My instructor told me i should indicate when reversing while doing 3 point turn, is that necessary ?

Yes that is right, we have to indicate in the direction we are reversing, even in 3 point turn. Thanks a lot for your comment!

There is no requirement in the Vicroads test criteria to indicate whilst reversing. The is also no requirement to indicate right just before you drive off. A 3 point turn between the kerb requires 2 indicators, left to pull over to the left side of the road and right to move to the opposite kerb. A 3 point turn using a driveway only requires 1 indicator, and that's right to go into the driveway. No other indicators are required. Although you won't be penalised if you did use them.
Think of it this way, you are in the middle of the road and driving off, you're not changing lanes, you're not turning into a driveway and you're not parked, moving onto the road. You're simply driving forward from the middle of the road.
