Eventually, Kion and his guard had to go the tree of life to find healing. But he also said Makini, his apprentice, should go with them. At first, we thought it was only because she had been to the tree of life before and so she could help them with directions. But it was Ono that used his good memory to direct them, using the painting on Rafiki’s wall. So he probably sent Makini with them for another reason, and i think it has something to do with Rafiki’s strange visions.
