If you'd like a tutorial on "Un Sospiro" all being well I could put something together in October. if you are practicing the piece and have any technical questions, please leave them in the comments below and I'll do my best to answer them in the tutorial. Cheers!
Could you speak about how it was relearning this piece 6 years after the initial recording? Did you approach it differently now that your relationship with music has evolved? I would like to also hear more about the ossia(s) Liszt had with this piece. Thanks so much, Paul. You are always a great source of musical inspiration and wisdom.
All we are seeing here is hard-earned, the exact opposite of given. I suppose Paul Barton's courage and patience can be considered gifts, though. Anyway here's me, clapping madly again...
Und es ist schon eine Gnade die uns musikbegeisterten hier zuteil wird, zwingt einen die Natur doch zu täglichen Fingerübungen um dieses Niveau zu erreichen.
That was absolutely beautiful Paul I love this piece and clapped very loudly at the end but of course you would not be able to hear me. Ah!👋Just wonderful!! Look forward to listening to whatever piece of music you play next.😀👍
I just watched your daughters video of playing "END OF SUMMER". IT WAS MAGNIFICENT!!! I wish more parents could see the results of two parents that enhanced their daughters talents. Your daughter is so very TALENTED!!! CONGRATS ON BEING WONDERFUL PARENTS ❤️
I stopped playing piano for 7 years, and your performances of this piece are what brought me back in 2023 to learn it. I'm not near performance level but I rebound refound my love for piano as a result, so thank you.
♥️der Tag beginnt am besten mit Musik von Mr. Barton ! Glücklicherweise hatte ich mich für den FEURICH 178 mit 4. Pedal entschieden - danke also auch Feurich - die Grüße gehen nach Thailand !
Dear Paul, thank you very much for sharing all these beautiful videos. As a piano student (10 years of studying) who just graduated from the conservatory of Tétouan in Morocco, I'm deeply grateful for all the help I got from your tutorials. By the way, some of the pieces of my graduation exam was the Chopin Polonaise op. 53 and the Scriabin op. 8 no 12. Together with the Chopin Ballade op. 23 and the Scherzo 2 op 31. I enjoyed your tutorials and learnt quite a lot from you. So, from my heart thank you very much indeed. ❤❤
Bless you! My 19 year old grandson (we live in the USA, but different areas) is a music major. He also plays the piano and composes music. He started when he was so young and his feet couldn’t reach the pedals. I do love Chopin piano pieces.
Please do a tutorial 🙏 I’ve been learning the piece for a while and will probably be learning it for a while longer so any help would be much appreciated! Also nice to see you playing this again as the first version is probably my favourite piano performance on UA-cam. ❤
Love how you play this Paul. Just lovely breathing and dynamics and this piece requires much sensitivity for it to work. You make it work. Thank You ;-)
What a coincidence! I am now trying to learn this piece after I succesfully completed Liebestraum No. 3. Your rendition of Liebestraum No. 3 and Un Sospiro are amazing. I would be very happy for a tutorial, thank you! 😄
Beautiful performance of Liszt's best compositions, he always master the piano music obviously. There are some other great pieces I would love to hear from you, but I guess they must be a great deal to play. "Vallée d'Oberman", "Bénédiction de Dieu dans la solitude" and "Tarentelle" from Venezia e Napoli.
Fabulous piece of music, fabulous performance. The short motif at 5:05 suddenly reminded me of Debussy's 'Girl with the Flaxen Hair'. Maybe Debussy pinched that bit.
My favorite piece. I have always been bothered by the tempo of the piece however. Seems like at some point Liszt is purposefully making a difficult piece to play just for the sake of it. Just my opinion though of course. Well done Paul!

If this guy practiced he could be pretty good
I am watching your UA-cam well. I'm a housewife who majored in violin and I'm making a song. It would be an honor for you to play my song!
