That was a treat. What a nice loco. How many of those little coaches actually formed a consist in those days? You’ve got four there but were they actually longer than that?
I don’t know although ironically, I have just bought a Midland book but haven’t opened it yet. I did find this that mentions the subject, “Passenger Traffic was well looked after by 4-4-0 locos singly or double headed, the average train length being 5 bogies and a couple of brakes,horse boxes and CCTs”.
