Katich, martyn etc would've scored 10k runs had they played for any other country and lehmann, Hodge etc would've scored 7k. Australian golden team was incredible
Aussie media is too harsh on their players, Cmon at least support them in their worst time . They actually almost were on top on the 1st day until our IN bowlers fired up the ante.
Labuschagne's tactics were right if they came off. His 2 off 52 is important because even if Australians defended every ball on Day 1, they would have been batting 3 or 5 wickets down on Day 2 when the pitch became much much better to bat on. That would have been a significant difference to how the match's momentum went on.
Everyone focusing on Marnus but the real concern should also be Steve Smith regarded as the best test batsman of our era come his average is also not healthy and Kolhi scores a hundred in how many innings and is hailed as the king, come on.
The difference between Kohli and Smith is that smith is a test batter, he cannot win you games ODIs /T20s single-handedly neither can root or williamson, they lack the range of Kohli, ability to pull off extra-ordinary shots under immense pressure eg- THat Shot of the Kohli off Harris Rauf for strt 6 in T20 WC MCG. In recent times Australia is not a team that can win 3 or 4 in a row, 2 in a row at best for the aussies, Their openers are clueless, issues regarding Marsh, new changes with Inglis and Webster, so it really depends on how we play Gill and Rohit at 3 and 6 respectively. Give it a break, recently NZ thrashed India 3-0, it's like Aus feels they should never lose to teams like India at home mindset which makes them speak like this, as soon as they win, they again start speaking India is not good against fast bowling etc..nonsense!!
Australian pitches are a bowler's dream. Those who use shoulder frequently would love to bowl in Australia and NZ. However, the selection of NZ is far better. I think NZ selectors have always been the best. Australia also need some fresh talent plus innovation at the coaching level. They are still the best team in ODI after they won the ICC WC in 11/2023.
Bottom line is ' nothing succeeds like success'. The same Indian side was roasted a month back when it lost a home series against the not so fancied Kiwis. If you're asking about marnus's wicket then it's because he did not try to play the ball. If you leave the ball pitched on middle or off then impact is not considered. This is done to discourage batters from leaving balls that are aimed at the stumps.

On the side note, he would have preferred going to down to catch dropped by Kohli than playing 52 balls for just 2 runs and looking most uncomfortable of all the batsman in Australian side.
There is no game! It is all about Match fixing. India has the crowd and Aussie need luxury! So why not arrange a match fixing! This is how professional sports are all about. Audiences are fooled to watch a match that is settled ahead of time!
The only time Starc scares batsmen is in Aussie nets. On all other occassions he just gets hammered. The guy wastes the new ball all the time by not making the batsmen play. That is where the Indian bowlers are so good. Plus, the Dibbly dobbly Hazlewood and Boland will not scare this Indian lineup anyways.
Still remember the knock of Simon katich at Sydney test 2004 where he and Steve Waugh saved the match for Aussies !!
