I was in the AC (DE) 42 batch (chest no 8).
The left most ustaad was the drill ustaad for our course.
Drill ustaads (more than any DS) are the ones who are responsible for making men out or boys in any fauj. They instill discipline in us, through their dedication and strict bearing. They are with their respective courses from morning till late night. They train the course with their unique dialog deliveries and strict demeanor. Because they are the ones who give ragda the most, many don't realise their importance till they pass out from the academy.
But it is drill and drill ustaads in general which form the bedrock of any fauj. Any true blue fauji will accept this.
I have fond memories of Rajiv ustaad. The way he used to tell us how to shine our shoes. The numerous Patti parades. Not a single thread could be missed from his sharp eyes. One small mistake and he would say "bend ho jayye saab or chaliye front roll".
Even the saab who is giving commands, he would come to our course, once or twice. AND HE WAS A TERROR (saying this with utmost respect and love) His voice would boom throughout the kaala ground.

I was very much interested to join the Army unfortunately I couldn't but my friends and relatives were retired from Army service they enjoyed life they are lucky. JAIHIND
BSF is guarding the borders of India in a very difficult terrain. In summers temp goes to 51 degree C and at places in mountains during winters it is minus 20 degrees. They are guarding the borders of India thought-out the year, day and night. Indian Govt. Should also give them OROP as it has been done for the Army to raise the morale of the BSF.
