Not every woman has that kind of money to spend on plastic surgery JUST for other people, so it’s most likely she did it because she wanted it herself. Of course getting plastic surgery for other people is way more prevalent in stuff like the music industry, but in normal life it usually isn’t like that unless someone is extremely insecure, or pressured by the online media. This woman didn’t even have many things to be insecure about, and in real life not many people would comment on it at all; not only that but the number one reason people get plastic surgery in the first place is for self-confidence and I don’t see how getting surgery done to be more confident is a bad thing at all.
In this case all you are doing is judging this woman without any context to why she got surgery. You aren’t helping her or any other woman at all by saying she’s wrong for possibly helping herself become more comfortable in her own skin.

A lot of people saying they respect her going through such extreme measures, but I really don’t. Don’t get me wrong, she looks lovely, and she did a great job taking care of herself after surgery so she could heal. But I openly and loudly disrespect the culture, the people, and the society which drives people into thinking they need to treat their body like a home renovation project. A nose job here, a lip filler there, ok. But restructuring a bone? It’s just so extreme, and it’s so disheartening. I really hope she was able to talk to a mental health professional before undergoing such extensive surgery. Too often, plastic surgeons feed on people’s, especially women’s, insecurities and don’t consider the patient beyond a job that’s gonna pay the bills. We can all see her new, glowing outward appearance, but I really hope she was able to improve mentally and emotionally as well. Sometimes, when you aren’t satisfied with yourself before, those feelings stick around even after you get to where the grass looked greener.

Ya, it’s so sad that in South Korea getting plastic surgery is as common as getting braces. All K-pop stars have had it (though fans will probably disagree) and it’s just so sad that it’s even common for kids to get it

I'm just sad surgery is such a huge thing in South Korea. Honestly though, I respect anyone who makes that decision for themselves. She looks really good and I'm glad everything went well. The result is great and she seems much more confident! I just wish we lived in a world where we didn't need to alter ourselves to fit almost impossible standards.

@@Noobsarecoolya123judging from the post op photos she did. it looks like she managed to slim down her body. facial fat, however, is very different than the fat in the body (the ones you have on your arms, thighs, belly, etc.). it can’t easily be dissolved unless it’s surgically removed (see buccal fat removal that’s been doing the waves among women nowadays). the uppermost layer CAN go away (hence why some people have noticeably slimmed down faces when they work out) but for the most part it just stays there. her bones (i.e. cheek and jaw) were also the ones that were majorly shaved down too.

It’s not about what u like it’s about what she like and the beauty standards
It’s her choice if she gets surgery or not. Don’t say things like “you were so much prettier and natural before” and such. She did this because she wanted to and to be honest, she looks stunning. She also looks more confident in herself. Saying those things are like telling someone to not put on makeup because they looked better and more natural before. It’s their choice and if they want to do something, they have all the freedom to do so.

That’s not the same as telling someone not to put on makeup. Do you know the difference between makeup and surgery. Just because someone had the freedom to do something doesn’t make it good. You can tan doesn’t make it good for you.
Surgery can be addicting and set unrealistic beauty standards.
I would encourage people to try and find self love the way they are. Regardless of the surgery she may gain or lose weight, get wrinkles, cellulite, all these things. Maybe get into a horrid accident where she no longer has the same features. Not all of this can just be washed away by surgery. People need to learn to self love because as humans we grow and change and we won’t look the same in 10 years as we do now. So we need to learn to love ourselves without drastic surgery because their will come a day when surgery cannot cut away our persisted imperfections

I got sick and had to change my eating habits for 3 years--basically a vegetarian with only small portions of red meat. Anyway, my face completely changed after 40 lbs. of weight loss. There was no need for surgery, my chin, my cheeks, and my jaw line became more defined. I got healthier and saved thousands of dollars! I added some skin care, and it was a new me! Though the sickness itself sucked, the weight loss gave me a new look on life.

i’m also asian and just want to say ik ppl who’ve had ps done and thing is… they may appear more confident but always have insecurities there. society is never gonna be happy w you, esp asian society. if it’s your weight they have a problem with today it’ll be you legs tomorrow. from what my friends have told me they get less insults but still they are there, and a few have become more obsessed with their appearance after now becoming more “conventionally attractive” cos they have to uphold it. Ps doesn’t solve insecurities or get rid of societies pressure. i’m not talking down to anyone who does it, and if they’re more confident that’s fab. it’s just that more than half my friends have come out almost as insecure and keep undergoing procedures cos of pressure to uphold how they look now.
