00:03 Looks like the small Danish town Solvang in California. Denmark is considered one of the oldes monarchies in the world +1300 years. The Japanese Empire is older. What you in English can express with the word "please", Danes use a whole sentence for, such as "Vil Du være så venlig." On the other hand Danes say "Tak for mad" (Thank you for the food/dinner) when you have finished your meal, which is replied with "Velbekomme" (Bon Appetite - according to Google) by the host or the one who prepared the meal/dinner. It is actually considered bad manner to get up from the table, without saying "Tak for mad." The major difference between Danish pastry made in Denmark and in the US, is that it is made of REAL BUTTER in Denmark. Denmark doesn't have any mountains, but has in the town Vejle some very steep and hilly streets, where the sidewalk is made of steps. One of them - Kiddevej - is always used in cycling tour races. It has an increase of 19%. Janteloven - is not a law but a concept idea describing the way people treat each other, created in a fiction novel, written by Aksel Sandemose in 1933. Janteloven takes up too much space in peoples mind, which is weird, because if you just ignore it, you pretty much get away with it, as long as you don't brag.
The battle at Lyndanisse var against Estonians not Latvians :). The capital of Estonia means Danish castle i Estonian, and is built where the danes built the first castle after the victory in 1219

The people were asked to vote and they voted NO to change KRONER to Euro. Denmark never had Mark. There were no limis to the threats and horror predicted by the pro people, if the result was a no. Neither of it happened. Same thing would have happened in other countries if the people had been allowed to vote about it. If so, Germany most probably still would have the D-Mark. The people were NOT asked if they agreed in joining the Schengen Deal or not. Makes you think.
No - The Fareo Islands and Greenland are part of the Danish Commenwelth, but they are NOT colonies. They have their own Governments and flag - and have members in the Danish Government. They are financially supported by the Danish state.
@@KoldingDenmark yes all right and great that the Danes take care of the seals and icebergs over there. I name it colony, but not in a negative sense. Colonizing is for me to take care and bring some cultural input, health care, infrastructure etc.
@@rnies6849 The former Danish West Indies were Danish colonies from 1754 - 1914. They were sold to the U.S. very much under influence of WWI and the thread as submarine base for Germany they would be to the U.S. if Germany occupied all Denmark. Germany had occupied the southern part of the country already in 1864. It is easy to say that Denmark should never have sold them, considering the conditions the people on the islands live under today.
@@KoldingDenmark even if Germany would occupy or has occupied whole Denmark - it was always very clear that the Germans never had the intention to keep that occupation. Therefore it seems to have been short sigthed from the Danes.
