How do you care for stage 3 born with one kidney thanks been waiting on the information you sharing
Hi vegs a not all healthy beans legumes tomatoes and all nite shades are very bad for your micro organisms take a hit in your gut especially grains witch are loaded with glisafate roundup must eat organic. I think 20 percent protein 60 percent healthy fat and 20 percent complex carbs good luck ps drink lots of good mineral water 💧
They contain lectins
Also I forgot to mention how bad fructose is for the body
Can you please Appointment
Thank you both for your dedication to nephrology, unfortunately I was stage 4 and facing transplant before I really cut back my diet. I’m 6’4” from Louisiana and we love high sodium, high protein animal foods here. It has been very hard to split a steak in 2 and load up on veggies but since doing so I feel much better and my blood pressure has dropped. I kinda wish my nephrologist had set me down and set me straight 2 years ago. Instead he just reads my labs to me every 6 months and says everything holding steady, see you in 6 months. He sent me to talk to dialysis center and they are the ones that gave me info on kidney diets. It’s great people like you that are helping people manage their pkd and I thank you very much. I’m pre dialysis and fixing to head to Baylor in Dallas to start the transplant journey. Hopefully all goes well and I get my life back.
A lot of babble with all this stuff. Why I say that. Because no matter what people try and do they still get ill. Ex. Smokers who live longer then non smokers and never get lung damage.

This is a fabulous podcast! I have stage III kidney disease and am a physician and I loved this!
So glad you are enjoying the information! :)
Hi, would like to thank the two of you for your work and the information you share. I find myself in this now. Jyst began with my first meeting with my Nephrologist. Next meeting we will have a clearer picture of things. Im already making changes to help my self
dr.hasmi is good in explaining
The discussion of plant-based diets has not taken into account diabetics who are sensitive to carbohydrates of ALL kinds. Every legume spikes my glucose levels... I do have CKD but I am caught between the two issues. Protein does not raise blood sugar levels and has cut my insulin resistance and needs for mealtime insulin as well as my long-acting insulin is cut by 60 percent on low carbs not to mention blood pressure from an average of 170 to 115 and 22 ponds in weight loss a1c 6 5🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Keep doing what you’re doing.
That was my question too. While Im not diabetic...yet... if I eat carbs, my insulin spikes... and I just feel better with more protein
I would suggest you read Mastering Diabetes by Cyrus Khambatta and Robby Barbaro. It sheds a lot of light about carbs and Whole Foods.
If you still on low carb you are still creating insulin resistance because of the fat to be become more insulin sensitive you need to back off the fat and up the plant carbs 😉
I love your podcast! Thank you for sharing this
information!!
Excellent video, learning so much. It’s changing my mind from animal protein to plant protein.....❤❤❤❤
Hello doc. I am from Indonesia, southeast asia. Thanks for your channel. After 2 months changing my meal to plantbased then my kidney transplant function is getting better. My creatinine decreased from 1.3 to 1.28 and today my cr 1.24. Plantbased is highly recommended. Thanks
We're happy to hear about your great success! Keep it up!
Plant based is favourable. But how will the heamaglobin make up for the same. Heamaglobin can go low what is the veg. That contains iron
Which fruits are to be taken
Hi doctor is taking soy protein caused uric acid, thx doctor
Thank you both for a very fact based presentation. I really like your tag-team approach to covering the subject matter. Once again, thank you!
We're glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
Great conversation. Lots to learn, thank you
Thank you :)
Thank you. You made it easier to determine how much protein is needed.
So glad it was helpful!
Thanks to both of you
Thank You! We've had the unpleasant conversations with renal Dietician and doctors about meat v plant based diet and potassium. Your knowledge, advice and support means so much.
I'm not plant-based, but these podcasts are very helpful and informative. Nice to listen to true experts.
Thanx
Great channel. Glad i found it. Thanks!
We're glad you found it too! Thank you for your support :)
Merci beaucoup les informations très intéressantes
Excellent presentation
Thanks a lot
Great information. Thanks to both of you. Watching from the Philippines.
So happy you're enjoying the channel and learning from us! :)
Thank you doc for sharing this. My doctor told me to cut down my protein because I have kidney disease. I'm not on dialyssis.
How we have needed this information, our medical does not explain any information on our diets
Thank you Michele and Dr! These programs are great and so informative! I hope you keep them going!
Absolutely, our 4th episode just went live. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/agKewFoM8bg/v-deo.html

I have createnine 1.2
Thank you!
Thank you for watching!
Thanks you two from Nigeria
Thank you 🙏 well informed to me 🥰
Were glad you found it informational :)
Thank you
Good analysis
I just learned I have stage 3 kidney decease . I’m just starting to change my diet although I’m already in diabetic diet. Now I will need to substitute animal protein with plant. Thank you.
We hope you are able to utilize our channel and episodes to help educate and guide you :)
Thank you for all this information thank you very helpful❤
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you very much
Thanks for tuning in!
I started using magnesium carbonate when my phosphorus was 9.2. The calcium acetate was inadequate and using two capsules caused upset stomach. Next reading I had was 5.8, close to very good.
Really enjoyed this segment. I’m 61 athletic and spent a lot of time in the gym bodybuilding. I had my first kidney stone 4 years ago and was told to stay away from any nuts, spinach, beans and anything with high oxalates. I tried a vegan diet 2 years ago and thought this would help and found out I have another stone developing. How does one stay on a vegan diet when beans is a source of protein that can replace animal meats and be oxalate free?
That will never be answered by these rwo. They talk and talk but never really say anything.
I agree that we are acknowledging more now how important eating plant protein is good for us kidney patients
Excellent presentation by both you …thank you …I shall be sending you an email for a very generalised advice ….
Home do we find the stages of kidney disease very informative chanel
What are your thoughts on taking anmio acids tablets for helping with my muscle mass as a woman in menopause stages, no kidney disease, had one stone at one time some years ago.
Thank you very much to the both of you.😊. for such sensibly wonderful information regarding good foods , particularly plant-based diet,(quality and quantity considered) to be taken in the body when one is having ckd..👆😊💖 .. so glad to have subscribed in here.. 🥰.. .. am wondering if your suggested diet applies also for those with kidney stones (unluckily I got these unwelcome stones🙄) . wish you could make clarification on this matter..🤔 thanks again to the both of you.. God bless your hearts❣️
There are some differences/specifics for kidney stones! In general, low sodium, less animal protein, plenty of fruits and veggies, good hydration, low added sugar are all very important for kidney stones and CKD. We will have an episode or episodes specific to kidney stones in the near future....check out www.thekidneydietitian.org for kidney stone specific information!
The quality and quantity of proteins is determined by the source of amino acids which are the constituents of protein cells . A single protein cell is made from a polypeptide chain of all the amino acids. Food sources comprising of the highest quality and quantity of amino acids will give you the best supply of proteins.
Is is good to keep the kidneys warm for example with a warming bottle?
Does it make a difference if I drink warm or cold beverages?
thank you for doing this, this is very helpful ... i exercise everyday, and i have been taking collagen, amino acids and creatine supplement for post workout. I have stage 3b CKD. How am I supposed to think about this? Am I just supposed to take a low dosage first with alll those supplement and kind of watch it from there and adjust if necessary?
I would take have as much as a normal person with two.
You both are 😇😇!!!!!Now I found you don’t let you go🙏🇧🇷❤️🥰
great video. I switched to 80% vegan foods. I feel better than I have since being diagnosed with ckd. I try and enjoy small amounts of chicken, salmon, and lean hamburger meats. I keep those portions to 3 oz or less and only do maybe every other day or every 3rd day.
We're so happy that you have been able to switch to an 80% plant based diet and are feeling better! Keep it up :)
Hi to both of you! Greetings from Romania and congratulations for the interesting channel! My question is: the quantity of protein/kg is the portion per meal or per day? Thank you and I keep watching you with interest. Good luck!
Hello all the way in Romania! The general protein recommendation discussed in the video is per day, not per meal.
@@PlantBasedKidneyHealth Thank you and good luck!
Awesome podcast
Much appreciated! Thanks for listening!
Here's some questions:
is there a test to find out if your allergic to tofu / soy? I heard someone couldn't find out why they kept spilling protein in urine because they were eating minimal protein. Ended up being an allergic to tofu/soy & that caused it?
Thoughts on taking a complete amino acid powder / drink? Does that count as part of our protein content? They usually don't label how much protein it has? Could we start taking one of these in our early stages of kidney disease like stage 2 / 3a and live offer a lower protein diet? Would that help preserve kidney function longer without losing our lean body mass (muscles) say like 0.4 g/kg/day of protein? Are there prescriptions for something like this or do we just get it at the health food store? How do we choose a quality product? Do these amino acids / keto-analog supplements put added stress on the kidneys when it gets broken down by our liver and kidney or since it's not directly protein does it not add to the load? Is there less nitrogenous waste? What are ketoanalogues? Albutrix tablet / Ketorena powder
How do we know how low we should go in protein? How do we know how high we can go in protein? What labs should we be looking at if we are too low or too high in protein? If I look at the guidelines it shows a 180 pound man should get 3.2 ounces - 9.3 ounces protein day if we use this formula - CKD Stages 3 - 5 - 0.28* - 0.8 g/kg/day. It's hard to get any concrete advice. My dr says don't worry about it. Pretty sure I need to worry about it.
When eating plant protein how do we make sure we are getting a "complete" protein? Meaning we know plant sources of protein generally don't contain all of the 9 essential amino acids. so how do we combine plant based food items to make sure we get all our essentials thru-out the day/week.
how does the renal acid load affect me by eating animal protein vs plant protein? What labs would show this?
How can we find out how fast my kidney disease will progress? Any reliable methods?
animal protein vs plant protein whats the difference? if they say 3 oz serving of protein for say dinner... Thats for both plant and animal protein? Does plant vs animal protein effect you differently?
Can you go over the protein with creatinine urine test & ratio? What it used for? How can you fix the values? like eat less animal protein? Eat less protein in general? Other things that cause abnormal numbers?
How does keto work in CKD? What protein levels should we be having? The same protein just huge amounts of fats?
If we have Protein leaking in the urine how do we determine what the cause is? Lowering protein should help yea? How do you know how low to go if it's not getting better? What are all the labs we'd look at
Albumin Creatinine ratio (urine test) -
Under 30 mg/g is normal for the raio. There should be none in urine when kidneys are functioning correctly.
What are Normal range of creatatine in the urine?
What are Normal range of Albumin in the urine?
What can we do to make these numbers better? What effects it the most?
What can we do do get our BUN down? Is it mainly just affected by the protein we eat? If we've rules out not taking antiobiotics, stomach or intestional bleeding? How many days does it take to see an effect in labs after change in diet?
Thanx guys. Gobbling up every episode. Love it Came at the perfect time.
Great questions. We added them to our list.
@@PlantBasedKidneyHealth Efficient reply to a laundry list of questions 👍🏽🤣 Luv it!
Can Michele suggest a few smartphone apps that can estimate the nutrient totals (PRAL, protein, carb, fat, Na, K, P, Ca, etc.) for a recipe please?
Cronometer is the best one! :)
Please include how cheese affects the kidneys in the future. Also is Vegan cheese recommended?
We have added this to the list to address in an upcoming episode. Great question!
Yes very fine gr/ kg weight but my question is how you know, how much protein is in any of the beautiful plants which you want to eat like 100 gr. Of carrots for Dinner or lunch ? Does 100gr carrots equal to 100 gr. Protein? Or what ? Thank you for advice!
Thank you so much for all your advice. Do you have any specific advice for those of us who do not, as such, have chronic kidney disease but have suffered an Acute Kidney Injury due to covid and long covid?
We will definitely do a video specific to AKI! Great recommendation. All of your videos are still relevant for overall kidney health for people who have recovered from Acute Kidney Injury though. Minimally processed, plant predominant, low sodium, high fruit and veggies, protein based on where labs/kidney function are!
@@PlantBasedKidneyHealth Thank you so much. Your reply and advice is very much appreciated.
Check out the miracle food moringa powder and acacia fiber.
Please discuss msm for kidneys....good or bad?
How can i find a renal nutritionist? I have stage 4 kidney cancer and down to one kidney and being treated at UCSF and Stanford.
Thanks a lot to both of you!!
Our pleasure!
does drinking diluted food safe liquid chlorophyll help in any way in making a body alkaline or less acidic?
I'm looking to start on perfect amino, no kidney disease. And like to know if the animo tablet has any effects on kidney.
You can usually get all the amino acids you need from your diet, but we do have a video on amino acid supplements and kidney disease....for someone without kidney disease though, you may be fine taking it. You will want to check with your physician/renal dietitian so they can review your health and needs and make an individualized recommendation!
Is plant base Diet can help to stop progression of Kidney failure even though there is a strong Family history like mom and brother ended up on dialysis :(
Please any information about kidney fibrosis, thanks.
What is recommended if protein is not properly digested.
Hi very informative video. What are your thoughts on Beyond Meat and Impossible Meat. They are plant based BUT aren't they also a processed food?
Yep, you are correct! We do not recommend regularly consuming those highly processed vegan meat alternatives. Best to get protein from whole, plant food sources.
@@PlantBasedKidneyHealth good to know
Helps get people from meat burgers to plant based but goal should be whole food plant based with no ultra processed foods with meat, dairy or plants. If you're cutting down salt, oil and sugar too then it's easier to cut out crap foods.
What can people do who have to eat carnivore to prevent a host of other issues?
Hi thanks for your advice on plant based foods as never tried that...my kidney tests show I am 44(think that's 3b) and the Dr wants to put me on dialysis..but a friend told me I dont need that as its too soon.what must I do as also have a fatty liver...please advise what I should do.. i hope that you can help me ..thanks very much
Definitely re-address with your physician. Dialysis is typically not started until eGFR is below 15%. If yours is at 44%, there might have been a misunderstanding with the doctor.
Hi as of last year around April I was diagnosed with stage 2 ckd I ended up losing my insurance and went 1 year of not going to a dr until this past April I’ve not done anything for my kidney health I’m slowly getting better at it. Well I have a primary again now and I’m just kind of wondering if my ckd would progress to 3 with only 1 year or would I be in stage 2 still I have foamy urine and high bp. Can I still eat animal protein if in stage 2 still ?
I need help.... 🥴Diabetic with ckd3. I don't know what to eat anymore between low carb and low protein .. I thought I was doing well eating only salmon, chicken, occasional eggs and cheese, but I keep reading that to avoid dialysis only Plant based is recommended... I'm starving 🤔
I should say that, by eating low carb, I did manage to strictly control my diabetes and went from an A1C of 7.8 to 5.3. no more meds.
I'm asking all this because your videos are so clear, you explain so well and I really feel that you can help.... 🙏
My other question is if 1 ounce of chicken is equal to 7 g of protein and 1 oz of broccoli is equal to 1 g of protein then 3 ounces of broccoli would seem like a lot more🥴
hello! Make sure to check out our two videos on Diabetes and kidney disease for more information on that! As for animal and plant protein, there are more protein dense plant sources like legumes, seeds, tofu and other soy proteins that are more comparable to animal protein.
@@PlantBasedKidneyHealth thank you but I was looking and hoping for a more informative answer.
They answered your question. Salmon, chicken and occasional eggs and cheese are not plant based are they? You don’t have to starve. There are so MANY plant based cookbooks and UA-cam videos.
how do you guys measure protein in your food?
Protein can be measured by weight (especially if you're measuring animal protein, that's usually in ounces). Or it can be measured by size (like 1/2 cup of beans or 2 Tablespoons of nut butter)
What about a video about protein power consumption? They are so convenient but can they damage the kidneys? Should them be taken only if after exercising or without exercising?
Stay tuned! We will have another episode on protein and protein powders!
Would dialysis extend one’s live span or should someone (with stage 4 kidney disease) try to maintain kidney health through a strict diet?
Hi, what about iron, the kidneys need hemoglubin that carries iron and oxygen to the kidneys
Thank you for these videos. I have been underweight/extremely high metabolism my whole life and recently found the only thing that helps me gain weight is bodybuilding. I weightlift 3 times a week and everyday try to eat 2000cal/100 g of protien. I’ve only ever used organic non gmo plant protien powders but PKD runs in my family. I’ve gotten ct scans for appendicitis and found I have some cysts.. I don’t have any other symptoms and I’m really healthy, only eat organic grass fed food. Is this lifestyle going to lead me to kidney failure? I feel stuck like I have to choose between progressing my cyst growth with a high protien diet and finally being a healthy weight and happy with my body 🥲
If you have pkd it will progress by itself no matter how well you take care of them. Mine didn’t emerge till late 30’s. Just live your life and get yearly check ups and monitor your kidney function. Hopefully it skipped you. Unfortunately I didn’t really care until it was too late. My first symptoms where unusual high blood pressure for a normally healthy person. Good luck
@@clinte9897 What was your blood pressure and were you overweight?
@@yuvaryugam3434 yes I was about 20 pounds over weight. Blood pressure was 180/75 ish. But since I’ve lost 30 pounds and started renal diet my BP has dropped to 128/63.
what is your thoughts on auryxia!
Make sure to check out our phosphorus episodes where we discuss different phosphorus binders!
What about eggs?
I'm a transplant patient ,how many grams of protein do I need to eat per day ?
is it harmful for a CKD patient to incorporate pea protein meat like Dr. Prager or impossible into a diet along with veggies and nuts ?
How do you prevent kidney disease if your Creatine levels is a little high?
Drink lots of water that helps lower creatine levels.
Tday, 1/30/22 thx much
Thanks for looking out on your channel am feeling pain on back n went to see a doctor but he said am having ulcer but now am having more pains at the whole back please let me if it's my kidney problem
Its really important to see your doctor and have it checked out.
Is there a difference in fish protein from beef, chicken, pork protein?
Most studies classify animal (beef, chicken, pork) vs plant. On spectrum of worst to least would be beef/pork then chicken and then fish.
What about meat protein …
What about bodybuilding can people use plant based
I wonder how far away are stem cell therapies for kidneys.
Hopefully sooner than later!!!
Do the kidneys assimilate plant and animal protein in a different way, or is plant and animal protein the same thing?
Great question. Its not so much the kidneys but the acidity created in the body from animal protein.
I'm plant based. But heamaglobin went down to eight. After taking iron tabs it's gone to nine and half. I guess it has to come to 12..im fifty eight kg weight. Age seventy four
Can we eat eggs for protein?
wait you said for stage 3-5 (not on dyalisis) need about 0.55-.6 gram per kg of protein while stage 3-5 (on dyalisis) need about 1-1.2 gram per kg of protein. Isn't the other way around? So the one on dyalisis need like 2X the amount of protein as the one NOT on dialisis? Oooh i think it is to replace the protein that are being flush out during the dyalisis? Thank you
Yes! People on dialysis have higher protein needs due to risk of malnutrition, catabolic state, and loss of protein/amino acids from the process of dialysis. People with CKD that are not on dialysis and looking to preserve kidney function are recommended to follow a low protein diet.
Since vegetables (green) have Vitamin K. I am on blood thinners and I wonder how to work that?
If on a blood thinner like coumadin/warfarin, consistent vitamin K intake is important. You don't want large variations in intake from day to day. Talk with your doctor/dietitian about the right amount for you :)
I have FSGS is eggs ok to eat on kidney diet
Hello! We will add eggs to a discussion in an upcoming episode! Thanks for your question and for watching/supporting out channel.
Is it possible to get the kidney's healthy and strong again?
It is possible to slow or halt progression of CKD or see improvements. Every person/situation is different but diet and lifestyle are huge for helping this!
Hello from Jamaica. Can you give the measurements in lbs as well i am stage 3b and am confused. I am trying to change to plant based but can i have fish. Also i fast 1 day per week. Thanks
To go from pounds to kilograms you divide weight in lbs by 2.2. So for example, 150 lbs divided by 2.2 is 68.18 kg. Then you can use your weight in kg to estimate protein needs! :)
Is fish ,salmon considered animal protein ? What about insect protein , crickettes ? What category do these create ?
Lol
How many grams/Kg protein would you suggest for someone who does not have kidney “disease,” but technically it’s “mild kidney damage” because eGFR is 85 (all other labs are good and no protein in urine).
I realize that’s a dream eGFR for many pple here but I do have friends my age (mid 50’s) with eGFR over 100. I’m female with no health problems but I do lift weights and would like the max safe amount of protein to build muscle, but preserve or reverse some of the damage that’s starting. I do eat all plant-based. Thank you in advance. Love your videos ❤️
Hello! CKD Stage 1-2 which is an eGFR < 90 but over 60 and with no proteinuria, the recommendation is generally to avoid excessive protein intake of more than 1.2 g/kg. This can obviously vary from person to person, but that is a general guideline to go off of. And of course, choosing minimally processed plant proteins over animal protein will help.
Is leafy vegetables good to have in diet or no?
Leafy vegetables are great to have in the diet. There are so many options depending on a person's individual potassium needs. Spinach is a higher potassium leafy green while kale, arugula and collard greens are lower in potassium.
I’m in stage 3 is it ok for me to use Nepro Nutritional Drink to be able to get my nutrients? I would love a reply!
We have some episodes on protein supplements that you can check out! But we generally don't recommend protein shakes for stages 3-5 that are on lower protein diets to help preserve kidney function. It is usually easy to get plenty of protein from whole, plant foods :)
@@PlantBasedKidneyHealth
Thank you for responding! I’ve started on Amino Acids will this help? I’ve also been on plant based for the past year! I’m unable to find a CKD Nutritionist here in Maryland. I’ve been to reg Nutritionist but they are totally useless. I’m on Low Potassium- Low Sodium and Protein and they keep giving me recipes with so much of the above with the result I stopped going to them!
How does dairy protein fit into all of this? Is fat free Greek yogurt a bad source of protein?
We have an episode on dairy!
I was diagnosed with Proteinuria ( small amount in my urine)
I am a diabetic that is well control. I don't know where to start. I never eat any red meat . But I do like chicken, fish and turkey, occasionally.
My question, what is the best solution to eliminate protein in my urine?... There's s
alot of plants base food with a lot of protein.
So much of proteinuria has to do with inflammation. Check out our video on creatinine and proteinuria and we plan to have more episodes addressing the topic!
What about flaxseed.
Flaxseeds are a great healthy fat/fiber source that contains some plant protein as well.
Isn't 0.8 grams of protein per kilo of bodyweight based on ideal or lean bodyweight?
Is gluten bad for our kidney health?
Great question! In general, gluten is not bad for kidney health. Some people may benefit from following a gluten free diet, but it is very individualized. We will address gluten in an upcoming episode for sure!
What about prebiotics, probiotic and sinbiotics? What about fasting (18-6 or time restricted)? what about mitochondria, mitofagia? what about Akkermansia (anaerobic probiotic)? What about supplements (Resveratrol, quercetin, fisetin, etc) that mimetics fasting and force the body to repair, rebuild senescent cells? Is it possible to repair in kidney?
Hello Jaime, we have added all these great questions to our list of questions to discuss in upcoming episodes! Thanks for tuning in :)
I don’t understand how to calculate protein needs
I have a sore back i had my prostate removed 2019 and radiation 39 treatments, i have bubbles in my urine
I got diagnosed with a GN -- which has, in all probability, led to CKD -- out of the blue last summer. Since, I've been on prednisone (60 mg/day) for a couple of months and then transitioned to MMF (Mycophenolate) about 2 months ago. Over the two months on prednisone, I saw significant signs of the prednisone effect in reducing the inflammation accompanied by a plant-based, 100% vegan diet-- including my eGFR going from 42 to 62 over those two months. But as I've transitioned, it's gone back down to 48 over the past month -- but, the rub is that I've also included much more protein. In fact, working it out, it's probably about 3 grams of animal protein for every one of my 60 kg(!). My proteinuria is nearly gone -- so I do think the animal protein has stressed my kidneys, at least in the short term. I went back to vegan when I heard you speak last week, Dr. Hashmi, and have some hope that my eGFR will bounce back over the next few months. So much appreciation. Maybe even more so from my wife, the yoga teacher, who's been telling me I eat too much meat since she met me. Do you have some thoughts? My nephrologist has been wonderful, though a bit in the dark (so far) about the benefits of a plant-based diet for me.
How much protein did u have in your urine ?
@@chetanrsExtraordinary amounts -- the protein/creat ratio was at about 10,000. It's now trace -- about 136 and not showing on a dipstick. My eGFR is back to low 60s. I have some hope it will continue to bounce back.
@@TrumpetManinNC 10,000?!!! How long did it stay in this range ? You must've had a lot of foamy urine then ? What was your diet like when you had this much protein in the urine ?
What is your diet like now ?
@@chetanrs Proteinuria was probably at that level for a few months before I got a biopsy and diagnosed with MPGN. It did look like someone had dropped dishwashing liquid in the toilet -- the bowl would simply fill with foam. My diet, however, was relatively good/organic/balanced -- if a bit tilted toward meat. The difference over the past year has been a (basically) Ayurvedic, largely plant-based, gluten-free diet (for Pitta/Vata imbalance), supplements like turmeric (about 3g every day) and Qing Dai (about 1.5g each day), cod liver oil, etc. Which is what I maintain right now, if with less obsession (I'll have some gluten and meat now and then, some ice cream, etc. But very little and rarely, though less and less so as I get healthier). Protein has gone steadily down and still decreasing, renal function is steady and hopefully still improving. Thank God things have turned around this past year -- it could have gone very south.
if i weigh 10 kg how much protein per day ?pls can u make it clear like 0.8 grams is it 2 tablespoons of meat?also is chicken meat has less protein then beef?
For example, if you weigh 100 pounds, that is 45.45 kg (100/2.2). 45.45 kg x 0.8 grams protein per kg body weight = 36 grams of protein/day. 1 ounce of meat, chicken, fish or egg is ~ 7 grams of protein.
How are your kidney numbers if i may ask. Thx
