Dean, you're the MAN! Awesome the changes that you performed on that Stentorian! Maybe next time, they will contact you to get some lessons how to build a truly mechanical mod! Congratulations are in order! Amazing!
I really like this video. I have made my own wooden unregulated box mod. I was just trying to see if I could do it. It isn't the nicest looking mod but works good. I have been wanting to make a box mech mod but was unsure where to purchase the guts. Also was unsure to what I need. Your video helped out a lot. Thank you. I did look on amazon for the copper straps. I am guessing they were selling large quantities it was a lot higher than I care to pay. 80 dollars and up. I am going to check my local hardware store in hopes to find something a little lower priced. It is crazy how a person can start vaping as a habit and it quickly becomes a hobby. Again thanks for the videos. I would really like to see a video where you make your own diy tutorial.
Glad you've made a mod and enjoy it, I've made loads that look ugly as hell but I've loved using them, and that's what it's all about at the end of the day :) Luckily over in the UK the copper strips come in packs of 5 or 10 so you don't have to get very many. You can always cut your own, but it was super easy to use something that had most of the work done already :) Good luck with the modding!
I don't think it's the best solution aesthetically, but I wanted to show some inventiveness, also I can stick something in the hole if I find it - oooo just thought of a skull in one of those ear hole extender plug things the youngsters wear - off to Amazon I go :D Cheers!
I spent a while making mods a few years ago, with varying levels of success, but it's great fun and highly recommended. modmaker.co.uk has some great wiring diagrams if you don't want to go full mech as well as all the bits you need to do it :)
Chapeau! I think that, opening it, I would think it was factory built that way (and, BTW, to a superior factory standard than your average oriental clone box)! Don't change the chuff-button, let it be your special signature item, instead! Can I suggest that you find something very small but really, really amazing and you encase it in clear acrylic resin inside the said big chuff-button? Like, say, a small shiny mineral or a crystal, a small fossilized shell or tiny seashell?
I was going to ask you to consider doing this, after watching your review for it. I guess those telepathy courses payed off. Thanks Dean, your non-review work is where and when you shine brightest! 😃
nice idea with the copper roofing straps may look into them next time im doing a set of contacts for a mech squonker, as for your dimple for the positive there are some jewlers pliers you can get that will allow you to put a dimple in, just incase you will be doing some more conversions or contact replacments.
Right now I'm dyeing white 3d printed mod a different color. I got it used and at a deal, but it was grimey beyond cleaning. Hope it comes out. I love tinkering.
thanks dean got one on its way, going to do the same. what type of chuff cap was it or do you have a button to recommend instead. an please do a film showing the diffrence in proformance to the standed ram to the full mech one plz great job thanks
Now, Mr Darth, if I had a button do you think I would have used a chuff cap? LOL No idea which cap it was, just one I had knocking about for ages buddy. Can't video the difference between the two as I only have one, and that's now got holes in and a lump of metal :)
Vaping Biker no problem just thought I'd ask. it's a case of suck it an see I'll work something out with the button but good job turning it full mech Mr biker ; )
GREAT REVIEW and NICE JOB ! I've had to do this to a couple of mods and I will say this , use a MODMAKER 510 , NOT a Fatdaddy V5 ! I've used both and The MM blows away the FD . MUCH BETTER CONNECTION .
Super great job!! Saw the pic on IG, and was really looking forward to the video. Why did you go with copper, instead of silver? Just curious. Again, AWESOME job!!! You own a 3D printer?
Nice job, yesterday a review and today the converse to full mech, you didn't waste any time did you. Would love to try out mech in the future but first need to gain a bit more knowledge, thanks for helping on that part.
Very nicely done, I’ve got a similar chuff cap from a Petri rda I may try and use. Just curious could the existing 510 still work with copper contacts?
Excellent! Just what I was wanting to do with mine! Not a fan of the button myself. Thx VB! Great tutorial👍🏼 Any noticeable difference in how it vapes?
So i did the conversion but i kept the original button and pin. 1st thing: a lot more Voltage, clouds for days... i guess the original cable was to weak and heated up losing power and probably thats what got it to break. So i highly recommend anyone with a ram to convert it to full mech
Jonathan Haillot hey the solder on mine broke a few days back but on button side. Will do this too and try to remain with the same button any extra tip you may have ?
It's actually pretty simple, remove the bottom plate and cable like in the video. The bottom plate with the logo will fall off and you will need the to trim it before glueing it back. Here is a pic of mine: imageshack.com/i/pnBWybfBj
how does a wire make it less mech tho? Because the electricity goes throught a round copper wire, its less mech than if it goes trough a thin copper plate... dont get it :-/
I didnt make the rules, but by definition most people would call this a unregulated mod. A mech cant have any wires or soldering. I would think the opposite actually. A plate probably has a muuuch lower resistance than a wire.
But...why? Im new to mech mods and i cant grasp the reason to go throught all this trouble, just to have the same mods but with out the wire. Does it make the battery give more watts or what?
Take that bottom logo button, file it down so it doesn't protrude through the box and put a couple of drops of super glue on it and put it back in the hole. Job done. No more hole.
Wonderful video. Chuff cap & roofing straps - brilliant! Love the editing/text explanations and that music track is very soothing. Well done, Dean!
Awesome, cheers :D
Dean, you're the MAN! Awesome the changes that you performed on that Stentorian! Maybe next time, they will contact you to get some lessons how to build a truly mechanical mod! Congratulations are in order! Amazing!
+Paulo Carvalho cheers! :-)
That was just outrageous Dean - thanks for sharing!

Wow Dean! Handy dandy Dean the mech maker machine! I dig it bro ! Quite handy for those looking to mechanize their ram! Cheers mate , good job
Great video! Nice guide for those of us who can't afford a hi-end mech squonker! Thanks Dean!
Cheers
That was a great video! I never miss one of your uploads, this one threw me for a loop but ended up being my favorite video ive watched all weekend!
Awesome! thanks :)
RAM as it should be from the beginning! Thanks Dean, amazing job! :)
Thanks!
Brilliant. Good job Deano.
Cheers buddy! Have you checked out modmaker.co.uk? There's some cool stuff on there ;-)
Amazing job Dean! Thanks for sharing.
Cheers!
Ordered this as my first squonker should be here any day now, cheers for the idea mate

Nice little vid Dean. Roofing strips ordered. Thanks for the tip mate.
:D
Nice bit of ingenuity there! Looks like it hits super hard now too. Thanks for sharing, cheers!
It definitely performs better :)
That was cool as hell Dean.
+Chris Schauer cheers :-)
Very, VERY nicely done! I hate the stock button. This is worth buying a couple of those mods for. Thank you for posting this!
Thanks buddy! :D
Battery Mooch why hate the button ?
The Vaping Mushroom I just don't like gold on my mods. :-)
Silver, SS, black, other colors..no problem.
That's crafty!! Awesome job Vaping Biker!!!
Ta daaaaa! :D
Cheers!
Bloody nice job Dean 👍👍
Cheers! :)
EXCELLENT! BRILLIANT! ASTOUNDING!
I feel that's over-egging it somewhat, but cheers
Nice one Dean, well done.
I did the same to my original Vandyvape Pulse. Miss you brother.
Great demo, matey.
Cheers! :)
The chuff cap button.... FKN BRILLANT !!!! The madman giggle at that aha!!! moment.
I don't think it's the best solution aesthetically, but I wanted to show some inventiveness, also I can stick something in the hole if I find it - oooo just thought of a skull in one of those ear hole extender plug things the youngsters wear - off to Amazon I go :D

Realy enjoyed this, not enough tutorials like this on You Tube. You are the man Deano, now where did i put me step drill Lol.
LOL Cheers Douglas
Nice work Dean, thanks for sharing

ah but it's a dean-rig ;-) LOL Cheers!
Love the video Dean I like to tinker with things loving the videos keep up the good reviews Dean :)
Tinkering is what makes all inventions happen, plus it's great fun :)
Thank you for showing us how easy it is to make a mod with a mod makers kit.
Cool vid Brutha. 😎
I may do a proper mod build one day, we'll have to see if I can find the time :)
That would be awesome Dean. A build video I am looking forward to seeing.
😎
Nice work Dean. 👍👍
Cheers :)
I know what I am doing this week ! Thanks Dean
Fantastic! The true meaning of the term MOD!
Great video man, I just bought a ram and I don't think I'll do this to mine but I'll definitely try it in another box. Super helpfull!
Wow great video for us to learn. Thanks Dean ... 👍
Cheers Jason
Please more of this videos! Thank you.
I'd like the time to do more tbh
Very nice!! That was awesome.
Mate I am so impressed by this!!
Sweet Conversation ! I enjoyed the Vlog and I really enjoy your Channel.
Awesome video, thank you for the ideas
Very slick! I've been wanting to turn an old Brownie into a mech, but no idea where to begin. I might have a few thoughts now!
I spent a while making mods a few years ago, with varying levels of success, but it's great fun and highly recommended. modmaker.co.uk has some great wiring diagrams if you don't want to go full mech as well as all the bits you need to do it :)
thank you dean! nice work
This is fantastic great job.
Cheers!
So creative! Awesome tutorial!
Thanks! :)
nice work Dean!
Thanks buddy! It was a fun quick project, and it's way better now :D
Chapeau! I think that, opening it, I would think it was factory built that way (and, BTW, to a superior factory standard than your average oriental clone box)!
Don't change the chuff-button, let it be your special signature item, instead!

Like, say, a small shiny mineral or a crystal, a small fossilized shell or tiny seashell?
And Now its a proper squonk!
Hell yeah man... I converted my dead royal edition snow wolf into a series mech with using the stock 510 , buttons and sled..
You done a great job dean well done 💪🏼 😊 cant fault it
Thanks Rachel :)
I was going to ask you to consider doing this, after watching your review for it. I guess those telepathy courses payed off. Thanks Dean, your non-review work is where and when you shine brightest! 😃
ah now, was the telepathy you sending me messages to do it, or me sending you messages to want to see it..... oooooooooOOOOoooooo
Cheers!
Well done. Excellent video.
Good work sir, you're a clever bugger!
I just bought the Ram so i can attempt this. Wish me luck. Thanks for the tutorial.
Amazing, Bro, you should start making your own line of mech mods :) I'll be waiting for!
LOL I've made a few in the past, not to sell though :)
Fair play, looks like a good job. 👍
It's a quick and dirty conversion, but it hits like a mofo now :)
Thanks for that... planning to do a little modding soon myself! 👽💭
Glad it was helpful :)
Very nice
Was looking at a ram recently but ended up doing something very simlar to a cheap Squonker instead
Damn Deano I think Philippe Patek are hiring!
LOL I'm pretty sure you can't bodge watches together eyeballing the measurements LOL ;-)
Who's a clever boy then. Good job Dean! The hole left by the logo button is a drainage hole incase the bottle leaks ;)
+Stuart Niven i like your thinking ;-)
Stuart Niven see thinking out the box, I like it lol
or added battery venting :)
thx for the link to the copper strips just sorted out 3 of my china made squonkers
Awesome :)
nice idea with the copper roofing straps may look into them next time im doing a set of contacts for a mech squonker, as for your dimple for the positive there are some jewlers pliers you can get that will allow you to put a dimple in, just incase you will be doing some more conversions or contact replacments.
yeah, I just bodged my way through it to show you don't need whizzy tools :)
Ohh so clever !! Looks good :D
Thanks :)
That's awesome man!!
Cheers Derek :)
And I bet it hit harder!!
Brilliant! I'm not nearly as handy as you at these things 😉👍
well done, I prefer it your way
Very interesting. :)
Cracking. I'd buy one 👍😁
Damn fine tutorial Dean thank you!
Cheers Ian :)
Im trying to do this myself and id be greatful if you could tell me what you used to make the copper strip stay in place at the bottom?
Right now I'm dyeing white 3d printed mod a different color. I got it used and at a deal, but it was grimey beyond cleaning. Hope it comes out. I love tinkering.
thanks dean got one on its way, going to do the same. what type of chuff cap was it or do you have a button to recommend instead. an please do a film showing the diffrence in proformance to the standed ram to the full mech one plz great job thanks

i did use a MM 510 LOL
Cheers :D
Hi @vaping biker
what is the thickness for this cooper ?
Im planning to get one from local.. but need to know the thickness
Good 1 Dean nice tutorial
Cheers Lyn :)
"Close enough for jazz"?
Naughty biker!
Proper Job
Super great job!! Saw the pic on IG, and was really looking forward to the video. Why did you go with copper, instead of silver? Just curious. Again, AWESOME job!!! You own a 3D printer?
Mainly because I'm poor and copper roofing strips are pretty much the right size :)
But trust me, it hits like a bad boy on crack now :)
Nice job, yesterday a review and today the converse to full mech, you didn't waste any time did you. Would love to try out mech in the future but first need to gain a bit more knowledge, thanks for helping on that part.
I'm a hard workin' mofo :D
Good to hear you're approaching mechs safely and sensibly :)
It's actually kind of sad that you have say that. Should be common sense to first investigate something before diving in. 🤣
You would think, but sadly too many people get into it these days that can't be bothered to learn anything
Nice work, man! But is it okay if you kinda put something for a firing button just like the stock button?
Pardon my ignorance but what makes it not full mech in the first place?
That was cool bet it
Hits like a train !
Yes it does, in fact I've got to build to a higher resistance in the atomiser that's on it now because it's a bit darn warm!
HOW DOESS A FULLY MECHANICAL MOD DIFFER FROM THE ORIGINAL WITH A WIRE. DOES THE VOLTAGE DROP DECREASE WHAT HAPPENS?
WoW Bravo! Totally enjoyed this👊🏼 #ManOfManyTalents 👏🏼👍🏼
+Nanette cool, glad you liked it, thanks!
Cheers! I think it definitely hits harder, but I didn't take a voltage reading beforehand sadly :(
YESS !!!
Nice job :)
Thanks :)
Dope AF!
the soldering on the button side of mine just broke, and that button is trash.
Gonna have to do that conversion, so thanks for that tutorial
So i did the conversion but i kept the original button and pin. 1st thing: a lot more Voltage, clouds for days...
i guess the original cable was to weak and heated up losing power and probably thats what got it to break.

bro , from where you get the Connection Dimple Punch Tool , ??
That's Sir is baaddaass.. I have the Ram & I'm tempted to give it a go. I feel performance is Lagging a bit due to the Wire. 👍
Personally I feel performance has now improved but I don't have the figures to back that up.
Cheers!
PEEK! PolyEther Ether Ketone! It's not a peak insulator, it's a PEEK insulator. Great conversion, though. :)
Job well done
Thanks muchly :)
Stunning! Might do this to mine :p
Pardon my ignorance, but what makes this 'full mech' now, rather than how it originally came?
No wires or soldering
Thanks, that makes sense!
how does a wire make it less mech tho? Because the electricity goes throught a round copper wire, its less mech than if it goes trough a thin copper plate... dont get it :-/

Certainly could, but I don't look at the underside of the box very much so it doesn't really bother me :)
