    When she said she's privileged, I had a goosebumps...It would take tons of humility to say that. I came across many privileged celebrity and non-celebrity who would rather say, I worked hard for where I am instead of admitting the help they received to get where they are now. Belle is so underrated to be honest.

    So many lessons to unpack in this interview. Belle is one of the few examples of Modern Parenting. Especially what she shared na she allows her son to wear dresses kasi yun ang gusto niya at this age…not everybody will understand that and for sure may mga mag bbash sa kanya diyan na makaluma mag isip. Walang konsepto ang mga bata ng kung ano ang dapat pang babae lang o pang lalaki lang. Para sa kanila that is expression. Whichever form they express themselves, it is the job of parents to support and guide - not dictate.
    Thanks Belle for sharing these insights!

    • @raemflores
      @raemflores Рік тому +14

      Actually more importantly, there is no 'pang lalaki and pang babae'. They are just clothes; literally pieces of fabric that cover you. This idea that it is important to draw distinctions between male and female anything is truly one of the most toxic colonial/religious ideas. precolonial Filipinos never thought it was important to distinguish between the two, just look at our languages. They have no gender. We don't ascribe nurturing, kindness, toughness, or strength to one or the other because we understand that men women and other genders CAN BE ALL things. There is no 'proper' man or 'proper' woman. It's just utter nonsense.

    • @zekeniah4260
      @zekeniah4260 Рік тому +14

      @@raemflores Not sure what you meant by "proper" man and woman, but to deny the importance of distinctions between male and female is like living in a fantasy world, completely detached from reality. Yes, there is panglalaki at pambabae. Yes, clothes are just pieces of fabrics but we all know that they are part of our basic needs, and women require more clothes than men for an obvious reason of course, or shall we also deny the existence of women's breasts? Distinction between male and female is very much required in this world, like in the medical field for example. Even our body's water requirement relies on our gender. The importance of these distinctions between male and female is not just a colonial/religious idea, they are FACTS proven and required by science. We don't have our own version of pronouns but our dialects certainly have gender distinction, we have "ate, kuya, tiyo, tiya" just to name a few. To deny FACTS by a mere opinion is utter nonsense, and very much toxic.

    • @zekeniah4260
      @zekeniah4260 Рік тому +3

      Yes po, walang konsepto ang mga bata kung ano ang dapat pambabae at panlalaki, almost everything to them ay laruan. That is why very important ang role ng mga parents because they are their first teachers. Teaching is completely different from dictating. We can teach them kung alin ang panlalaki at pambabae, kung alin ang laruan at hindi, but not to really force them to do things that will eventually give them trauma.

    • @raemflores
      @raemflores Рік тому +1

      @@zekeniah4260 I’m not talking about biological differences. That’s obvious. Women give birth. Have periods. Have larger breast tissue to feed children. That’s not what I’m disputing. What I disagree with are the norms that people assign. And you brought something up perfectly. You suggest women need more clothes because they have breasts. Besides physical support I think it’s actually a leftover of colonialism. Covering your breast for ‘modesty’ is a religious norm that’s actually meaningless. Why women should cover their breast and not men is ridiculous if they don’t want to cover them. What does water intake have to do with this? Those facts do not support the ideas that people have about what roles men and women play in society. Like women should be ‘mahinhin’ and passive. Or that men should be the ‘breadwinner’. Those are not facts. They are subjective cultural norms adopted from a foreign culture. Tito tita tiyo and tiya included. Ate and kuya are honorifics to show respect but don’t suggest anything about how those people should behave. Sorry no one here is denying facts, just norms.

    I like how the way they touched base on allowing kids to express themselves when they are at the height of their emotions, especially when they are mad. Old school parenting methods were so one-sided that parents then forgot that kids' state of mind is not the same as that of adults. It is really good when we learn from our own childhood and think of ways to improve them to make our kids a better version of themselves. I love this episode.

    Being a single-working Mom, we tend to do everything and anything for our kids. Not because we want to spoil out kids but because we want to fill that void that we thought mightvmake them feel incomplete. There’s nothing wrong with that actually since we are doing that out of love. However, since we are giving everything, wala ng natitira sa atin at ang ending mas nasasaktan natin mga anak natin dahil sakanila natin naibabaling ung mga issues or battles natin sa puso natin. Thanks Belle, for reminding us that self affirmation will help us overcome our negative thoughts and shift the way we’re thinking to be more positive.

    I first saw Belle in Playhouse and i really find her simple but stunningly beautiful. I am a mother of two teenagers now and to me, communication is the best way to meet halfway. Let your kids express themselves witjout judging them. Most of the time, before a word is spoken parents especially mothers pass their judgement right away and instead of achieving a healthy relationship it only ends up ruining it.

    I saw Belle Daza sa Art in The Park back in 2015, kung maganda na sya sa screen, mas maganda pa sya lalo in person! I had to look twice sabi ko omg si Belle Daza nga! Truly beautiful inside out!!!

    This episode is very helpful. It’s a reminder for moms that you are enough even with all your imperfections and flaws. From now on, I’ll try my best to be kinder to myself and give affirmation to myself that I am enough.huhuhu nakakaiyak.❤

    Isabelle Daza is an amazing role model. She has achieved many great things in her life and now she’s sharing what it takes to overcome nearly impossible challenges along the way. May she and her family receive blessings. This is a great interview overall. We all hope to see more people share their stories on this channel.

    This is one of the best episode of Toni Talks. Belle is very honest and you will learn a lot by just watching this interview, very educational and informative. I enjoyed watching Toni Talks kudos to Toni too for being a great host. Thank you Belle for that book for appreciating the Yaya's and treating Yaya Luning like family. I was just moved by that which is the right thing to do. That's why I loved BELLE even is she don't know me coz she's makatao at may puso. Watching from Sacramento, California.
