    Love it! Your videos fill in the gaps in my theory knowledge. I hated learning theory during my 6 years of piano lessons as a kid, took guitar lessons as a young adult.. learning songs only via tabs…. never played with other people until at the age of 50 found myself in my church band on guitar -- all of the sudden, I realized how much theory would help me, starting with understanding using a capo. 18 years later, still in church band plus an outside bluegrass/ variety band, trying to up my game on electric guitar.

    It is all right there people perfectly explained, demonstrated and played. Thanks as always. For me personally mixing this with my usual pentatonic noodling gave me a whole new sound and the more you practice the less thinking you have to do

    I have played three years and only now I understand little bit this and start to sound real, I don't know if I had practicing very bad, almost noodling and theory shapes etc, I think your ear have to be good when you can play better because I noticed every time I get results my ears get better, sorry bad English but maybe you get it.

    I don't know why the others video makers don't want to show how they do that, it is all about the how good you sounding , technique and knowledge guitar shapes, am I right?

    14:45 may I ask why you chose to use the 3rd on the same string rather then use the third found 1 fret down and 1 fret over(on the D string)?

    • @zombieguitar
      @zombieguitar  3 місяці тому

      @@ColdCanadian911 either way is fine. I just was trying to demonstrate that the major 3rd is 4 semitones above the root, which is easier to see when both notes are on the same string

    Is the C# chord a minor chord or a major chord. Looking at circle of fifths it looks to fall in the minor portion of the circle. When you physically play it as a bar chord first time around it appears your middle finger is down which indicates a minor chord but the diagram is showing a major chord. Then when the arpeggio is played it appears to be a major arpeggio.
    Not questioning your methods or anything I’m personally just confused because to me it seems like it should be a minor chord but sounds better as major. Can you please straighten me out :)

    • @zombieguitar
      @zombieguitar  2 місяці тому

      Yes the C# has been made major. If you watch the demo in the beginning, you'll see that has been pointed out. This is the "major III" chord, which you will see me talk about in a lot of my vids!

    • @ColdCanadian911
      @ColdCanadian911 2 місяці тому

      Alright thank you. 🙏🏻 much easier now for me to jump from the A to C# major ….much easier fingering than the minor shape.
      Practicing and playing it now as we converse.
      Thanks so much.

    How I can practice my ears better. I mean you had show but I am still not get it maybe because I don't have even trying only one day a month. Maybe have to get deeper.

  • @Myhobbyest88
    @Myhobbyest88 3 місяці тому

    Only now I can play with tabs, it is very hard to play one song in guitar, am I right? How long it takes to play one song like in album , I mean everything in that song. It has a very long trip to play guitar and that's why I'm only noodling and improve when practicing it takes too much capacitance of your brain to know everything and play better. You don't always can a practice in good way because you get very tired. But I have proof to me, that is better to me.

    • @TotalNoSkill
      @TotalNoSkill 2 місяці тому

      I would recommend starting with writing a lot of chord progressions using a circle of fifths. Then I would consider what can I do with it - how to build an interesting lead section, there are a lot of techniques on how to do it. Using triads, targeting chord tones, just noodling around the scale (my favourite), injecting some arpeggios. The best way to start with chord progressions is to look for some backing tracks on UA-cam, making your own in DAW or my ultimate favourite - using a looper and creating a song while adding layers into it.
