    When tightening the hex screw it's a good idea to hold the set screw with its hex wrench to prevent the setting from changing.

    My new 457 LPR is shooting incredibly well and I have been able with the help of this excellent video to get the trigger down to 9 oz's on my RCBS trigger pull gauge. Love CZ as a company.

    Thanks! I am pleased to report that you can reach the take-up screw with the short end of your tiny 1.5mm, WITHOUT taking anything apart. I wanted more travel, like my Timney two-stage, and I got it (counter-clockwise) without botching any screws. My 457 AT-ONE produces sub-3 MOA groups regularly....peep sights at 25 yds...age 74.
    Two other thoughts: the torque on the action screws is 31 in.lbs., per the stock change vid.....Contrary to one rumor, mine eats CCI Quiet .22’s all day long, the tight CZ lockup makes them really quiet.
    Added take-up, without take-down....5 in one big hole.....one click high. I might as well poke holes in the bullseye before I hang the target, and save on ammo.

    @CZ firearms: are you sure, that the overtravel adjustment is presented the right way in this video? Shouldn't tighten the screw reduce the amount of overtravel?
    Beause when I tighten the screw completely, the shot will not break - holding the trigger and losening the screw (turning it out) will release the firing pin after 1/2 turn with zero overtravel. If I keep turning the screw outwards, the amount of overtravel increases.

    Replacing my Ruger 10.22 trigger with a KIDD trigger set to 8+8oz, I am convinced I will adjust my 457 to something like that.
    Excessive trigger pull, in my view, causes the gun to flinch as it all pings into a different position...
    Thanks for the vid. Just what I need...

    With the YoDave trigger spring, I can get the trigger pull to one pound. Without it I couldn't get the pull to below 2.5 pounds.

      I got mine down to one pound by simply following the directions above, without any different springs. Got the 1st stage to a nice, short travel, into a "wall" that just "clicks" when the shot fires. Shoots like a 300.00 aftermarket trigger right from the factory with nothing additional purchased.

    Really... a 1.5mm and 2mm screw?? Just make them both 2mm. 1.5mm screws are worthless and just too easy to strip.

    • @brucebell1809
      @brucebell1809 Місяць тому

      How can you strip the thread. All you are doing is adjusting the position of the screw within the mechanism. You're not clamping anything down tight. It's not scope rings or stock bolts..🥴

    • @chevyon37s
      @chevyon37s Місяць тому +1

      @@brucebell1809 should’ve clarified, the head in the 1.5mm hex screw. They strip out very easy due to the small size of the tool and not a lot of engagement. Yeah the application here doesn’t take much torque but dealing with 1.5mm hex anything is awful

    Why did CZ ruin what would have been a beautiful 457 Premium rifle by putting the gaudy, ridiculous-looking name tags on the stock?

    • @chevyon37s

      You mean the sticker they put on it, like every other long gun manufacturer puts on as well? They can easily (and should) be removed by the purchaser. Don’t be a dope, it’s for marketing and easy identification when they’re on a rack at a store.

    What is the minimum pounds the trigger can be set for? After coaching and shooting off hand and 3 position with Anschutz rifles for decades, I really need my new CZ 457 Varmint AT-ONE rifle to be able to go down to about 7 ounces. My fear is, as usual, the minimum is about a pound and a half, which will force me to purchase after market.

      Mr Damon, I think theses are 2 almost completely different rifles. The Anschutz a first class target rifle (almost as good as my Lithgow 101 😂👍) while the 457 Varmint is a hunting rifle although can do a great job at double duty if it needs to. I for one wouldn’t feel all that comfortable walking round the woods with a 7oz trigger squirrel hunting! Kind regards from across the pond
