on clearance at Michaels and just learned from a review on UA-cam that the house had audio! I didn't receive an audio cable in the box and I'm wondering how to get a replacement audio cord for the house. Any suggestions? Thank you 😊

    • @VillagesAndMore
      @VillagesAndMore  2 роки тому +2

      Hello, there should be no cable needed. Lemax houses that have sound, have a speaker build inside already. There should be a vol roll switch to adjust the volume. If there’s still no sound there could be a issue with the house. Witch house are you referring to?

    What would the amp draw of a larger 4.5v house be?

    • @VillagesAndMore
      @VillagesAndMore  2 роки тому

      Hello, they range greatly. Going off memory here. I believe iv seen some as high as 380mA.
      If your displaying a big house with animation ALWAYS use a single power supply with 500mA or more rating. You never want to use more then 50-75percent of your power adapters capacity. An of course always double check to make sure your voltage is current. For example “4.5vDc” being the most common. Hope this helps:)

      Hello, great question. Normally this would not be a good idea. However if your multi adapter is 1000ma then technically yes it should work. But it will defiantly be pulling a lot of power threw that adapter. Please confirm your adapter is a 4.5vdc 1000mA. The 1000mA is very important. Thanks for your message. :)

    I'm pretty sure whatever non-Lemax power supply you use, you are as least as likely to be using a better power supply than the original as not. While I love the Spooky Town stuff, I can admit that it is cheap crap. Cheap crap that I love.

    • @DerrickWindsor

      I used to retail Lemax in my Christmas Shop and I can tell you, the reason they have all these various voltage Power Supplies is to make people (who don't know better) HAVE to pay out for very, very specific voltage/amperage when actually, they are all the same - they are PURELY LOW-VOLTAGE power supplies, stepped down purely for safety reasons, not for the physics of electricity. My advice is change to 5V DC, also called USB power supplies used by almost all computers/laptops - you can rest assured that this will NEVER change because the Computer manufacturers know that the Laptop, Mobile Phones etc., is a UNIVERSALLY used and distributed item the whole world over!! BTW, all 4.5V items will run quite happily on 5V USB power so make that your UNIVERSAL power supply and screw all these unscrupulous manufacturers.

    • @VillagesAndMore
      @VillagesAndMore  Рік тому

      Thats a great question. As I would not recommend this has it does have a risk of over powering the unit and shorting it out over time. However, its only 0.5v extra. So odds are it would be fine on the voltage side since voltage verys little anyways. However you would need to make sure you have enough milliamps to cover the draw. That would be my bigger concern. But if you can pull 5v with like 500Ma for example. Odds are it would work. I think having enough draw on your milliamps with enough headroom would be my biggest concern. If you try this, please let me know how all your voltage and Ma draw worked out. Im curious my self now. Also what house were you planning to try this with as that two effects how many Milliamps you need for the draw. Thank you! Happy Holidays!

      4.5V or 5V makes ABSOLUTELY ZERO difference!! I have used 5V USB for more than 15 years now and have never blown anything up!!! motors will turn just a tad faster, not noticeably so, but its is still 100% safe!!! the extra 1/2V is totally INSIGNIFICANT!!!
