Richard - You will know from the podcast we did a few weeks ago that I went through a very similar experience and can only echo the sentiments you now express. I was lucky in that my consultant was himself a keen runner and saw no problem with me getting back on the bike so to speak. I also take great comfort in my annual full blood count which would identify if there were any underlying issues healthwise. Thankfully all my measurements have been well within the normal range over the past five years. The one thing my ECG revealed was that I have an inverted T wave. They looked back on my records and discovered that the same thing was recorded when I suffered my first bi-lateral pulmonay embolism in 2009 so it's probably something I've lived with for most of my life. Again my consultant said keep on the medications, keep the weight down, eat sensibly and just continue as before. So looking forward to a fruitful 2025 with championship events in Pontevedra and Istanbul and no doubt a few qualifiers for 2026.
Thought provoking matey. Glad you’ve overcome and continue to race at a high standard. Was the Rutland Water Standard Tri in 2014? Think I was in that race😊

Of Course, Robert, it's about doing as many of the right things as we can to keep it at bay. Hope you are well and having a good off season.

Cheers Mark, hopefully, it will strike a chord and help someone. Yeah, I think it would have been 2014.
