Ella, I had the original 1971 Family Rooms Set (1-story 5 room house) with tons of detailed furniture. I also had the original airport with the moving baggage claim area underneath. I also had the houseboat, the nursery school (preschool) I believe, I had the Sesame Street Apartments, the original village with the two sides of the street with the separating bridge with the stoplight, I had the 2-story house with the removable staircase, the 3-story garage, the Ferris wheel, the carousel, The Children's Hospital, the school with the chalkboard wall and removable magnetic letters and numbers, the camper, the houseboat, and many more. My sets were called "Play Family" before they became "Little People". I'm 55 years old, so I remember these sets fondly.
I was born in the early 80's but grew up with these, my mother would thrift them so I had lots of complete and partial sets. I just inherited them, so I'm trying to see what goes with what. I have the camper, house, pool, farm and various other parts. I even had that red jeep but no other a frame parts lol. We had the garage, but she gave it away when I outgrew it sadly. What fun memories, you're collection is beautiful, thank you for sharing.
AMAZING VIDEO! You've just earned yourself a new subscriber! I've been collecting these since i was a small kid. These toys are a beautiful work of art, and it's a shame they don't make toys like these anymore! I have about 90% of the stuff in this video. The main thing that i love about these is that you essentially get to be in control of your own little world! Incredible work on the detailed review of each set by the way!
EllaTheSella, I want to buy every set & play like I did when I was a kid. This is such a fun video! Makes me happy thinking of the many times I played with these special FP sets! Your sets are so clean & perfectly put together. Thank you for creating this!
My name is Becky Scully I am from western Australia I collect vintage Little people toys sets can I give you a bit of advice if you are going to collect these sets please handle them with gloves on this stops the paint from coming off the sets
Good collection but there are a few features you failed to mention as well as your sometimes inaccurate information as to the included accessories. For instance the schoolhouse , when opened on the side , at the very top of room are two red plastic drawer slides which has a tray of the alphabet letters and numbers 0-9 and some special punctuation symbols as well. These were all magnetized because the entire roof was metal and you could arrange the tray contents at will. Not sure how educational it was for most but what child doesn't love a magnet. Also when you let the door down on schoolhouse it was made of green chalkboard material that you could draw and erase with chalk. Two pieces of chalk and an eraser was also included.
Sesame Street shopkeeper is Mr Hooper
I had the house, the town, the plane, and some random cars. I loved these sets
This was so fun to watch! Amazing collection.
Glad you enjoyed!
So many memories with those sets. I totally remember the tent trailer set. I had it when I was 6.
