That old drip pan looked like it had some stories to tell! I'm going to attempt this on my 301 this weekend. Really appreciate your videos, thanks.

Looking forward to seeing more videos on this motor. I have a Singer 401a that has a motor that hesitates. I’m thinking it needs to be serviced. I’ve removed and rewired/serviced 2 potted motors on 15-91’s last year and they are running great. I’m just getting a 301 (beige) serviced. It is running great. Thanks for all your videos

Thank you Dale. If you have serviced Singer "Potted" motors, then you may find this style of motor more efficient to overhaul. At least I have found that to be the case. It appears that Singer designed it to be more easily accessed than the "Potted" design.

Direct drive motors were not produced for sewing machines in Brazil. Here only a few imported from Singer owned this engine and that less than 1%. It is rare to see a Singer Direct Drive sewing machine here in Brazil.

I have a 185K. It smells like the motor is going to burn about 2 min after it starts. What does that mean? Do you know anything about that model-is it like one of the ones you have showed in the series?
