My girlfriend of 3 yrs decided I wasn't good enough for her and ended it. Although she told me she loved me, I didn't really feel it. I work at an airport and saw a lady standing in the terminal all by herself. She stood there and watched a plane fly away until it was nothing but a tiny black dot in the sky. She was waving at the plane even though it was miles away. She was the only person in the whole terminal. She turned around and was sobbing. I asked her if she was ok. She said that her husband was on that flight and that he was only going to be gone for 3 days. That's the kind of love I'm looking for and want to give. Have Mercy!

Good luck. It is amazing what women get away with in relationships.....almost always it is the man who is made to be the problem. Funny how we have a word in our language for men who hate women (misogynist) but no word for women who hate men. Yet, there is no shortage of women who hate men, but to have a word for that apparently would be politically incorrect. I have grown old enough where the PC people can kiss my ass. I put up with an enormous amount of bullshit from my ex wife. She thought it was her right to be a total bitch during her menses. She thought it was ok to be the boss in terms of running our family, since she was a feminist. She was wrong, and she was a complete asshole. Like so many women like her, she is now growing old alone, as no man is willing to put up with her shit. Keep it up girls.....eventually we men will get so tired of your bullshit that our species will cease to exist.....i could care less.

My husband of 33'yrs passed away from a stroke suddenly while I was in the hospital and I had to remove him from life support, the same day I was released from the hospital from having triple by pass. Since the economy has gone completely crazy my job just doesn't quite pay enough for me to get by so at this time I'm living in a motel room and paying weekly rent.... My family has tried to help me as much as they could... The winter is getting ready to settle in and that is when my depression really reaches its peak....
I guess I just have to get my big boy pants out and put them on and work harder at restarting...

In my case, the Mercy was on his end. We were married. We had vowed to love, honor and cherish each other "til death us do part". I took those vows seriously...He did not. He was controlling, manipulative, a womanizer and (even sometimes) physically abusive. But...I loved him and believed with all my heart that people could change. But when I realized how toxic his "love" was to me...I begged to be released. He denied letting me go (3 times) and each time I would leave, he would call me (apologizing and in tears) and I would go back. He promised to change, to get help and swore he would never do it again...In the end...his Mercy was letting me go. Now, every day, I am thankful that he found it in his heart to just set me free.
Patricia King... your story is almost identical to mine. I broke up with her three times and she kept coming back and saying she would work on things but then she'd slip right back into lying, manipulation and finally when she found someone else she released me. It hurt for months but with time these wounds will heal. I'm grateful to be free.

I'm going through something very similar to this, so reading it brought me to tears. In my case though, my man hasn't shown me MERCY by letting me go. It's is just so hard not to go back when you love him so much and want more than anything, for him to be telling the truth when he says he'll get help and change. This song reminds me of a time about a decade ago after me and my high school sweetheart broke up, and we were in that weird limbo where we were not together but spent a lot of time together. She was seeing someone else and it felt like she was stringing me along. I remember saying “just break my heart so I can move on with my life. Or choose me for good.” I wasn’t strong enough to walk away. I needed her to make the move, either way. This song hits that feeling on the head. Now I’m married almost 8 years with 2 kids and have never been happier, so that feeling is just a distant memory. But it’s good to feel that pain again sometimes because it reminds you you are human. Even if it just an echo of a time long past.

Last night I was invited to Brett Young’s concert. This song struck a cord with me. My husband cheated on me with the same sex. All she did was lie and cheat and hurt me until I hot the balls to walk away. I was sad, lonely and missed her. 5 days later she called to tell me she picked some one up in a bar. She got pregnant, lived with him for 3 years and they broke up and he took the child. They ended up in court she got the child back. Then she got pregnant from another guy. Same story so I stopped blaming myself. There are real fucked up people in the world so dont be hard on yourself

Trust me, if girls are toxic try changing them but it will most of the time be out of your control so just leave. This song means so much to me because, there was a girl in my life who was my life. She was everything to me. Then one day everything didn't come just crashing down, it imploded. She was scared of what other people thought about her and I, so she tried to change our relationship and who we were. I held on for about a year because I couldn't bear to live without her. Then one day she made a small comment about a friend of mine and that was it. She wasn't the girl I fell for anymore. I walked away and even now it's been the hardest thing I've gone through in my life so far. When this song came out, I thought I was at the point where I was ok, but I when listened to this song the first time, and I'm not an emotional guy at all, I just broke down because it was so close to my experience and I could see myself right there standing in front of her and wishing I had the strength to walk away earlier. It still stings and takes all the strength that I have to not just call her and see how she is doing because I know I will fall down that hole again. This song is my healing process...
Update: It's been almost a year and a half since I first posted this. I can't believe some of the encouraging words I see. This girl that I talked about, well it turned out that two months after I posted this, she was also seeing someone else, and for a while. It took a ton of self reflection and prayer, but now I'm finally in a place where I don't want to smash her windows anymore. Now I am just waiting for the woman who will love me for my wierd querks and will literally be lovesick over if we have to be apart

Divorced over 3 years ago, the wife left me and my baby boys I left my career to fight for the marriage even after divorce was finalized. And she wanted to be with her high school crush. Fast forward it never worked out for her and I’m still hurt trying to raise my boys. I still try to support her because I feel it’s the right thing to do for my boys. A heavy cloud is over my head every day and find it difficult to move on.
