When you held up the piece of dynamite box it reminded me of a story from the days when dynamite could be purchased by just about anyone. An old friend (long deceased) and his wife had a new neighbor in the country who was blasting some rock off his property. After one particularly big blast, a rock came flying through the picture window of their home. They were livid! A few minutes later, the new neighbor knocked on their front door. When they opened the door the neighbor said " Hi, I'm Jim and I want my rock back." They all broke down in laughter and remained friends for many years afterwards. Be careful what you blast! haha Good to have some friends along on this one, Tom & Julie! I think Pickles had the best idea, though: nice quiet motorhome and a nap or three. Take care!
That is a good story. I know many farmers used to use dynamite to blow big stumps out. You don't dare let people buy it these days as there would surely be some crazy person blow up a school or government building. Pickles has it pretty good all right. Thanks for the comment!
We didn't expect to find that drift with the white timbers. We were just walking up to look at the old mill site. She usually always has it. Thanks, Jake!

Oh, this just keeps getting better, He mine explores, he does ropes, he rebuilds Jeeps, knows history. Now, we find he was in blues band! Please tell me you can't fly a helicopter.
I can't fly a helicopter. I played in bar bands in Minneapolis from 1977 to 1997. I worked a regular job most of that time, as well. When Julie and I got married I gave up on the band business. I had seen enough late nights and smoky bars. I still fool around with the music clips for the videos we make.

Thanks once again for a great explore! That first shaft was nice but that second adit was the real payoff. Interesting painted timbers...the only thing I can think of that would explain why they were painted white is to increase visibility. Painting the timbers white would make them pop in the poor lighting they had. Just a theory. Man those colors at 27:10 - awesome!

Love your videos and always anxious for a new one. Just curious as to whether anyone has checked the tailings or gobbing for these mines. With their limited light, I thought they might not have gotten all the gold, etc.
Funny you should ask that. As we were leaving this area we talked to the claim owner of the next mine over, about a mile away. He was going through a tailings pile where the testing had shown that only about 60% of the gold had been recovered from the ore with the process that was used. The miners did the hard part pulling the ore from the ground and milling it and now 40% of the gold is sitting there in a massive pile. I'm not sure what method he was planning on using to try to recover the remaining gold. Thanks for the comment, Cutt!
That first mine looked cool now the second one was a little bit sketchy for me now and I'm curious are you two native American and if so what tribe are you from too

Thanks for the heads up, Roger. I don't watch too many videos so didn't know anything about it. I left Justin my condolences. Ironically, we've been going through a few of the same losses. My father died recently and my sister died from cancer one month ago. Julie has been battling cancer for the last year, too. We don't usually say much about our personal issues in a public forum so this is the first I've said about some of those things anywhere.
@@TomandJulieMineExploring I left the same message with Frank Shittling and Gly coolness. Pretty much everyone knows about TVR. I have a lot of respect for him and even more now. I have been a hospice nurse for 25 years and my family has had its share too. Jeff Williams chimed in. So sorry to hear about Julie. I am kind of dumb founded. Read my message to TVR. I would say the same thing to you. As stated I have nothing brilliant to say at a time like this and would never wish to belittle ones personal loss. Best wishes. Chris. Roger is my latest YT name. I have had several courtesy of the algorithym.
There is another level at 200 feet down. Ken and Kenny had already accessed the 200 level from another manway outside the mine and tried to climb the ladders up to the 100 level where we were but the ladders were blocked. So, they had already checked it out and it was similar to the 100. There is a 400 level but from a report I read there is not much to it. Ken might have a video of the 200 level on his channel. I think he called this mine The Orando. I looked for it on his channel but didn't easily find it. Aren't you glad you asked?
Hi Mike. I agree, and I always keep our original sounds on the videos. If I use any music, it is almost always on a series of photos that obviously have no sound. Thanks for the comment!👌😊

It was down the road a ways where we parked. We were out walking to look at the millsite and weren't expecting to find anything underground.
12/20/21. You might want to check out Justins at TVRs latest vid. He has had several family members die. He is a top notch person. Many condolences.
@@rogersmith7396 Thanks, Chris. Life can be harsh as you well know. A person has to just keep plowing through their troubles. What else can one do?
@@TomandJulieMineExploring Agreed. Best wishes to you all. Great you have each other.
Hello when I seen the title shaft diving I said no to dangerous I was thinking of scuba diving boy.Great that you are not ⛏️💣☃️🏔️🎄
I didn't mean to mislead anyone with the title. We do scuba divers but not in a mine. Thanks, Case! Merry Christmas to you!
How come you didn't go lower in first mine
There is another level at 200 feet down. Ken and Kenny had already accessed the 200 level from another manway outside the mine and tried to climb the ladders up to the 100 level where we were but the ladders were blocked. So, they had already checked it out and it was similar to the 100. There is a 400 level but from a report I read there is not much to it. Ken might have a video of the 200 level on his channel. I think he called this mine The Orando. I looked for it on his channel but didn't easily find it. Aren't you glad you asked?
@@TomandJulieMineExploring thanks for replying. Always enjoy your adventures
Not that I do not care for the music but I prefer the videos without the hiding of the background
Hi Mike. I agree, and I always keep our original sounds on the videos. If I use any music, it is almost always on a series of photos that obviously have no sound. Thanks for the comment!👌😊
