This is my first hearing trumpets use a in quintet. I played with a combination of different instruments such as trumpet, saxes, and a trombone to include a bari sax. They had a familiar sound of a different score. Like a movie musical score. Her playing reminds of my school band classes. She's awesome.
Hey, great job making tight-sounding overdubs! It always takes me so long to do this kind of thing myself. The sound's remarkably warm and not harsh like I'd expect for an inexpensive condenser (saw the recording setup video!) Just an idea - haven't tried it personally - I wonder how a recording like this would turn out if you used different horns & mouthpieces for the different parts. It's still you playing it all, so the musical expression would line up, but do you think it could give a rounded "ensemble" sound rather than a tight "chorus" effect?
