“comfort zone”. Imo, we as humans should often be one foot out and one foot in the comfort zone.
tip: you can press escape when interacting with a loot like wands, skill books or relics without loosing the trade. It lets you look at what you've got easier.
I think that people who live safely are because they have gone through a complicated stage in life when they lived in an exciting way, people can change gradually or suddenly as they go through life, without necessarily always being one or the other.

Agoraphobics will say safety comes from the domicile, and autophobics will say safety comes from being out with friends. Safety, much like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. My opinion is that one needs safety one should obtain it.
Stability is for me the baseline. I want and aim for a stable base i can fall back on.
This way i can try new things and go out of my comfort zone, but when needed i can fall back and return to a safe baseline.
I mentioned this in a previous video, but i used to suffer from pannic attacks. And i get them back once in a while(most likely by doing too much new stuff/ getting too many new impressions in a short time/ high stress level).
That is why i aim for a safe baseline

About sifds question of the day: I think both extremes of personality have the same issue: They lack discipline and avoid staying out of their comfort zone. This is very clear for the first case of a person, who's not going to try new things. But it's the same for the second person, too. Because usually they don't get bored by the thing they currently pursuit, but they got inconvenient by it (not comfortable anymore) and that's why they stop. Of course, they won't say that, but instead claim it got boring.
The important lesson to learn in your life is that staying in your comfort zone is not healthy. The longer you stay in that zone, the smaller it becomes and the harder it weights down on your mind. You have to be disciplined and put yourself out of the comfort zone. Let's call this "adventuring". You have to go on adventures to build your personality and create a way of life, that offers sustained happiness.
You didn't need to leave the discount potion behind, cause you have the chance to reroll it into a better potion.
If you choose not to take a potion with you, always drink it. It's not like drinking it is worse than not using it ever again.
I understand the question is mainly focusing on the feeling of safety and not basic safety needs like shelter and food, but I think those have a great psychological impact on “feeling safe”. I would argue those needs need to be met before someone can evaluate other needs or wants for feeling safe.
Once you fulfill basic safety and health needs, you can then evaluate your less critical safety preferences
At one stage in my life i didn't live safely but it wasn't too exciting, but i have been living more safely and more in my comfort zone and in doing so i also experience more new experiences then i did at any time before.
When you are opening a wand chest and you have the wrong wand selected, you can hit escape, select the correct want, and open the chest again.
For me it's more stepping outside of my comfort zone. And enjoy the same thing, day in day out. For me trying new stuff isn't hard, but I have to repeat it untill it becomes "safety" for me.
Also if friends vouch for X then i'm more prone to following them. And thus stepping outside of my comfort zone.
I'm a developer by profession, and I have seen this behaviour a lot with my colleagues. For me the solution was switching workspace (solo dev for the company), this made me stepping outside of the comfort zone way easier.

Im the type of person that enjoys being in stressful and unfamiliar situations. Its a double edged sword though since i have so many hobbies, i get bored faster, i crave adventure but never am satisfied, and i bounce around on things constantly.
When shooting the dummies your shots are splitting targets between the 3, so you were doing 2.7k 3k and 1.6k at peak. Meaning your dps was probably close to 7k after removing overlap dmg

To my perception, safety is when you can feel comfortable about something, and not only necessarily comfortable, but also not having to worry about something, it would be to not take risks regarding something.
Safety can be different for so many things, you could have safety when betting on something so you'd most likely win, you could have safety regarding your monetary status by getting life insurance or something like that, you could have a steady money flow and have that monetary safety aswell, or perhaps you could put rubber on your outside stairs because they get all clumped up with moss during rain months and you don't want to take the risk of sliping down and breaking a leg.
So I'd just say that safety in general would be to "Have no risks involved in something", and because of that, when you lose your "safety" it generally is quite drastic because now you are having to take the risks, I'd guess a extreme example I could give is a russian roulette! When you have no bullets in the revolver then you can pass around the gun and "shoot" but there's no risk, it's safe, as soon you and your dumb drunk friend decide to put a bullet in the chamber then the safety is gone, there's a risk, the risk of death in this case, but still a risk.

if you take the boss relic that gives you guaranteed side shops when you have the endless potions / potions give you max mana and health then you could really make the most of that mechanic

I can say that I am one of the people that doenst like new stuff. I never have, but when I accidentally learn something I end up liking, or am forced into it by something or someone whether that be a friend or changing circumstances I greatly appreciate it. I love learning but hate being behind or confused so sometimes it feels more comfortable just not knowing what I’m missing out on. Crazy that it comes back to ignorance is bliss somehow. But there are times in life and in history when nothing changes for great periods of time, and vise versa. Some people will thrive or not be affected other will be devastated. So I think we can all work on learning being happy in place while accepting and evolving with change regardless of how safe or comfortable you feel with the idea of anything really

I think openness to new experience, which is one of the traits in the five factor model commonly used by the psychiatric community to categorize personality, is probably a better description of what you're talking about than safety.
The persuit of safety, the familiarity we all look for, is none other then fearing the unknown. In life new experiences, new location, and people at first quite will always have a certain sense of unknown, on the opposite end familiarity comes from staying stagnant, yet progressing in life, making you become more and more familair with someone, some experience or place. This unknown is feared to a certain degree by all. This degree of fright is usually is derived from chaos theory, which basically describe that the tiniest changes in the staring conditions make it end up completely different from one and another. Change incurs this unknown, but change shouldn’t be feared but also not underestimated.
I'm fully boxed in in my comfort zone, I ain't getting out unless I'm dragged out. I don't care about negatives, I'm happier in my hole. I also hate public transport, even though it's one amongst the best in the world. It's confusing.

There needs to be a balance between new things and familiarity, since too many new things may go unexpected ways and not in a good way, on the other end of the spectrum, too much familiarity will just make all the memories into a blob and will look like time flows too fast
Sifd, i was thinking with myself how much the black hole on this game weights, so i calculated it based on the diameter of the area around you (4 meters). Assuming that my calculations are correct the black hole should have, approximately, 59% of the sun's mass, that is 1.1758×10²⁶ kilograms

I get what you are trying to say.. for me it depends, I have ADHD, things do get boring, I get bored easily.. I lost so many hobbies because of that.. I'm always thrilled to try new stuff and if they gave me bad experience, never again 😂😂 but I'm always open minded about things.. I hate stepping outside of my comfort zone but you don't have to get rid of it entirely.. you just need to step outside a bit and try new stuff and go to back to your comfort zone

Lost in translation. No worries. There are many ways you could have asked the "safety" question, but "safety" is kind of the wrong word. The most common term to describe what you are asking is "Comfort Zone". Leaving your "comfort zone".

In my mind preference for safety vs freedom is one of the main differences between people. It influences views on economics, politics and every day life.
As in many things both views are needed for healthy society and of course nobody is 100% safety or freedom person, usually humans are mix of 2.
Maybe it's false dichotomy, but at least for me it helps to understand people better ✌️
To apply this model to real world is hard but possible. For example, traditionally conservative people pro safety - if it works, don't change. And progressive people are pro freedom - it doesn't work, we need change. But goals of preserving or progressing can be opposite, for example progressive people want change which, from their perspective, will make world safer and conservative people want to preserve system which, from their perspective, helps protect freedoms.
In every day life, always staying in comfort zone can lead to unfulfilling and boring life, while always beeing in chaos will destroy anybody, as psychologicaly safety is one of our basic needs. So the only way I see is walking this tightrope between order and chaos

in real life safety is must, you can't respawn. but safety and consistent growth is good. you don't want try to flick demon core and say cheeeeeeseee bathing in that deadly light without knowing what it is.
safety for me is... when i can handle and compensate for the risk and the loss if that happen, like when gambling, i expect to lose money and not gain one. i expect to sprain some muscle in gym but i can handle that, but i won't lift what i can't that possibly injure me permanently or even kill me

As much as you may not need them at the moment, something like coin is health can pay itself rather easily.
And you may not need the relic, but you also dont need 110 life, specially on the second level*

Well I strive for safety but im not averse to new things, but I will always be careful to ensure these new things I will like or think I will and can back out easily. Major thing is in life they say if you don’t come out of your comfort zone you won’t achieve your full potential or miss out, I personally believe a mix of both is best.

Not using the second epic spell was a terrible choice. It five Times the mana cost, but thanks to the splits you were allready getting around 8 times the mana cost of the default mana bullet and with the valey it was around 6-7 times your total cost. Plus the spell shoots out 20 of the other spells with all the buffs. So you would not only not have any mana isues, but you would 20x your DPS. Such a waste😢
