My calabrese was rubbish this year, I was glad to see you take yours out as I ripped mine out yesterday and then wondered if I’d done the right thing! I always seem to have good results with things like cabbage and kale but never any great success with the sprouting brassicas. Your garden is looking lovely... like you we moved a few years ago and are finally beginning to reap the reward of our hard work. Look forward to your updates
Thanks Simon. The garden is a bit of a long term project but I enjoy evolving it. It’s strange that I’m only getting a single picking from the Calibresse but one is better than none. 😊
Litt;le spuddy pearls! You need Terry's loo brush scrubber! Strong calabrese plants and LOL - I thought you had buried treasure underneath! I've stuck peppermint teabags (organic and paper bags so compost eventually) down mouse and vole holes - seemed to work too! Your gigantes are looking fab, mine are just half-way up, surrounded by sheep fleece and the blinking crows have pulled away some fleece to assist the slugs - because the wind blew the protective netting off! Beautiful garden Mags.
Thanks Kerry. Still trying to get the garden into shape. It’ll be a couple more years before I have the structure sorted and the wild areas tamed but it’s getting there. Blooming crows! Hope your beans go from strength to strength. Take care. Mags.
I think that was a great harvest. Those potatoes look like they’ll be delish. I’m a bit worried for mine now though having put 4 or 5 in one growbag lol. The weather has really been against us this year so I think you’ve done great. Eli and Kate done a great video , basically about being happy with what you have accomplished. It was something that I needed to see this year. Thanks for a great video 🥰
Hiya. The potatoes are lovely so for that I am definitely thankful. Mother Nature is definitely trying our patience this year that’s for sure. It’ll be interesting to see your potato harvest. I’m sure you’ll get som lovely spuds. Take care. Mags.
Wow lots of potatoes on the edge and small is better than nought. We prefer small ones though 😂. Oh do I see an experiment coming, 1 seed potato vs 2 in a pot. Odd you didn’t get more sideshoots on the broccoli 🥦 but girls will be happy. Oh goòd tip on the mint 👍. My onions didn’t do well this year nor my garlic. We are finally breaking our heatwave it’s only 30c 🥵 today. Oh lord I have the same insane pea issue 😅😅. Growth update Mags I hope the winds are over, Ali 🌞🇨🇦
Hi Ali. The winds have settled thankfully. My garlic was ok but not great. I’m excited about one set of onions that I grew from seed. Bulking up but still need more time. God only 30c. Those temps would kill me. I want more heat than 17c but only a bit. 20c would suit me just fine., take care. Mags.
@@mycountrygardenchannel it’s 32c as I type at 3:30 pm, I feel like I’m trapped and getting so little done, but I try to get out after sunset and work til 9pm 🤦♀️. We were to,d it would cool down but it hasn’t and we’d get rain by 20th but that forecast has been changed 😭😭
Great harvest Mags 👍
😊

Hi hope you're enjoying the garden. Did you plant different seeds together for your beautiful flowers😊
Hi Claire. I showed the flower seeds in trays then planted the seedlings out. Seems to have worked quite well 😆
