Nice set and for once you don't need to cancel your around the world cruise with booze package to buy it, I will have to listen to the quality first before I click on the order button, thank you for the review and a nice bit of skill with the records very impressive.
I looked like they have retained all of the Elektra label's design aspects, like the Stigma font. Classic. I have the CD bootleg from March 10 1976 and a copy of Light Me Fire from the March 7 recordings. Ty
Ya thanks for your info, i will get the cds through your links, vinyl bit expensive got to watch the pennies, but as i think sometimes you can buy 3 cds for the same price as a lp..rock on ♥️✌️🇬🇧
It's cool but I was hoping it would sound better. Jim's voice is really good but Robbie is hard to hear and John's drums sounds thin. I would think they could turn the volume up and record it in higher fidelity. Still sounds like a bootleg. I don't hear any difference from the 2008 version so I don't believe these are master tapes, sorry.
I like how the rear of the single has image of a tape reel .. I intend to buy the CD .. if the reviews of the vinyl are good in regards to sound quality I’ll probably buy it .. 🙄
You're a bit of a rare one. Most U.K. fans seem to really hate the Doors. Classic example: Both of Pete Pardo's pals in the UK Connection are way down on these guys.
The history of these Doors Matrix shows weirdly parallels The Velvet Underground’s Matrix performances, pieces of which had long been available as the notoriously muffled-sounding Velvet Underground Live 1969 collection. Then some years back a more complete compilation in better sound quality was released as The Quine Tapes, although also ultimately proved to be a couple of generations away from the original tapes. Finally, a couple of years ago the actually complete tapes in actual first-generation sound quality were released as a 4 CD (or 8 LP) box set. Both groups even seem to be playing to similarly sparse, somewhat disinterested audiences.
Thanks for playing a sample oh yeah you thought we'd like to hers you natter on about a box,it would be so cool if you would sample what it's supposed to be about the music, what's wrong with that
Was this a a look at the album or just a unboxing?? There was no mention of the audio quality of the recordings I would love to have a review of the music!!
I don't have a record player so I cannot comment on the sound... I can comment on the delightful rustle as the vinyl was pulled from the inner sleeve, if that helps?
I have ordered the CD which will arrive on the 8th. I don't order the vinyl, I get it sent to promote on my channel. I get a lot of stuff prior to the release date that I review if I can, but in the case of vinyl I can just unbox and show it to my audience
@@classicalbumWell that’s not very reassuring, that they’d send the expensive box set out to someone that couldn’t actually listen to it so that he could look at it for us. Pretty packaging is nice (although let’s face it: there is nothing all that impressive about the packaging), but before we spend that kind of money the one and only question that NEEDS to be addressed is: this really that much of an improvement over the what-turned-out-to-be third generation tapes version that was released just a couple of years ago?
@@briangonigal3974 Absolutely! What's the point of this video? Who cares what it looks like? I just wasted 8 minutes. Fair enough the title says First Look. But I didn't think that was literal. I thought we'd get to hear a bit. Unboxing would of been a better description for the title.
It's the Doors! It's live! I've ordered the cd box set! Enough said 😊
Hope you enjoy it!
I’m psyched! I’ve preordered the CD box set also!
Ordered the vinyl box set. Love the track listing. Crystal Ship is a beautiful song! The End is an absolutely classic track.
This is The Doors young and on fire 🔥pre fame. One of my favorite live shows
I ordered the vinyl for my buddy's upcoming 60th Bday, and the CD's for myself. 😁
Good choice!
The Doors were outstanding.
I'll get the CD box set. The vinyl box is intriguing, but I don't have a decent turntable. Thanks for the unboxing!
The cd version arrived today so I’m very happy ! Well over 50 years ago, seems like yesterday, I must be getting very old😢
I'm going to try to get the vinyl version. I hope you do another video after listening to the set.
Very tempting.
MUST GET IT. The Doors are my all time favorite. Just saw Robby Krieger at the Whiskey over the July 4th weekend; amazing ❤
I’m gettin that motherscratcher
Same!!!🎉
I ordered my vinyl edition the day you first announced it. Eagerly waiting for my copy!
This does look fantastic.
Very cool. I have 204 .
Sounds like an excellent set. Will have to look into it.
Pre-ordered the CDs

I got the Cd Version and just came in the store

da DOORS jesus murphy da Doors
I am planning to order the CD version.
I've got the CD coming as well
Great unboxing, is the single one sided? Only I noticed the vinyl surface on the B side seems to portray a real to real tape. How do you noticed this?
You're a bit of a rare one. Most U.K. fans seem to really hate the Doors. Classic example: Both of Pete Pardo's pals in the UK Connection are way down on these guys.
I owned the bootleg some 45 years ago...a bit creaky

so they squeezed all 8 minutes of bags groove onto a 7"? is it 45rpm?

I'm paid to unbox and show the item. I don't have a sample to play and I don't have a record player
I will listen on Spotify or similar and then if it passes muster and Morrison doesn't ramble on l will get the CD.

@@classicalbum no problem! Question? If you don’t have a record player why are you buying the vinyl??? They have a CD box also????

Would have been nice to get a view on the quality - not just the record company's blurb
It's my blurb, not the record company. Can't say anything on the sound quality as I don't have a record player

Do you have a turntable to play the vinyl?
Nope... I just gaze at it lovingly
Hmmm…I’m sniffin’.
It's a bar band like the Stones! Few good tunes, but lot's of 12-Bar ho hum, rehash. ...Bet I "cut the red wire" with that one.😊
I have the 3 CD set pre-ordered. I don't "buy" Bruce Botnick's story. The Doors and company have twisted the facts before to fit their narrative.
More unnecessary stuff with a pissed Morrison to waste money on.
I remember this show being quite good... hopefully they sound much better now
Wow, edgy take on one of the greatest American bands ever. Solid take 😂
He is dead
