    This has been my favorite how to video. Real life with family and getting stuff done that requires a lot of thinking power. You manage to do all of this calm and collected. Really an inspiration to the rest of us "Dads" out here. Thank you!

    .... sure impressed with how and where you ran the wires Todd, get it producing, looks like Tammy has some ideas of how to use that free electricity ... laughing ... free if you don't take the whole solar and peripherals into the equation. ... Tammy that was great that you left the whole "can't get the door to lock" segment. Had a good chuckle .... thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ....

    Pulling wires is so hard I use to help my husband pull wires when he is doing electrical work. But now you guys have your solar panels working yahhhhh.

    You might want to think about giving the panels a bit more clearance so air can flow under them. The cooler they are the more output they will give you. Otherwise nice job !

      Thanks Andy! Probably wouldn’t be a good fit for our channel but Todd does do consultations to help people with all kinds of fix it questions. Here’s a link to that. stan.store/spoondrifters

    Hey, just got a call from a band, looks like I will be at the pavilion near you guys at the mouth of the harbor this Friday night the 9th. I'm guessing yall are on the pier at the other end of the sidewalk at the base of the jetty. I will try make it over and say hi. How are the mosquitos behaving out there after all this rain?

    I see that you did install breakers for the solar panels, but you still need more protections, again let me know and I'll recommend some resources?

    If Todd is a rubber (membrane) roof specialist. I just, didn't buy a class "A" MH because of that roof. Also too old probably, but was sure a nice MH.
    Todd losing some weight? Looks good.

      Probably made a good decision. Bad roofs lead to many other problems! He is looking good! It’s because his wife is watching her weight so he doesn’t get as many treats. 😝

    While this is the first of you videos that I have seen, plan on more, I have two things of note. First the fusing needs to protect, yes wire first, but also equipment rating ect. With a traditional buss bar system you need an appropriate fuse between the battery and buss bar Second, you also need another fuse/circuit breaker sized appropriately for the equipment on the other side of the buss bar. In other words another words a fuse for the inverter, solar charge controller, solar panels ect, and all fuses/circuit breakers on the equipment side should ALSO protect the relevant wire going to/from those items!?

    • @Spoondrifters
      @Spoondrifters  2 роки тому

      Hey Mark, glad you found us. You’re right, we did not show all of the wiring all the way to the batteries, that includes more bus bars and fuses. There are a lot of opinions about how to wire solar. This was not a detailed how to video, but a basic overview. It took Todd many months of research to design our system and trying to explain the whole thing in less than 20 minutes would be impossible.👍

      @@Spoondrifters Ok, cool and understood, I just see some of these videos from people and don't know their whole set up, but feel the need to inform towards research and making sure that it is safe and fire resistant, as much as reasonable, while protecting their investment ect. And some people overlook something, as people do. And it is still high amperage and voltage in places. Glad to hear you already did your homework!

      It is isn’t it? It took Todd a while to wrap his head around it and get everything that he needed to pull it together.
