I love Elliot Gould!!! I enjoyed every time he played Jack Geller on “Friends”, and his chemistry with actress Christina Pickles (Judy) was always enchanting 😊. His character reminds me so much of my dad, caring, nurturing and wise with a fun sense of humor.

They were a foil for Rachel's parents. They showed that couples that age could be very much in love and happy, playful and still together. Provided balance to the show.
Out of all the parents on the show, the Gellars were the only ones who stayed together and still loved each other. Rachel’s parents divorced. Chandler’s parents divorced. Phoebe’s father left her mother for another woman and then left the other woman for a third woman. Joey’s parents are still together, but his dad cheats on his mom and she knows it but won’t get divorced. Mike’s parents are still together but they don’t really count because he wasn’t a main character.
I’m sure you will. And if you decide to children, make sure you do better than what Jack and Judy did to Ross (enabling) and Monica (emotional negligence and possible verbal abuse).
I love Jack because he's never been cruel to monica like Judy always was. Judy had no right to be as awful to monica as she was. I'm glad Judy chilled out in the later seasons though.

"What about Ben?" They never get to see Ben since he's raised by people who aren't related to them, Ross. I know it's just a show, but I can't blame Jack saying that cuz I forgot Ben existed when Emma was born

And of course, their parents would be occasional guest stars!

The people who moan and make it a problem that Ben or Emma haven't been shown a lot on Friends are idiots who don't understand how the TV or movie world works, especially in sitcoms, which always have a core cast that episodes focus on. First thing - this simply wasn't a show about children. Ben and Carol (and later Emma) were background characters, only gues-stars from the START!! So it's obvious, the relationship between Ross/Ben or Ross/Carol happened mostly off-screen just as the relationship between Rachel and Emma, Emma/Ben or Rachel and her parents, or any of the 'Friends' with their relatives (Joey and his sisters, etc). Because the show was mainly about the six of main friends only. How hard is it to understand?! Secondly, anyone from the film industry would tell you, that filming with kids is hard as it is, even more so with very little ones, it rarely happens, it's too risky and complicated. This is why Ben was rarely there, in the episodes. They showed him 3 times in the beginning, 2 when he grew up a little, and maybe 2 times when he was older. U can't insult someone that wants to see more of Ben or Emma when parents give birth they are expected to be there for the kids as a responsibility the kids should have been there much more instead the show focused on girlfriends and sex disgusting and Cole Sprouse was very much available during the filming of friends so were Callie + Noelle their job literally is acting Having them on more would have been fantastic one of thr biggest letdown of friends is that it was extremely unjust even to the partners of the characters
